Whether the "true saviour" is Ryu or Luke (or Alex) depends on whether Capcom thinks the fanbase would accept it being someone who hasn't been the poster child of the franchise since the late 80s.

Hate to say it, Max, but its obvious from 3rd Strike that Oro made Ryu his pupil. He could also easily be talking about anyone; Ken, Ryu, Alex, Sakura etc. Anyone who are untainted from evil can lead the world into a better future, you just have to find the right one to do the job.

If I'm remembering right, Oro doesn't just keep one arm bound for a challenge- it's so that he doesn't accidentally kill his opponent.

This man made me interested in fighting games. I saw how much an arcade gamepad would cost where I live and a little bit expensive, specially when I already have a normal gamepad that works mighty fine.

To be honest, I think I'm actually more interested in Street Fighter's story right now than it as a game.

Don't worry Max, if you're sick of Ryu being the hero, you can play the Street Fighter 3 series where Alex is the protagonist.

It would be cool if for SF6 they mde Ryu more of a Gouken style character. I know they won't since he is THE shoto and has to remain a basic starter character, but they could include old ryu as an alt like Kage?

I thought Oro was talking about Ryu, but now that you're mentioning it, Luke does seem to be the one he's talking about. Though Ryu did get rid of the Dark Hadou in SFV, knowing Capcom, it might be Ryu. Since he's the face of Street Fighter.

Ok, but what if they completely swerve us and go a whole other route with this. What if it’s Sakura. In her story, she talks to Ryu about having a family and saying it’s a type of strength. She’s both pure of heart and pure of mind, she has never been (canonically) corrupted.

I've always seen Street Fighter Five as a prequel to Street Fighter Third Strike. Here we see Ryu and Ken, but Sean isn't fighting in the Hado style yet, and in the story, he's seemingly younger than the other games he's been in. Here we see Kolin working with Urien before she betrays him to work for Gill. We see Gill rise to power in SFV after Bison's been defeated and Shadaloo is no longer the 'main threat'. G reveals himself as someone with 'true strength' searching for strong fighters to challenge his power given to him directly by the planet. Rose has dark premonitions about G and the future of the world, somehow connecting him to the apocalypse. I think Luke is a red herring here, and G is going to be the 'main protagonist' of Street Fighter 6's story. He'll be the 'one pure of heart and mind, who has achieved true strength', and he'll have to sacrifice all that power, the Power of Gaia, to save the world itself. It'll leave him as a husk of what he once was, an abomination. He'll start melting away and his mind will devolve into a sort of madness. He'll become Q, and he'll still be wandering, seeking strong fighters to test his strength, even though it's no longer there. SF1, SF2, SF 4, SF5, SF6, SF3, that's the order of Street Fighter's story.

Oro "samba" accents in his theme are both surprising (more refreshing i should say) and very good they done it

I'd be totally down with having Luke being the presumed hero of the future if they write him in a way that makes sense. A young and untamed soul, but still pure of untainted influences. Heck, they can build off the one line his trailer started with as being inspired by Ryu's performance in previous SF tournaments and if we believe any of it, the basis of how Capt. Commando started.

A man who fights only for the purpose of getting stronger, not for money, fame or power... could it be... Is Zangeif the legendary hero who is destined to save the world? (Eh, It's probably Ryu)

It would be hilarious if the person with a pure soul, seeking strength for its own sake... was actually Akuma. He doesn't fight for money, he doesn't fight for world domination, and neither does he fight for justice or any noble cause. He simply seeks to perfect his strength. In a sense, his soul is very pure. Clearly he is the hero humankind needs to face the upcoming crisis. Oh, and the crisis is probably G becoming a monster due to Bison's lingering influence. Turns out G actually really is the representative of the world, in that he is sort of a manifestation of the collective will of mankind, which gets distorted by Bison's ghost powers corrupting people worldwide or so.

Psycho power being the equivalent of evil and corruption makes sense. Psycho sounds a lot like the Greek word "Psyche" meaning soul. Darkness is part of us, whether we want to believe that or not. This might be what G is getting at. Why his win quotes can get oddly specific with some characters. We the people have our own struggles to overcome Whether you overcome that darkness or submit to it, depends on the person. I got all philosophical there...

I reckon it's Dhalsim that saves the world. He's pure of mind and spirit, he's saved people in his community more than once, he is always seeking further enlightenment (his way of getting stronger) and Oro told him to "dispense of pessimism", which is possibly Oro sowing the seeds of ultimate heroism in Dhalsim.

I'm calling it now, Dan will be the villain of Street Fighter VI and he will have Bisons psycho power.

I see....I see....so Oro is a bad mofo with a sense of fashion better than any of us can handle, can kicks ass, gets the ladies and taught Master Oogway everything he knows just by letting him chill in his hand and on his head. Also on top of that, he lets you know after giving you the hands,"You see that ass whupping I just gave you..? That took centuries in the making, get on my level, Sonny." That's a true legend right there.

So desk just showed off a VT2 trick for Oro: some of his special items refill a tiny bit of V-Gauge on hit. If the RNG gives him multiples of these items, Tengu Midare Stone can be unnaturally extended to the point of creating 1000-stun combos.

I am still hung up on Rose's ending though. If Rose is set on starting from zero and Oro must find a person pure of heart and mind... Then maybe the reboot will be about them trying to find said person, and we'll get to see a more cinematic telling of the events of previous Street Fighter games, and we get to see how Oro ends up finally picking Ryu, making SF3 the endgame of the timeline where the end of all doesn't happen.
