I completely agree. It's all going to come down to durability. If they can make this thing tough then I think they'll have a winner

They should take advantage of licensing and scale body's, I'm thinking stock/oval car series , they'd kill it and good chance it catch traction and be a new/retro fun thing to do for practical value , think of all the rc , race and muscle car enthusiasts, that would buy one regardless. Alot most rc and muscle Chevy or car guys that rc aren't low rider kind of people , just a theory .

The Kaiju is pretty durable for the price. And insane on 6s. This truggie should be great for open fields without huge jumps 👍

@@DoRC It depends on how high your jumps are and how you land. And if you like to land on concrete from like 15 feet, that pretty much destroys everything. I try to avoid concrete landings as much as I can. I now do mostly open field runs and smaller jumps. It was too expensive to do huge jumps when things go wrong 😂. I couldn't keep up with the repair costs. Heck, even when I just drive around I break stuff sometimes with roll overs or hitting rocks etc 😂😂😂👍

Me too but I bet it be unnecessary because alot lighter than xrt . That's the case it be counterproductive for my style but worthy of my purchase because I'm hard on diffs . If they take 8s for you guys they last for me on 6s . I love the arrmas but this can be a grab and go like Traxxas except half the price 😆

I think the KV is appropriate for 6s. That's pretty much what all 6s systems using that size motor go with

Right! I almost went with the 4s version. Just because I'm looking at my stock xrt electronics with zero run time on them I gutted as soon as I got it home. But then realized the chassis difference. But maybe my maxx could be a bit spicier with these stock 6s components. Lol so it was almost a win win for the extra $100

Yeah I'm actually curious to see what ESC it's going to come with. The specifications show a quick run 8 BL 150 but the render shows a Max 8.

​@@DoRC Yup definitely the way to go. For the price difference it's well worth it. It's essentially their new shredder with all new parts and built to handle 6s now instead of the shredder that had trouble handling 6s power. I edited my comment above about the shredder comparison

That sounds like it's going to be some pretty serious overkill. Unfortunately because of the length restriction there's not a lot of upgrades that are available without modification. I would consider maybe putting a max 6 in and keeping the stock motor. See how that goes

Yeah not entirely sure how much power these things can handle but I think the Max 6 on 6S would give you a bit of a boost without going too crazy.

Yeah I've just never seen that type of rack on a basher before. I've heard that they can be susceptible to getting debris caught in the mechanism so it'll be interesting to see how it works on this one. Thanks for the pronunciation correction but I'll probably still keep saying it wrong. Might be a hard habit to break:)

There's some tolerance between the slot and the bearings so because of the forces put on the rack by the rest of the steering system the bearings will either be on one side of the slot or the other not both at the same time.

That's probably the most glowing red cat endorsement I've ever seen. I'm not sure I would quite go that far but they do seem to be stepping up their game quite a bit lately. I definitely looking forward to checking this one out!

Nothing wrong with that :-) I've had some bad experiences with some of their older jeeper vehicles but they definitely seem like they've been stepping up their game

@@jiroup7390 Yeah not sure exactly when this will be shipping. Redcat hasn't really said if it's actually out yet or not. I did get one ordered though. The only disappointing thing I've really seen about it so far is that it looks like there's going to be very limited space for motor upgrades.

This is actually a brand new platform. I don't think it shares a single part with the shredder.

There are actually a bunch of different mechanisms in industry that use the similar type of setup. Basically there's a little bit of play between the bearing and the slider and since there's also always going to be a torquing component on that slider it'll only ever be running along one side of the bearing or the other so the bearing still works as a bearing most of the time

Yeah it's pretty cool. Given that they have a 4S version I'm hopeful that the 6s version will be decently powerful. All comes down to the weight

Looks like hobbywing stuff though ik they all use rebranded but these actually are it seems just not common specs I bet they're pretty good , it been cool if offered a roller for 299 , even just a slider so thier profitable for them. Might well go with the 6s having the 7075 chassis, Imagine the 4s is plastic , from pics I thought it was

Redcat made nitro RCs in the past. They probably were not that popular so, they discontinued them.

Think they look pretty stout. Those bottom shock eyes are nice and beefy

Due to personal reasons I'm pretty much limited to bashing in that area. I think there are a lot of people that backyard bash though so it's a good indication of how at least a decent portion of people will experience the vehicle.

I think that depends on where you live. Here in the United States you can get parts within a couple of days from multiple different places

@@DoRC I live in united States when I lived in Iowa no support and when I move to az to Phoenix redcat is here but it's manufacturing only not where u can bring in your rc and have it service I assume and I want to redcat and that's when I was told manufacturing only and diff for the shredder has to be purchased on line and send to your door step hope this help you p.s my redcat still in the closet with a broken front diff I been to hobby stores in Chandler and Mesa and downtown Phoenix none carry parts on hand and they will tell you they don't really support redcat

So this is a brand new platform not an upgraded shredder and I never really said it was going to be direct XRT competition. Something that costs half price is never going to be directly comparable to its 2x price alternative. This is more of a alternative for someone who wants a bigger than 1/8 scale truggy but doesn't want to spend the $1,000 on an XRT. As far as I know this is the only option if you're looking for that particular set of specifications.

There is definitely a bit of hyperbole in the thumbnail but please keep in mind that The thumbnail needs to be eye-catching otherwise no one's going to click on the video and if no one clicks on the video there's no point in making it. Also "half price moderately smaller somewhat lower quality XRT alternative for some people who don't want to spend the money on an XRT but want something bigger than a sledge" doesn't really fit well on a thumbnail nor does it roll off the tongue very well :-)

@@DoRC so basically “Clickbait” as I said. You already have the platform, just make the videos more interesting, energetic, and wing yaself away from clickbait Thumbnails. I only looked it up because of the recall they posted about it. I ONLY wanted to see what made you compare it to an XRT, which I have 2 of and beat on almost everyday. Redcat is moving up, yes, but they still have a ways to go. In fact, I’d respect a Kraton comparison more then XRT. If you think about it, comparing it to an XRT is the same as comparing it to the X Maxx

A lot of the older stuff wasn't great but they've really been stepping up their game lately. The Gen 9 seems really good, their new drifter is sweet and the Kaiju with a few upgrades is actually a really good truck. This is an all new platform and I have high hopes for it.

Nope. I've never had an any issues with Redcat RCs. The MT10e, TR-SC10e and Gen 8 have all held up brilliantly.

I think those are all pretty much top of the range for redcat though. Redcat has made some not great cars. I think it really just depends on which ones you've had.

@@DoRC Their really old RCs were not their own. They were rebranded HSP vehicles which were not durable.

@@SnarkyRC Yeah they've done a lot of rebranding of other RCs including the team redcats and I think the Kaiju wasn't their own design either.
