@@tdome3000 The double desks are open on both ends! When you see the Alien start the animation for the search you can back out and crouch behind the cabinets on the side, where the alien won't be able to see you while he looks under the desk. Then you can go back under the desk again. I do this all the time. Double desks and corner desks are phenomenal hiding spots.
Only in my 8th playthrough, the second or third on nightmare, I found out that the Alien can duck and look under tables! Imagine my total schock, up until then, for hundreds of hours of playtime, I was feeling relatively safe under them!! In that paythrough I saw it do it twice, the first time in that exact location as in the video, and both times I was under the opposite table so in the end the alien didn't get me. All playthroughs on various consoles, so no mods there. Just finished it for the first time on xbox on nightmare yesterday. Every time it's an adrenaline fest, it never gets old.
It got far enough away from that table that it could see you. If you can see the alien's 'face' it can see you. It took a few seconds, once it ran over it lost sight of you again..
welll, that was the worst desk in that room to hide under..... I always use one of the ones in the middle in case it decides to look under. You have a couple of seconds and can easily be out of sight and then duck back under as soon as it stands up. My playstyle is that that I hate proper hiding. I use everything around me and..... well I've 'hidden' in some really not well hidden places, but it's in a blind spot. Still makes me a little tense when I'm crouched between a box and a trolley in an open corridor and can't move lol
@@DJ_3592 Problem is the more you use them the more likely it is that it's going to check them. On harder difficulties you barely get a second to hold your breath and sometimes.... yeah, it just gets you anyway. It's why I prefer blind spots to lockers since it's a matter of a chance of being able to slip past vs having to sit tight and hope. Though, ultimately there's only a range of options and nothing is guaranteed in that game. XD
@@misschieflolz1301 another thing with lockers is that you can only use the motion detector in blind spots you have opportunities to use the flamethrower shotgun and molotovs as well as noisemakers
When you play on the highest difficulties you already can't hide from it. You have to keep moving. I don't see making it easier for it to find you with a mod making the game more fun but that is me. It doesn't make it scarier, just more annoying.
No, you don't have to keep moving all the time. I've played it maybe 10 times and 3-4 times on nightmare, and I still find it too easy on nightmare. Hiding is no problem. Btw, I always double-save, so if he kills me (which happens very rarely) I load the older savegame, so he doesn't remember anything about killing me.
@@tdome3000 first of all the double save thing is not really a good thing (you can load the safe before your safe), otherwise what's the penalty. Second of all if I hide in lockers or under the tables in nightmare mode the alien spots me very easily.
@@GicN The double save is really a good thing. It seems like you don't really know how to get all the trophies/achievements in this game. And if the alien can spot you so easily, even in the lockers, then I don't even know how you play in general.
@@GicN The Alien has no x-ray in nightmare mode, and the lockers are not more transparent, so they function exactly the same all the time. If he "spots" you then that means you have run out of health while holding your breath. You have have to know how to track your health in nightmare mode in your head, otherwise you don't know how to play this game.
