I suffered stroke 3 years ago, left hand left eye sight and speech were impacted. I used to play HARMONIUM AND VIOLIN even before stroke. After stroke I stated playing harmonium with lots of difficulty as left hand was not effective for bellowing . However, I followed up regularly and vigors. I sing along with harmonium. Over period, my speech is fully recovered. I play and sing HINDUSTANI CLASSICAL RAGAS , bhupali, bhairavi and malkause. It helps excellent coordination of left and right hands along with vocal chords. I am still not able to play violin due to left hand fingers sluggishness, still I continue regular practice .

Rica, thank you for the comment. Results may still be possible for your grandmother, there is evidence to support that improvement is possible even months and years post-stroke.

Hi! I'm a NMT in california; is it OK to include your video on a playlist linked to my website to help inform potential clients in this area bout what NMT sessions may look like? Thank you!
This is a great video. I would love to show this when presenting about MT in my hospital (I work as an MTBC). Is there a case study to go along with this?
MedRhythms awesome thank you! Any chance you have any of the information such as the time between videos, time between first video and cvs, frequency of tx, other current therapies?
@@annamarinium9653 The time between videos was around 4-6 months. He was receiving therapy from us twice per week for 1.5hrs. He was also receiving some speech therapy, but do not remember the frequency of that.
He began MT shortly after his stroke (a week or 2), while he was in an inpatient rehab hospital. When MT was implemented, the goal was phonation initially, which was about 2 months prior to the beginning of this video.
Hi, my mother suffered stroke about 6 months ago, She had speech therapy going on and off but now its permanent and my SLP is using a similar humming technique. But, I'm facing one major issue, she is unable to speak words on her own when she wants to, although she can repeat more than 50 words after me but can't use them on her own. Any tips please?
