@@mao6942 I'd also say the starting weapon pair is not too bad, ion + a 2 damage laser, with a weapon reloaded or two it becomes very scary, you can kill ships up to 2 shields with this easily.

@@Talking_Ed The starting weapon pair is terrible. Heavy ion's extra damage has no practical benefit over an ion blast, but requires twice as much power and takes 5 seconds longer to charge. Until then, the heavy laser (which _is_ a good weapon) is useless until you can get those shields down. God forbid you miss any of your shots. Every other ship can at least damage a 2-shielded enemy with its default weapons, without having be lucky enough to find a reloader. To make heavy ion "stack," you either need a reloader and a weapons guy with max skill, or a weapons guy and _two_ reloaders. Too bad Engi B doesn't even start with enough crew to have a weapons operator. Everything about its design is terrible synergy.

It's not that bad. Just replace your weapons with some flak and burst, replace your drones with defense and attack drones, get a fully functioning mantis boarding party, level three shields, cloaking, and weapon preigniter all before sector five and its a really good ship! :smile:

If the ship can't pierce 2 shields, then what in the world is the pike beam going to do?

@@A1phaz0ne The pike beam allows damage through to the next level of shield. It's starting weapons can suppress two shields, but can't pierce them. The Pike beam allows you to deal damage against 2 shield ships, which will help until you find more weapons.

@@RayramAureanBlue Sir thats the Halberd. Pike beam is just a very long reaching 1 damage beam, no shield piercing.

@@KoopaKrump Yes, I'm aware of that, read what I said again. Pike + Heavy Ion and Heavy laser can pierce two shields is what I meant. I was not saying the pike beam can pierce shields on its own. Also, if we're talking about weapons that can pierce two shields on its own, the Halberd beam can't do that either. Edit: Also with hacking, this weapon combo is viable.

Unless it has changed, shorter videos usually do better. I'd guess it's just more convenient to upload the full thing and keeps the channel less cluttered. There are some sights that hides the time bar to make it spoiler free (usually for sports), but you can't pick the videos on the sites I know of.
