In my random urine routine test nitrate and epithelial is showing positive but I have no symptoms what is that mean sir?but i pee 7to8 times in a day and as soon as I drink water every 15 to 30 min i pee

Dr my mother diabetic aged 87 n having frequent urinary tract infection( sll tge times E coli is present( now her problem is frequent urination n thus having sodium loss n thus having low BP n having headache. V r supplimentingbwith salt when ever having headache. She also takes craneberry suppliment bpl suggest how to reduce frequent urination n sodium loss also in urine dr Kindly reply

In recurrent UTI ,its important to rule out anatomical malformation or any pathology like stricture ,also control of diabetes ,and switching from certian antidiabetic to another antidiabetic with regular monitoring of RBS...

I have had uti from staph areaus for 17yrs now. All attempts to cure it had been unsuccessful. I have seen many doctors and had taken many medication. Right now, i do t know what to do. Im still in same mess with same symptoms. In my resent urine culture test, the bacteria doesn’t show anymore but i still feel sick with same symptoms. The doctors will tell me im fine but i feel sick with countless symptoms.
I have no bacterial Growth in My Urine Culture test but still i face recurrent uti My Ist Ultrasound report shows Simple cyst 2.5 cm and in my left kidney with no mass ,And Cystitis . And after 1 month Sevond Ultrasound Shows No cystitis Just Simple Cyst . I use Ceproflaxcin 500 mg But not working Sometimes i feeel urine retention ,Flow problems ,Starting A little late when peeeing Any suggetion for me

Excellent knowledge and explanation, but there are so many options for palliative treatment as supplements, probiotics and diet that were not even mentioned here. And the excessive use if antibiotics have side effects and will not prevent recurrence.
Preforming culture is going to take 3 days to give the results, so should we suppose to give emprical antibiotics treatment considering patient having symptoms or wait and if we wait what should be the patient given till the culture result show up
All the drugs mentioned in this video are empiric therapy drugs. You start them before the culture results are back. If cultures are back and you know the specifics drugs then you change the drugs according to the culture report.
I think patient can have pyrexia in acute prostatitis and can have purulent discharge how do u categorize it part of lower UTI or not its a separate enttiy
Dr I wish you had diagnosed my mother here in London. 21st December last year I called the ambulance for hospital after she collapsed at home when I was getting her to bed,she had vomited twice earlier in the day. This was the fourth day of Macrobid for UTI given by her GP. The Dr at A+E diagnosed dehydration,put her on a drip for an hour and said her blood test was clear,and that we could then go home. Less than 48 hours after discharge my mother had the same symptoms but this time did not recover from collapse. It was very distressing,the only blessing is I was there holding her hand as she went. I later talked to her GP,she said she was surprised the hospital didnt carry out a Urine sample test,also she said tbe blood test showed raised white blood cells. She put urinary sepsis on death certificate..this was without post mortem. But after watching a few videos I think my mother had pyelonephritis the last few weeks of her life that turned to sepsis. I wrote a complaint to the hospital as I feel they didnt do enough tests and should have admitted her for observation.
