@jfv26 I take half of a "measured" teaspoon each day of raw ground root power with oil and ground black pepper. Or a 500mg capsule of commercial premix differing from brand to brand. Occasionally, I've doubled the dosage of both but never for more than a few days at a time.
@getwell587 Recommended dosage can be 500mg once or twice daily. As for brand names, I've just tried my luck to be honest, I just don't buy in bulk unless I'm confident with that particular brand but even then the quality can change with the same brand, that has happened to me a few times.
@@shanesawyer5103 Yeah, I take a supplement with Ashwagandha and Theanine. No negative side effects that I can tell, and the winter didn't feel quite as bleak.
I’m taking 4000 a day and I feel it’s made me laser focused on what’s important and able to use logic over emotion in areas others can’t always especially at work I’m able to avoid frustration with people and arguments simply because i could care less💀
Ive been taking for way longer than 2 months.. however, I do take it in moderation. Its wonderful, kinda of message, but take the fear out the message.
I took 600mg daily, and had to stop after two and a half weeks because everything started to become dull. It sure lowers stress, but at the cost of not wanting to do anything unless it's it's of absolute necessity. Maybe I have a low amount of cortisol at default or something, I dunno. But now I cycle about 1 week on and off to not get to that extreme level.
Only take ashwagandha if it's necessary. If you are engaging in heavy workout or sex multiple times in a week. 600mg ashwagandha in your body for nothing is not good.
wow dude, I can't believe I found someone with my similar situation. I took 750 mg of very strong ashwagandha daily to manage exam stress. I worked great at start but then I noticed it was infact worsening the situation since i was just not motivated enough to study. I just didnt care enough to get fully focused on the study, even tho i desperately wanted to.
@@user-wl7vw4cs1v I took it in 300mg gummies and I took it for about a month and half straight, but tbh it could also be that I am nofapping. I read about this thing called the no fap flatline, so it may be my brain resetting. I’m not sure what the brand was, I ran out of the stuff and I won’t be taking it again for at least a couple of weeks.
Im a mom of 3 full time college student as well as work full time. Im am constantly overwhelmed and stressed. Im trying this today i really hope it helps
Been on ashwagandha for about four years. Sharp thinking, better memory, strong libido, relaxed, better sleep...I take half a capsule once or twice a day (300mg cap). I've had some that was ineffective and others that made me wired...gotta find the right one❤
I remember my sophomore or Junior year in high school I almost got jumped by about 8 to 10 guys for wearing a navy blue shirt lol, however, I wasn’t actually scared and I was ready to swing on all of them! I remember during that time I started taking ashwagandha and started practicing semen retention and I was probably on my 6th or 7th day on that… I think it works honestly. I didn’t get jumped though, 2 of my friends came running to back me up I don’t even know how, they had both gone their own way to their classes haha that shit was dope asffff!
I took 600 mg daily for 30 days and it's enought for me. Because I have so much energy during the day I crash in bed by midnight. I will take ashwagandha in the fall again if needed.
Guys I’m being serious when I say don’t take this stuff everyday for months and years. That’s insane… Just simply only take it when your anxiety is through the roof. It’s not needed everyday. This stuff will be very hard for your body to adjust getting off of. I made that mistake with Lions Mane. I took it 3x a day for about 8 months and holy shit it’s been a bitch getting off it. Insane anxiety and depression. After 7 months of hell I decided you know what screw this I’m just gonna fast. So I water fasted for 12 days. No food just water. And it seemed to fix me. Broke the fast with bone broth, 14th day I was eating lettuce with bone broth. Then 15th day I made bone broth soup with noodles and carrots. 16th day I started eating tuna and bone broth. Then my body was back to normal.
Im taking this for 4month now..600mg twice daily. My energy increased and stress level decreased. I tried to change with theanine. But i feel i still need ashwagandha..now i take both of it.😂.. theanine help me to focus and ashwagandha help me overcome anxiety.
It helped me greatly with anxiety however long periods of use began to put me in a depressive/numb state of mind. It can have a negative impact on serotonin production, so if you have a form of depression/serotonin deficiency DO NOT take this supplement.
Don’t take it at night right before sleep because you will stay up all night and will have no stress as to why you can’t sleep ! You’ll feel like a zombie. But then again I took 1g! I am thinking of halving that and having it in the morning. It’s definitely taken away the muscle tension I had due chronic stress.
As a practitioner of Ayurvedic principles, nothing is meant for every day over long periods of time. I had a double mastectomy and never used a painkiller and once I used, holy basil and got rid of my pain within a matter of eight days I was off of that and now holy basil is in my medicine chest. And I take it like Advil, but you wouldn’t take every day, and if I’m in high stress because it’s a great stress response, it’s not every day. Along with healing through your five senses, anything that you take it should be a short period and possibly in some cases two weeks on two weeks off two weeks on two weeks off and that would be it.
You could take it an hour before you feel tired I take two in the morning and two at night when I’m under a lot of stress or struggling with anything. I read about it and it’ll call to you and then you’ll feel good about it.
Took out for less than a week and the nightmares were INTENSE. And I'm used to having crazy nightmares nightly. This caused me actual anxiety/ feelings of dread while sleeping. Never again.
When your anxiety levels get lowered you are more likely to face your fears and having a nightmare is your bodies way of dealing with subconscious stress. But yeah if it doesn't work for you then it doesn't work
I drink 250 per day and it's been almost 60 days now. I'm gonna take a break after the 60th capsule. I might take it again when my anxiety kicked in real hard
I've been taking it four days a week, when I work my job and on the three days of rest, I take Tongkat Ali. I've been feeling good. Not sure how effective this is though.
On 1-10 i was thinking my stress was 4 but taking ashwagandha only 5 days i start seeing dreams and i have done it 2-3 times as soon as i stop taking ashw. I stop seeing dreams which simply shows how it calms your mind .
Makes sense for anyone to be scared of the unknown at first glance 😊 A lot of people were scared of the pandemic not too long ago but now with knowledge and better understanding people aren't as scared anymore.
I've taken ashwagandha without a break for a year now. Decided to stop now due to gastrointestinal issues. For me the negatives outweigh the positives but if I wouldn't have any symptoms I would keep using it.
Herbs work differently for each person. Not always the same. But takes trial and error to figure out what is most appropriate for the person. Sometimes need change. herbs are fantastic things. Appropriate ness chamges.
I would stop using social media instead of supplements in order to reduce stress. .... During that time you can work out and thus improve every metric of your live.
I noticed twice around 1-2 days after starting ashwaganda, that I became depressed and sad, with dark thoughts, so I stopped. Then I read that it could have this effect.
That’s exactly opposite of what it does… and you need at least some weeks to actually see the results of it. 1-2 days is not enough. Probably something else
So don’t take it 😊… best thing is your body … Your body tells you what is good for you or not .. You may be sensitive to some phyto chemicals present in ashwaganda … Tip :- ashwaganda should be taken at night … ashwaganda kicks out after 2 hours .. you feel sleepy and dizzy … It’s best alternative of sleeping pills… I was addicted to sleeping pills then I switched to ashwaganda worked for me …😊
So if i suffer insomnia should got to another herb after a month ? Cause after month it didn't help even with doubling the dosage Thinking of giving another try but with powder form as bedtime tea , hope it helps god speed
Be very cautious with this powerful herb. I took it in capsule form at 450mg and became very ill. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and sweating. I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital.
Its bc american doctors use different ways to conduct research and confirm information... And its a relatively new method. India is an old dynasty of wisdom... The Western medicine is based on costly research and that stumps the flow of progress but in a few hundreds of years its knowledge will grow unimaginably. Both methods have its measures. Indian is based on experience i guess (not hindu so i cant really talk ab it), Western wants to understand every single principle before confirming authenticity (till it drives ppl mad). I say we take best of both worlds ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sorry i just realised i didnt say what im adressing... American doctors are ofc not experts but they try to be. Indian medicine knows many things better bc of its rich knowledge of spanning milennias, and that includes ashwagandha. Western doctors just try to catch up and research through their own methods they base their medicine on. The researcher in the video was just explaining the topic and its whys.
Took it early this year. My emotions went numb, and it's not good for me because I myself already have an emotion detached issue. I don't wanna be a robot.
Ashwagandha,or shatavari (another herb) - you must keep in mind 3 things while taking it 1) take it in powdered form - the roots of the plant , you can grind it yourself . 2) take it in warm milk , with some chocolate powder 😅 , and take it after 6pm or before 7am (note:- never take it between 12pm-4pm when Sun is at its highest) 3) don't take ashwagandha in summer, please don't - you can make a winter program, use ashwagandha in winter only , and may be in the rainy season for tropical countries
@@allstarscamparker8797 it's ayurvedic knowledge, if you never had any exposure to ayurveda you can either try to dig deeper and understand or ignore, or just follow as advised without much thought
@@mundofanuu you see every food and herb has its own nature, some are warm in nature some are cold , some are neutral , for example:- almonds , cashews are warm in nature , they must not be consumed daily in summers because summers are hot and consuming food hot in nature increases body heat, now since during cold because the temperature outside is cold and your body can easy despite heat out , it does not cause you harm While in summer the heat outside and heat inside becomes a perfect combination for your kin to react to it first , that's why if you eat food hot in nature in summer you see pimples and breakouts, while same food doesn't cause those in winters Similarly herba , are medicinal and some are used in rituals , that's what every thing is assigned a quantity and time to be taken
I have ashwagandha, which states a dosage of 500mg, split into 1 x250mg capsule twice a day. Any advice on effective dosages. Should this be adhered to, or can I take the 500mg as 1 dose or more, split throughout the day?
Take it only in times of heavy stress, symptoms after prolonged use are no joke. Some feel emotionless, depressed almost as if its effects have reversed. It’s a potent herb/ root. Although everyone will tolerate it differently. Be safe :)
I have no issues with 900mg a day, i stopped taking anti depressents and anxiety meds when i moved to ashwaghanda and some other supps. I take ash for months at a time and occasionally come off for a week or 2, no issues.
I was getting horrible tension headaches For 6 weeks. Nothing would help Tylenol, ibprofen etc… I popped a couple ashwagandha and the headaches were gone.
I've read that it can take up to 2 or 3 months before you can feel its affects. You said to take it for a month and then stop for a month. Why should I stop taking it in 1 month when it takes 2 or three months long to work?
Try to adjust and deal with with it by doing some cardio and exercises , or doing something that shifts your brain thinking away from the things that stress you.
I have extreme mood swings (on the depressive side) during my cycle and I really don’t want to take birth control. I have pretty extreme ADD as well. Would ashwaganda be safe for me?
I take 1000 mg before bed and it puts me out hard and i have very vivid dreams. I also noticed i feel focused and sometimes full salute i didnt even know it did that.
I am desperate to lower my cortisol, which remains high 6 months after a traumatic event that I have gotten over but apparently my body has not. I have gained 15 pounds of belly fat from not eating any sugar or carbs yep I am very strict and still got that cortisol belly. My once great sleep has gone to crap even though I get to bed consistently early and I use no caffeine. I hope this works……
@@GabrielsGalaxy Thank you so much! I am happy to report I am having success, finally. The ashwaganda didn’t help in a significant way; what DID help is taking Ancestral Supplements Placenta & Adrenal; then adding in long wonderful walks at a local state park after dinner. This added to what I was already doing (early to bed every night, no artificial light after sundown, lots of magnesium glycinate, l-Theanine, l-tryptophan, lemon balm & chamomile tea at night, grounding, deep breathing) I am finally sleeping awesome (have been for two weeks) the depression has lifted and I’ve lost 7 pounds so far. I feel so much better. I thank the Lord for leading me and helping me. Daily I pray and seek Him and He shows up. I feel so much happier. My husband said to me the other day, “It’s nice to see you smile again.” I said “It’s nice to feel like smiling again!”
I have taken ashwagandha for 90 days didn’t notice any effects than after 4 weeks tried again but taking 2 pills a day and still didn’t feel any benefits or effects im starting to think it’s placebo
I took it for more than 6 months and now I can’t touch it. I feel severe anxiety if I take it now. I am also super depressed some days after I try to take it again and it seems it has lost its benefits
Idk, it takes a minute to even see results, like 4 to 12 weeks from what i read. So once you see results you'll have to stop? Then you wont really reap the benefits. Then according to him you cant start back until 2 to 4 weeks.
Yea exactly. That's my question too. The lady in the herbal store I got it from said you don't have to stop taking it but I've read so many conflicting reports on that.
