Showing the location of the neutral switch and the replacement (sorta). Already replaced it, but figured I'd make a video on the location and steps to get there.
Hey thank you for the video, neutral light been giving me a hard time when the bike warms up, goes out and I can't let the bike idle in N unless it's cold. going to check that neutral ground first - didn't realize that was there!
This was great thank you for showing me I've changed my clutch cable and clutch and I didn't know that it was write their I'm just going to tell the truth I didn't know
The issue I was having was the neutral light would not come on after riding around for a bit. And it prevented me from starting the bike once that issue appeared. You said your C50 starts then shuts down? Does it shut down after you put it into gear? I had an issue like that and it turned out to be the kickstand switch. If it happens while it idles in neutral, then it is most likely something else. I would recommend to see what other sites and forums are saying, as they are more knowledgeable than I. Best of luck to you in solving your issue!
I'm not certain as I only have access to the internet via phone at the moment, but try this number. 25312-38B01 I was able to find the part on partzilla. If I find out more later I'll link it. But my recommendation is to go to partzilla (just Google the name to find site) and it should lead you to the part. And sometimes it will display a diagram that you can use to visual the part. Best of luck!
@@TheScorchius this is the part for my 03 maybe you can learn from it for yours. number 42 and 43 www.sportlandmotorsports.com/oem-parts#/Suzuki_Motor_of_America%2c_Inc._-_MC-ATV/VL800_(2003)/GEAR_SHIFTING_(MODEL_K1%2f%2fK2%2f%2fK3%2f%2fK4)/VL800_(2003)/02009270022/y
Why did y change that switch ? My bike I turn it on and it runs good for about 4 to five mins and then it turns off and it won’t turn on unless I lift her up and lift the kickstand not sure why!!!
Hello, I don't remember the exact reason as it has been awhile but if I recall correctly I had issues with the neutral position and the light. I could put it in neutral but it wouldn't detect in neutral so whenever I put the kickstand down it would kill the bike even though it was in neutral. I believe it only started happening once the bike ran a bit and got warmed up. Sounds somewhat similar to what you are experiencing.
So,,, a faulty neutral switch will prevent a bike from starting? I have a new one arriving but,,, all other parts seems to be good. Let's see what happens. Seems to be the case from my investigation and on other forums. Will let you know.
I don't believe that should make a difference. It should be the same, although I think the model did change slightly between 2001 and 2002. But I would need to double check that, I'm probably wrong.
