The SLR 9 e-tap is a very expensive option. The SLR 6 is built on the same frame, but it's half the price. After replacing the saddle with Bontrageg Aeolus Pro, the weight difference is minimal. I tested it, and riding on the frame from the OCLV 800 is a real experience. The bike is already booked.
No one can run 40mm tires on 19.5mm internal width. & 19.5 is way less width in today's standard. But enough for 30's or even 32's which this bike is designed for anyway.
I am 5ft 8 with inseam of 30” what size would you recommend 54 or 52 but the H 1.5 fit they describe as more aero ? So unsure if it’s too aggressive or not how did it feel I’m only looking at the cheaper SL 5 maybe stretch budget to the SL 6
@@g4rymw110 Hi Gary, based only on your inseam (is that from floor to crotch?) I would say 50cm to 52cm, based on your height 52cm or 54cm. It will depend on your flexibility and general fitness too, you may need a 54cm if you have tight hammys or back issues. Check out our video to measure your inseam at home: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SMLgRWJ3ewo.html Trek also offer a sizing guide on their website on the Emonda pages: www.trekbikes.com/b2b/gb/en_GB/bikes/road-bikes/performance-road-bikes/%C3%A9monda/%C3%A9monda-sl/%C3%A9monda-sl-5/p/32560/?colorCode=bluedark_blue
Cyclefit UK ok thanks, the seatpost might a problem , not much adjustment so got to get the right saddle height as trek apparently will not exchange it , you have to then buy an additional bigger or smaller one to suit if it’s wrong, I’ll look into this, wanted a tcr but this new Trek model looks great and thrown a spanner into the works as they say, now I’ve got a dilemma, Giant or Trek, thanks
Gary Warnock we always set the bike up with the correct seatmast before collection, and stem length too. We recommend a Cyclefit first and then we select the correct sized frame and components.
It is a Project One colour option ICON/Amplified Alchemy - its an £1,100.00 upcharge. Quite an amazing pourple and blue depending on the angle you view the bike from.
I have had the Trek Émonda SLR 9 Project One (Di2) for 6 weeks now and I can honestly say that the bike looks beautiful - it is a bike made for glossy reviews or magazine articles for sure - BUT it rides and sounds like a pig. It is a bone shaker even with just 90psi in the 28mm tyres. The disc brakes are all power and no finesse or feel and the drive train is the noisiest I have ever known plus when coasting the free hub sounds like a chainsaw at full tilt. Other than that it is fine. Except for the saddle which is shit. Oh, and unless you ride up steep climbs at 22km/h and 350W then the aero tweaks matter not a jot. Dream bike? Not for me. Way overrrated and way way over priced. Now there is an honest review for you! Serotta bikes, now they were beautiful AND functional works of art. NB. I didn’t buy mine from the boys at Cyclefit so maybe that is the problem!😉
