Does it matter if your title is not mentioned? I think we need to be respectful etc. Living abroad, and working with lots of professionals, my consultants were not keen on being referred to by the titles. We called them by their first names in clinical meetings but most Africans always referred to professionals as Dr This or That.
In our society we care and that is why Dr. cared, even in the abroad is not always the same from my experience I work here in Qatar and when I worked in an American company they addressed you by your first name, and no one picked offense, from there I proceeded to an Arabic company and my first letter to the project manager(he is from The philipines) I addressed him by his first name and he was angry about it that why didn't I address him as engineer. So madam I think it matters in some society while others don't care.
I could tell you are a Ghanaian from your name. Don’t pretend you don’t know that it’s a cultural thing. This is the problem with a lot of African women in the western world. They are very quick to jettison their culture for new one they’ve just become aware of without much thought.
