Nevus of Ota is a condition where hyperpigmentation occurs around the eye and sometimes in the eye itself. Hyperpigmentation is when some patches of skin are darker than the surrounding skin.

Hi. Absolutely. Q Switched Ndyag is very effective in treating Riehl's Melanosis/Ashy Dermatosis/LPP complex. Most important is to avoid laser when the disease is active. The results depend on the type and extent of the pigmentation. It has to be stabilized with medications and then laser for pigmentation.

Hi Doctor it was great job that you have done with your patient. I have Nevus of Ota on my right side of face. Currently am going through pico laser, my doctor is saying we can have session for every 15days. Is it fine we can have the session for every 15 days. Hi. Q-Switched laser is safe around the eyes if done by a professional. Strictly avoid it on the eyelids/eyeball. You can talk to your Dermatologist about the option of Corneal shields.

Hi. Sometimes you see tiny scabs formation after the laser which fall off after few days. In case you are noticing white spots which are staying for long period. Do tell your Dermatologist regarding the same. He might change his parameters.

Hi. Ya it is normal. Your doctor will advise you some depigmenting cream during the course of the laser treatment. You can use topical anesthetic cream before laser to reduce pain.

Hi. It is normal to get such spots after the laser treatment. It usually takes 8 to 10 sessions. But number depends on the severity of the pigmentation.

@@ruchij2329 Hi. The patient in the video has Nevus of OTA. We don't use Co2 laser in Ota. Becker Nevus is a different condition which is difficult to treat. Many Dermatologists prefer combination treatment with QSNYL & Co2

Hi Doctor. This is Mayesha, currently residing in Bangladesh. I have been diagnosed with Nevus of Ota on my right cheek surrounding my eyes and on the right side of my nose. Currently, I have had only one laser (Q switched, picoplus) session by Doctor Geronemus from Laser Skin Surgery Center of New York. So far, I have not noticed any difference. However I was told at least multiple sessions would be required to make significant change. Due to my line of work, travelling to NY as frequently is not possible. On the contrary, travel to India is far more feasible for me and your expertise seems quite inspiring. I was wondering, how i shall proceed. If you would kindly let me know?
