I was close, had Loyola vs Cincinnati in the sweet 16. Most unlikely pick I've had pan out was picking 14 seed Stephen F. Austin in 2016.

No disrespect to Texas, they played a hard fought game and hit some big shots. The officiating in this game should be examined. Many poor no calls and the 2 fouls called on NV after TX made their 3 shots were ridiculous.

Robert Johns How about Bamba's last two fouls? Both were clean blocks but the refs basically gave Nevada the game

18:45 in the 2nd half Coleman clearly shoves the defender in the back on the way to the hoop (foul) no call. Around 1:28 Osetkowski plows over the defender, clearly a player control charge and no call. As fans of opposing teams, we're obviously biased towards our own. It's probably fair to say the officiating was less than ideal overall. It was for sure a game changer when Bamba fouled out.

While the TX guards played awesome and shot the lights out, that offense should've gone through Bamba and 'Owski. They would've shot a million free throws and fouled out all of NV's starters.

Texas lost because of basic fundamentals with defense and rebounding. You can even see it down the stretch. Missed boxout at 8:48. Gave up drive to the lane at 9:00. Gave up another drive middle at 9:09. They are talented and have an offensive advantage with their big men but that same advantage is a huge disadvantage because they don't know how to close out properly. Watched it happen over and over and over again

In the highest-profile sports, football and basketball, yes. They do have great athletic programs in lower-profile sports however, including college baseball. But basketball has 1 Final Four in 70 years and they've defined mediocrity in football over the past 8-9 seasons.
