Lourdés is absolutely fine! Tonic was a legend! My Instagram: montgomerythe3rd ONLY 5, BUT 17.2! MONSTER Horse practices XC out on a Hack | Equestrian • ONLY 5, BUT 17.2! MONS... r
That chestnut was a handful. I rode a flea bitten grey like that a few years back, carted you sideways to jump anything so much as a matchstick on the ground ! Fantastic fun though, enjoyed the video.
Admire your restrained reaction when you landed in the hedge. I would have sworn much more. Glad that your horse gained more confidence during the day. Your second horse Tonic seems a lovely sort.
trust me its really not that bad, and you dont have too jump. all you do is hang on and gallop. if you have a spinner rearer or kicker it is harder but all they wanna do is go forward and they are exited, as i said yu js gotta hang on
Thank you for the video. I think that hedge was bigger than Lourdes. At least she went over the rest! Tonic is such a kaud back horse. He's young, but he tries everything! Is there anyway, you show us what he looks like now? He must of filled out and all muscles now. Thank you again!
I think a good dose of hunting is incredible for a young horse and their education and confidence. It asks them to get in and out of anything in sometimes horrid conditions underfoot and take what ever is presented to them. Tonic was obviously bred for the job. He’s so cool calm and capable.
Tonic is a gem! You are a talented rider. Take care of each other. Great videos. I used to hunt in SC…I am too old now. Your videos are wonderful, thank you!
Man, that hedge looked bigger than your horse lol! Fair play to you and her! That sort of thing is why I always used to prefer taking my dad’s 18hh out instead of my own pony… bigger horse makes the jumps look smaller imo 🤣
So bloody game over there in the old country! Don't know if we have anything like that here in Oz. Not that I'd be trying it mind you but it looked absolutely awesome! Loved the way you all just go flying through all that mud! The jumps also look massive but at least you can hit a hedge and hopefully horse stays on its feet. Totally loved this video. Thank you!
Thank you for providing some vim and vigor in my life. I’m currently living on the Upper East Side of Manhattan which is a lot of fun but there isn’t much ‘horse and country’ happening here. Some lovely dogs in Central Park tho’….
Jessica Pratt ... The think to do when out hunting, well so I found out, was to let the horse do the work. You are not in a show ring and there are lots of others around you. Point the horse and let him sort it out for you.
Especially the second time you go over! It's so easy to lose your nerve jumping or hunting and I know many really good riders who lose their nerve and never get it back!.
Good ol' sammy Twiston Davis at 9:50 on the chestnut.. he's a proper national hunt jockey and hunter! Look like you had a good day, second horses looks more forward and able to get better speed at jumps and hedges with less horses around. First horses looks like so much stopping and starting
Horses and riders must be very fit. I'm fit but not riding fit so I could probably only gallop one of those fields(without the jumps) and that'd be the end of me or at least a rest and a cuppa before carrying on! lol
5:49 i'm not much of a horse expert but i have a horse of my own and they shouldn't be cantering on the road, its bad for there feet, but other wise beautiful horse!
We always used to hunt in double bridles, nice to see one on the grey... I hope that you gave your horse's legs a THOROUGH check up when you got home...Thorns can be a serious problem if left in..!
@@carm3leon What you mean is, it allows the rider to inflict more pain with less effort. I guess that's nice, if you're into that. Certainly not nice for the horse.
@@pumpkinhead8593 A double bridle doesn't always mean more pain for the horse, it depends on which one you decide to get and the expertise of the rider. I do admit that jumping with a double bridle isn't exactly the best option out of the bunch.
@@carm3leon Which ones don't cause pain? What would be the point if they didn't? The only reason a double bridle gives you more control is that it gives the rider more leverage and allows for more pressure and pain to be inflicted on the horse's mouth. What other reason is there for using a double bridle?
Yes it does. It's fine though, she loves it. Also loves being whipped, spurred and having a metal bit tear up her mouth at the hands of a rider who got buzzed before getting on. It's fun, those horses are having a great time. The fox loves it too, I'm sure. Getting chased and torn apart is always a good day out.
it's fine to ride on that kind of hard ground with gentle riding for short amount of times. it's quite common in the uk to trot or walk down the road. this isnt smth you should do for long hours nor do galloping. it can benefit your horse and also help condition it to diff grounds. in the video is def not something to be doing on the daily
They are hunting foxes, although they will claim they're only trail hunting. The Ledbury hunt especially is quite notorious for getting caught red handed killing foxes. There are plenty of clues that show what they're really up to (although they're not really trying very hard to hide it, they know they can get away with it). Tons of foot followers waiting to witness a kill, terrier men following, the field following a "trail" that was for some reason laid across busy roadways and railroad tracks (why?), using fox hounds (there's no reason to use fox hounds over blood hounds when trail hunting, blood hounds have the superior noses, the only thing they lack compared to fox hounds is speed and agility which is needed to catch a fox). Don't let the title of the video fool you, this is an illegal fox hunt, and these are a bunch of sick psychos out hoping to see a terrified animal chased to exhaustion and then ripped apart alive.
@@pumpkinhead8593 they dont hunt, thats why most protestors look ridiculous as they have no clue that the hounds follow a scent trail made for them. if they were actually hunting you bet the press would be making news on his videos but they arent because they are not hunting. even if the were, hunting isn't ilegal. its illegal to let the dogs rip them apart but its legal to shoot the foxes.
Breanna Ciborowski ... If you notice, the "long whips" known as hunting whips, have a handle on the end, usually bone or ivory. This is to help to open and close gates. It is used as a hook and can be very helpfull in the field (if necessary)
English saddles: pretty. Western & Aussi saddles: practical. But also, we check our horses well if they have an accident before continuing. Lastly, good idea to open the gate when there's a gate.
depends on breed. Lighter breeds such as arabs or Thoroughbreds would maybe be too young. However, for heavier breeds like most of them in this video (irish types) have thicker bone structure etc so are able to take this sort of work easier. I am not sure what breed his horses are, but he knows his horses better than any of us
@@---td5fg Of course it depends on bone size BUT JOINTS ARE MORE IMPORTANT here from a long term point of view ... from fetlocks to shoulders and fetlocks to hips.
Ah yes nothing like riding out and seeing a fox ripped to shreds by a pack of dogs. Oh wait it's a "trail hunt." 😂 Really dont understand the need to kill animals for fun.
It was hounds tracking the scent left by man, who volunteers to do so. Hunting animals this way has been illegal for years. This was clearly stated in the first video, Brittany.
I get that the first horse was bait of a handful but when you fell off you swore at the horse like its all their fault and yes I'm not saying your horrible for being mean to it but the horse did its best it could and even when it went over it after probably knocking its confidence you didn't even say well done once to it throughout the whole trial, I'm not saying your a bad rider or you can't do it properly but when my horse refuses or does something wrong by accident I just think its never the horses fault . don't get me wrong your an amazing rider and I said it in the nicest way I could think.
Do u think horses in the wild when they fall down they stay there forever and not move? No they are gonna get up and try again until they complete it. And if ur playing football and u lose a game, are you going to not play again? No ur going to keep trying
@Macki-cg4pr what😂 srsly did u read my comment, its about a damn hedge which is terribly high which made horse fall and couldve caused broken bones or more, this rider decides to do it again and just doesn't give a fuck about his horses safety, this isn't about wild horses or football?? Like read little buddy
