New 2020 Google Nest Thermostat Review!

I finally decided to get it during Memorial Day sale. Since I have dual zone, I needed 2 units. 2 units, 2 plastic plates for the back, and 4 year warranty for each.. all for the price of 1 learning thermostat. 😂 Good thing PG&E offered coupons so I got 1 unit for $30 with the sale price too.

9:00 I have a crazy theory on why they don’t work. This thermostat came after the announcement that ADT and Google will be working together moving forward for 7 years. And right before this thermostat came out ADT came out with their new Blue alarm, which has a temperature/flood sensor BUT they never activated the temp sensor of that device…. I wonder if they were planning (and still might activate now that the Google equipment works with ADTs “Blue” sys they call it ADT+ SSU now) for that temp/flood sensor to take the place of the temp sensor Nest made. Like I said, it’s a crazy theory with nothing to back it up yet. Only time will tell…

How can you lock this thermostat?

I've been trying to find a lock mode on it so nobody changes the settings. Is this not in its software?

Have you experienced any issues so far from not having a C wire? I've had the Google nest for 3 days now and seems to work fine without it.

How do you add heating cause mines only have cooling

I bought a 2020 model and it's impossible to control the temperature, every roomate wants different temperatures ALL the FRICKING time... they walk into it and change it from 68 to heat it up to 72 in the middle of the night, some burn in their room while others just get cozy, ALL I wanted was to set 69F from 9pm to 8am. But there's no PIN lock option, so be aware...

Did u successfully connect the sensor to the thermostat? My sensor only allows me to setup In nest app. And my thermostat only allows setup in Google home. Support claims it's not compatible because Google is manufacturing this model thermostat and nest is manufacturing the sensor. Any hacks?

Hey like your video! Thanks for the walkthrough. I have a question, does the nest 2020 thermostat has lower fan speed on auto mode comparing to the manual fan on mode?

Will it control furnace blower ON/OFF? My humidifier is mist kind and requires heat and blower working together with humidifier. My humidifier also requires furnace blower to work a couple minutes after humidifier switches off automatically to distribute all the moisture collected in the duct. If blower stops the same time with mist humidifier moisture still will sit inside plenum and makes it rust. Will this Humidifier Control have this setting so furnace blower work few minutes after humidifier switched off??
