I mix a few tablespoons of cassia in a jar of hot water and rinse my hair with it after I shampoo in the shower. I leave it on for about 5-10 minutes and apply conditioner after. this method works better for me than applying as a paste to my hair for hours!! will never go without this stuff. I use the "light mountain natural" brand. It's really cheap and has worked wonders for my long hair. :)
Hi there, I've been trying to figure out for ages if there is a way to use clear henna that doesn't involve crusting your head up for hours! So when you mix your henna with water, how much water and powder? Like what consistency are you going for? Do you go root to tip or only on the ends? You leave it 5-10 min, rinse, then follow up with your usual condish? How often do you do it?
Lucy, I'm blonde and I discovered that cassia (only cassia, without lawsonia) can give a warm tone to the hair.. I think that this thing can happen with light hair! I stopped using cassia and started using Sidr (the plant is "ziziphus spina christi"); I find that sidr is REALLY good for hair, maybe better than cassia.. It gives you a great volume!
I think it made a major difference. It took away all the brassy red tones and brought back a vibrant brown to your hair. I think I might do this to my hair :) My hair is almost the same color as yours.
Actually rosemary can darken hair(it's used to color grey hair) , but it's excellent giving strength and shine... Try with methi (fenugreek) it's results are incredible.
Wow!! it looks really less red than before, and so shiny. I use cassia, leave it overnight with camomile in it to get some blonde highlight. I suggest you to try like that if you want a lighter color:)
MarySophia mine too but i have dark brown asian hair so it doesn’t show much but it does elevate the boring extremely dark hair , i mix with 5 tea bag of chamomile tea bagbecause it gives a gold or yellow undertone i mix with hair mask and pure coconut oil and put in on my hair for 3 hours and dont make the consistensy too liquidy since this makes it running down all over your neck which is so annoying
Try to mix it with Amla and a good conditioner. It get in and out better. Cassia and henna gives a very high dosis of protein. Amla will add shine nd makes your hair incredibly soft. The conditioner or mask should be silicon and mineral oil free though. I wish you great results :)
Do you still do this ? If you do add aloe Vera powder in the mix. It will glide on with ease and rinse out better. More conditioning too. It should give your hair a lot of strength.
Hello Lucy! I usually buy pure cassia online and I use it mixed with amla (another plant) and I add to the "mushy thing" a couple of tablespoon of hair conditioner and sometimes a tablespoon of milk powder. I tried yogurt but my scalp doesn't like it :( Cassia leaves my hair shiny but it's a little drying for me if I dont't mix it with the conditioner. (you can use hair conditioner to remove cassia from your hair if you don't want to wash it with shampoo - just rinsing isn't enough to remove all the thing, even with pure cassia)
i bought this product and it arrived yesterday day , as soon as i saw it i ran out to the kitchen to do the mix and apply it on my hair , i left it for 4 hours on my hair, it didnt color it at all although my hair is light brown (dyed) but it feels super soft , clean and shiny i will definitly buy alot of it but next time ill be trying the brown color cuz ive a little of grey hair that i want to cover .
I've tried the exact same package you did a few years ago and it did make my hair red in the sun, even tho my hair is way darker than yours. But after a few months the red was gone, it didn't permanently stain it like the henna did to your ends. And I wish my hair looked that good from using my conditioner!!
Dear, I ve got just one question: does Cassia Obovata the same thing like the usual Indigofera Argentea or Lawsonia Inermis at the level of the structure of the hair, making it strong, shinny and with a nice volume? I m just bored of the actual Henna which I use it for years, because I don t like the colour it gives to my hair. If I can t get the colour I want, then I will just stay with my natural colour, but I love the effect of Henna over my hair because it gives volume like I m out of the salon.
Claudia Gruianu Hi! Were you able to solve your "problem"? I'm doing the same thing (henna/indigo/amla) and I'm really tired of the color... I want my hair lighter but i know with indigo it will be a lot harder to do. I'm thinking of using cassia now, but I'm scared messing my haor up. I love how my hair feel now, just dont care for the color anymore... what have you found since your post? Thank you so much!
The one you used had a bit of regular henna in it. I have never used the powder but I really like the packets of "henna n' placenta" it contains cassia in it not henna. The conditioner form makes it really easy to use. My hair always feels thicker for a while after a treatment.
Als je de kleur uit je haar wil kun je ook eens zoeken op "vitamine C masker". Dit gebruiken al die meiden met felle semipermanente haarkleuren om hun haarkleur te vervagen. Ik weet niet of het werkt met henna, maar wie weet!
I've been considering cassia for a while now...only considering, use I'm almost to knee, and I fear the work involved.....haha I have blonde hair and no desire to darken, so henna is not for me at all! I wonder just how much cassia is in the mix you bought? Does it show a percentage? Perhaps straight cassia would give a better, shinier result.
Hi. Straight Cassia with camomile tea instead of water and some apple cider vinegar or lemon juice should make it blonde and shiny after 2 applications.
I have red/brown hair and I would love to try henna but after a dye incident, I now only have my hair dyed by my trusty hairdresser. I could talk her into using it though, now I think about it. Also, I loved your makeup in this! x
I don't know how many packages of henna you used, if you have really long hair, it's better to use two. And the thing about henna is it gets shinier after a few washings.
***** have you ever tried brown henna? I have medium brown hair and I also used to dye my hair with henna; now I've run bored of red and wanted to go back to my natural brown hair, so I let my hair grow out for one year more or less and then, since those red pigments did not seem to go away, I tried brown henna! Obviously, it is no Lawsonia (therefore no red pigments in it) and it covers the red pigments pretty well, as long as nourish your hair :) I would give it a try ;)
I know this is an old video but I have a question. I dyed my hair with henna about a month ago. I used the same brand (Henné Color Paris). I used henna powder in shade auburn and followed the instructions on the back of the box (but I did notice that Slovene instructions were a little different than instructions in English). The problem is that my henna hair won't stop bleeding. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week and as I said, it's been almost a month. How can I prevent my henna hair from bleeding? I really like the colour and I like the fact that henna is completely natural but I can't stand the bleeding. :( I've never dyed my hair before (neither with henna or any other hair dyes) and my hair is quite healthy looking. Sorry for the long comment.. I did some research on the internet but I thought I would post a comment here since I've seen you use this brand before. I love your videos by the way and you're absolutely gorgeous :)
+Doroteja Dirnbek Hi Doroteja, I believe this is the only time I've ever used something from this brand, and this is a colourless treatment. When I've used pure henna powder in the past it always bled for a long time too, though. I had a special pillowcase I'd use after henna as it would always stain! I'm not an expert but I fear it's part of the deal with henna...
Your red color before was gorgeous. The after color is a solid dull brown. Now you need to go out and get yourself some highlights to liven up the color. I'm not sure why or how you don't see any difference. Actually the solid brown color looks like it came out of a Clairol box.
I regularly dye my hair red and tried to use henna additionally both for conditioning and to stretch the time in between chemical treatments, but i just ended up having to pluck out dirt of my hair for days on end, and my scalp just felt outright dirty, even after washing and rinsing for half an hour or more :/
That definitely could be it... back then I did avoid sulphates. I've switched back to regular shampoos since then, maybe I'll give henna or cassia another shot :) Thanks!
Be careful dear some henna are use for just tatto colors for skin not hair because its have some chemicals and other colors , the good one for hair must be pure and you add some olive oil and , plain yogurt and 1 egg 🥚 its will be great if you want your hair look shine glossy red add hibiscus tea just the water ** withoy leaves .
Maybe you should try this one organeo.pl/pol_pl_Khadi-Cassia-Bezbarwna-Henna-2207_1.jpg ? It contains only Cassia Obovata Leaves (Senna/Cassia) without any henna :)
4malina ***** yes, maybe pure cassia would have more effect? i have heard it's supposed to make the hair glossy. regardless your hair looks very nice, compared to before (but before had so much product from the style hehe)
