It's absolutely because of the new hydro character releasing in Natlan lmaoo. Remember they did the same with Barbara and Nilou?

This is obviously to sell the new hydro character from Natlan There is literally no reason for this nerf to be THIS late (Update, hoyo is removing the 'bug fix' and giving a free 10 pull, YAS!)

Remember when Barbara got "fixed" after several years because her bloom generation was wild? Then they were like here's Nilou, she can do the thing we just took away from Barbara...

Neuvillette is the hydro dragon. He's as important as an archon! If you ask me, he's supposed to be the strongest hydro character in this game. Or at least on the same level as an archon, together with Furina. Having him being outdone by a new hydro character would be insane!

Changes dont affect me but I can see why some would be upset. As you said the long wait time in implementing the fix and the new character coming is a little sus considering Neuvi already had a banner rerun and hoyo didnt fix it then. Goodbye beyblade neuvi, you will be missed o7

I didn't use the beyblade thing coz I'm a mobile user and I'm not really that affected by the Neuvillette nerf. But the real issue here is that if Hoyo gets away with this now then there's a chance that in the future they'll do the same thing again to another character. Like go, "hey this character is too broken. Lemme just hocus focus send 100 primos and be apologize that we change this character way too late." I love Genshin Impact but if the game will continually be manage like this...I might fear that the characters I pull would lose their value just after a single patch after their release. Like, at least be lore accurate in the kits of characters who are clearly very important and very powerful in the game and not just disregard the lore to sell characters. Hoyo you got competition now so be careful.

The issue is not with the act of "fixing the bug" itself, but with the fact that Hoyo was aware of the bug yet did not release any information about fixing it. They let it persist for nearly a year, even after the character was re-released, leading players to believe it was normal to use this feature. Then, they suddenly fixed it without any warning.

So i watched mulani gameplay and unless her kit is crazy i hardly struggle to believe she could powercreep neuvilette. I think the reason behind the nerf is that mulani is very focused on mobility something that neuvilette hydro pump achieve easily with being able to rotate quick. Now he shouldnt be able to do that so that mulani can sustain her niche but its really not that impactfull because everyone that plays neuvilette position themself by being able to see every enemy on screen so it really doesnt matter. The only place that i can see this causing a problem is in waves content if the enemies spawns behind you but at worst you lose 1-2 seconds of dps. This is basically a non existent nerf and neuvilette still remains the strongest dps in the game.

It's not just the spinning they nerfed, but the range in general seems to have been nerfed. I was wondering yesterday when doing Spiral, why Neuvi wasn't taking out two enemies at the same time when their spacing usually isn't a problem.....and mine is C2 R1 but he struggled with AOE that's normally not a problem This is frustrating because I'm not a whale (BP & Welkin) and I saved up across 2 banners to invest into him more than my other characters precisely because his AOE is so good

I don't use the spin to win, but after this "fix" normal gameplay now seems slow and laggy when trying to turn around while using the charge attack. It feels pretty bad to use currently.

The "Fix" was ridiculous. Neuvillette is the Hydro Sovereign. HE should be the most OP hydro character. Not some new character coming out in 5.0. Well... Knowing HYV, they don't adhere to lore in characters in reality.

My inclination is to assume that a much larger part of why it came so late was likely due to internal discussion as to whether or not to fix it, or even properly implementing the fix without impacting other areas of the game, especially since it is something players enjoyed. Changing things like this (Comparatively minor, likely to impact other aspects of the game) rarely is a fast thing, and as someone who works in software, it is very easy for fixing things to get kicked months if not years down the line if it isn't considered a priority change.

the problem is that it affect normals players too. i noticed something was off yesterday i just thought that maybe it was because i didn't play him for a long time. having a low cam speed is one of the worst sensation.

Me using a PS4 controller (with a slow camera sensitivity even on max) still getting compensation: I see this as an absolute win (In all seriousness for those who did like using the Beyblade move, 8 months is way too long to “fix” it)

I don't use the bayblade thing but im happy to see that a lot of people (Including important people like the VAs) are starting to go against hyvs about multiple manners. And personally this is TOTALLY to sell the new character better I hope the CN side won't pull for her to boycott them or something (No hate to mulani she's adorable)

But it obviously poses a threat as to if genshin did that to neuvillette it can also do that to others characters as well.. infact they even did that with Barbara... Before nilou got released... It was again not questioned much because no one really uses Barbara anymore... And also it's a 4* character which doesn't mean much to players with high AR and community... But if genshin decides to do something similar in future just for more profit then it'll definitely raise more hate among the community.. and given how genshin ignores the community... It's a serious issue.. and genshin devs must come forward and give compensation over this nerf...

People here saying that they did this to make the new hydro dps seems powerful. I think it's just coincidence and I strongly doubt that we will be getting another dps as strong as Neuvilette this early. "but the leaks said so" they also said Wrio would powercrept Ayaka when his kit got leaked. However, fixing this "bug" after his rerun is definitely deliberate and scummy move to not harm his sell.

I deleted genshin Impact last night probably try it again when the entire fire region is out but for now I don’t care for what they’re doing.

Haven't tried their "fix" yet but I don't really use bayblade. If only a small amount of people are using this "bug" then it shouldn't even matter in the first place. I just want my attack to follow my mouse without delay. Is that too much to ask? The auto targeting system is already unreliable as it is. I just want my attack to hit what I want, when I want.

The turning speed nerf is going to affect more than spin-to-win people. Having the ability to turn on a time to face enemies spawning behind me was really useful, but now the capped turn speed has me concerned he'll stop firing before I can actually face my next targets since I only have him at C1. I am not pleased.

I could blame this on lack of communication that this was a bug and the devs being slow at implementing changes. Or it was actually intentional that they waited for so long to change it. I can believe both.

I think that's bc it affects the speedrun strategies. You have to know Genshin speedrun community in CN is truly something else.

In my opinion, this was definitely a bug that needed fixing because it was only possible on PC with a gaming mouse that could scale up in DPI. They should've fixed it earlier, but I think it was more about not endangering his rerun than wanting to sell a new character.

They had a notice months ago about this anf that it'd be fixed eventually. Can't do the spin to win on console and not everyone on mobile could do it. Zeroing in one something that's exploited on one platform can take a hot minute to fix.

Tbh, the Neuvi "nerf" my only thing is maybe someone got a Seizure or epilepsy cuz of it. I know thats why some content creators dont show it as gameplay cuz it hurts to watch. So maybe thats the reason.

That Beyblade method isn’t even possible on all devices - I enjoy genshin on my PS4, and I was never able to spin around like a beyblade. It’s kinda weird they didn’t see the differences earlier. Fixing this issue is not the main problem - it’s the point of time they chose to tackle the issue, making it seem like a way to push the sales for the new character Mualani a little further. And that sucks. A lot.

It’s because of sigwinne She spins in her ult, and she spin much slower so that why, it’s not because of 5.0, the hydro character in 5.0 got leaked (for everyone) she has no mechanics that spin like him, so why blame her?

I don't use this method, but I think this was an idiotic change as it's not even a glitch, just something you can potentially do with a good mouse. Doing this right before that new Hydro Girl is especially shameless.

Hoyoverse said they would cancel this "fix" and give 1.600 primogems in a sibsequent update. I personally always found this spinning thing unpleasant to the eyes and weord but at least they acknowledged changing it so far without a word was weird enough. You won guys

for me it's not about the "bug" of spin-to-win, I rarely use it on mobile, mostly in abyss 11-1 only. the real issue is on how they "fixed" it. they literally just slowed down his rotation speed, so high dpi mouse users won't spin to win anymore. the problem is it affected his normal gameplay, he no longer can chase enemies dashing left and right, that's a huge dps loss and don't say "just play kazuha", I won't play kazuha and never will, I don't hate the dude, I just don't want to pull for him. some people don't notice it cuz they are probably playing him differently, like using aforementioned kazuha trick of grouping enemies, but if you do not have a grouper, goodbye to that damage and get stuck in one direction just to not waste the team rotation.

On mobile and pc it's noticable 😢

Going to educate some people here, because they cant understand basic logic. Something that works only on pc, can harm the players with motion sickness being removed is a nerf? But Hoyo needs to answer this: why do that after the RERUN of the character almost 1 year later? They really know the playerbase is really clueless, so they did sell the character again because they know their players couldnt comprehend that his spin was an obvious bug? They did on purpose, theres no way. Edit: It was not because Mualani. Her calcs are out, she destroys Neuvillette without any problem.

Even on phone he feels a bit janky to reposition. The movement is fine as long as he is charging but once the hydro pump starts you can feel the slowing movement. This was scummy on Hoyoverse's part. If this was a bug as mentioned by Hoyo, they should have said something after his release, with a note that it will be patched in the upcoming versions.

Basically mihoyo committed fraud and expect a 10 pull to quite down the community so they don't sue them.

1:45 it’s impossible to collect data on HOW people use their character. And by “how” I don’t mean like healer neuvillette or something related to his build, but like if you’re using him with Yun Jin as a normal attacker or with Xianyun as a plunge attacker they can’t get data on that because they don’t know how you’re controlling your character. So that simply isn’t the reason they decided to nerf this.

Before anyone says it, I don't think this was due to a "threat of lawsuit", because the "lawsuit" word came from the NGA forums and those guys are anti hoyo everything. (There probably wasn't a lawsuit to begin with.) This is probably just player backlash. This is the second time hoyo rollbacked a bug. First being Yae. This is also the 3rd time Hoyo spent so long in fixing a "bug". First being Barbara's E having "abormal application" 3 years after release.

I believe a part of it was because people saying they wont pull for characters because of the whitewashing/culture appropiation, I really hate hoyo

genshin added a replay dialogue in case you skip a dialogue by accidentally tapping the screen after 4 fucking years and fixing a bug after 6-7 patches is nothing compared to that also, none of his damage, abilities, multipliers, hp or any of his stats are changed, so it is not a nerf. just a bug exploited mostly by pc players.

I just confuse why some people say the new Natlan Hydro girl gonna powercreep Neuvilette First, its not even a problem in Gacha game some newer character powercreep the old one Second, i don't think she gonna powercreep Neuvilette since his charged attack is so busted with AoE type Third, the only one who success powercreep the archon is Kazuha to Venty -Raiden is still at the top for Electro -Nahida with her consistent Dendro apply and EM boost -Zhongli with his Unbreakable shield, one of the reason many players losing the ability to dodge 😂

If this New "Hydro Character" is more special than Neuvilette and also more powerful than an archon it will surely have a backlash when it's just a normal person rather than a powerful being compared to Neuvilette

The nerf is ridiculous. Now he can't even rotate fast enough for 180° frontal enemies. He used to wipe out around 180°-270° before. He rotates super slow now🦥. It is not about spinning, his entire range got nerfed.

I didn’t even know about this feature and I used him a lot during his release for abyss (I play on mobile though)
