Awesome video thank you so much! But i do have a question, aside from inhibitory signals, wouldn’t the high brain centre be sending signals to contract the detrusor muscle via parasympathetic nerve in order to empty the bladder as well? If there is an upper motor neuron damage, it is true that the inhibitory signals will no longer be conveyed causing detrusor hyperreflexia and urge incontinence. But at the same time, the excitatory signals to empty our bladder during micturition will not be sent too isn’t it ? In this case, will the bladder still undergo hyperreflexia since it kinda balanced out each other😂😂😂? Looking forward to your clarifications please. This question has been troubling me for days😢🥺🥺

Even though upper motor damage, the strech receptors of bladder are in functioning,so if the bladder was full means it send signals up to spinal cord,so with the help of local reflexes motor signals will sent to bladder contraction

the spinal reflexes are only controlled/regulated by the brain. also the sensory, processing, action part is carried out by the spine and related nerve and bladder
