In today's video its a cold horrible Friday morning and our little international 275 scraper tractor is not very well. She is need of a few repairs and instead of fixing on farm the mechanic has decided he will swap ours with his.

Brilliant, love the massey 35. We have 2 at home. Double wheel's go on during the summer for turf contracting in the bog. Best little tractor ever. 💪🏼

When u were reversing and it were squeaking the 35s have a lil issue with the brakes so every now and then hook ur foot under the brake pedal and lift up that’ll stop the squeaking ours does it Aswell

My cousin has a 1959 MF35 all it does now is carry a huge set of jump leads to start the new John Deere’s in the winter because if they aren’t used every day the battery goes flat, it does get a bit cold up on the Staffordshire moorlands.

yea the mf tractors in general ae built like tanks we have 3 of them one is not a hole tractor but it sat in a pile of stuff and know we puled it out and its still like a tank they are not lawn tractors they are small tank tractors basically t bet if you blew one up half of it would be there.

Our 35 was the best tractor we ever had, they could add some round lamps either side of the front grill, transport box on the back...perfect. Dad sold it cos it was pretty. Still have one but it’s an easy start addict 🤭

My great grandad, angels rest him, had a 50s or 60s something McCormick Farmall 100 for the smaller jobs the farm needed. When I was round 11, he taught me to drive it and put me to work. We sold it to another farmer when grandad passed who restored it and uses it as a hayride tractor for the Autumn seasons and for back road plowing come winter. These old girls sort of remind me of that tractor, and it's a good, fond, comforting memory.

I learnt to drive on one of the old 4 pot TVO Fergies when I was 14...couldn't reach the pedals before that lol Great little tractor and fun to drive. Good to see you giving the old 275 some much needed TLC, she works hard for her upkeep and doesn't ask for much. My experience of farm workshops (in my youth) is that you can't get in there after a couple of years for all the clutter and bits of unfinished machinery and in one corner a rather nice albeit front ended E Type Jag...GOOD DAYS!

Tom a real issue is that all of the newer tractors have too much electronics on them to be a good scraper tractor. Let a new tractor set out in the rain with manure around it and soon it will not run/work. We have a Ferguson TO30 that was the only tractor my Maternal Grand Father ever owned. Now it can do very little on our farm. Time change and it is bigger /higher horsepower.

I learnt to drive a Farmall at about the age of 5ish and there was not a lot of power steering nor could I reach the peddles - it was put into gear and I used the revs to make it go faster or slower - I was sometime the driver on a Sunday when the irrigation pipes were being put out - my grandfather brought when he retired his draft horse

Our Massey ferguson did 30 years on the one engine and a lot of hours in that time, ploughing, she had a loader on her for a long time, digging spuds, off to the creamery, she only does a bit of scraping now so hoping to get at last 60 years out of this engine 🤞

No belt probably means no water pump. No wonder perhaps that there is something wrong with the engine. No worries though because you now have a proper tractor with really quick and easy steering and super high performance engine and super-fast linkage lift [comparatively speaking]. No foot throttle on the 35 usually though, which is an essential for quick scraping. Standard fitting fon 135 from around 1972. You are looking at a couple of thousand bill to repair the Inter I reckon if the engine needs an overhaul.

the original glow plug resister was about 3x bigger, probably why the new little ones are always breaking

For the first time. I must pull your dad up there. The MF35 is much more, than a glorified grey fergi. The back end and rear axle where much reworked. For the first time draft and position control was available. Live hydraulics and pto, increased its working scope enormously. It had a high/low box. The pto can be driven by ground speed, for precise planting. It had a modern heat system and one of the most reliable diesel engines ever. By comparison. The grey fergi is like a prototype.

@Lancashirelad the 4 cylinder can be improved. By adding a proper heater plug. Rather than the old kigas system. I know a grey and gold that starts first time. Even in frost. But the 3 cylinder is a much better bet.

na dont use easy start, just take a little time to service her and find the issue thats the best way, fergy 35’s go on for ever, nice little bomb proof things. we ran fergys right till we sold up,never let us down with some care taken doing services

If you want a nicer, safer alternative to easy start Tom, use brake cleaner! Learnt that from a mechanic, and works effectively! 👍

Yes, ginger guy, loves the mechanics of farming. He has said that if he had not gone into farming he would have liked to study mechanical engineering. I do not understand the advantages of a three cylinder vs. four cylinder tractor. Wheel base and stability are another concern. What suprised me was that there was no fence or baling wire fixing the old tractor.
