Good advice for any situations in life where you are challenged and don't perform as you would like, not just fights.

Very good advice. This reminds me of a guy called Geoff Thompson who was a bouncer in England Coventry. He would say that even amateur boxers would lose courage during a conflict in the club/bar scene, even though they had the physical capability to destroy the overweight guy. However it was the aggressive behaviour, swearing and posturing that would make boxers just get dominated. I think people shy away from swearing and confrontation testing in martial arts.

I've been training boxing for 2 years. I know my stamina, power, speed, etc through training. I still feel the fear whenever being confronted, and choose not to engage and escalate the situation into a fight, because I dont know the other person, he might have a weapon, or someone that has done more training than I have, or is a pro fighter, etc. However, I feel angry at myself for walking away from it afterwards. Do you guys get that feeling?

The feeling you get when someone tries to get on you but you try not to engage and stuff? I used to deal with the same thing, always would get upset right after, but now I realized this, unless if that guy really tries to fight you...you have actually done a good choice because you know you could easily hurt him. So jst don't worry about it and just move on, I also did boxing for 1 year and am 17 btw

Nick, I am much better at the shadow-fighting type of visualization. The sit down one doesn't usually work for me because I'm not sure how to do it and it ends up with over-thinking it, so it backfires and creates a more negative effect.

This video is incredibly insightful and empowering! The way you break down the concept of fear and explain that it’s not something to eliminate but to embrace as a survival tool is spot-on. Your emphasis on the importance of training both the mind and body, along with visualizing real-life scenarios, offers a practical and holistic approach to self-defense. The advice to stay present and control negative thoughts is not only applicable to street fights but to life challenges in general. It’s a powerful reminder that preparation, mindset, and confidence make all the difference. Great job!
