I was going to comment the same! For many of the other comparisons, I prefer the RS version compared to the other brand; MaimeriBlu is the exception in this group of new colours, where I preferred the MB colour.
Wow, these are some lovely colors! I like the lapis, but Micheal Harding’s is so much better. Unless you can afford the Fra Angelico lapis, Michael Harding is the best option for the price I have found so far. I really wanted to love it because Roman Szmal is so affordable, but alas, I just like it. The other colors more than make up for it though, they are unique options. @@PaintinHiding Yes, they are pricey! I only bought 3 tubes when they were on sale early on. Glad I bought the lapis because it is lovely. Have you seen the video on lapis varieties swatched by StiviWonders?

ah, you're so lucky roman sent the new one to you, my favorite is definitely the strontium violet, perylene vermillion, raspberry red and the tungsten yellow. it's nice that PBr25 finally get some love it deserve. i like the velvet black but i prefer a more cooler red to mix with PG7

Would love to see your pick of 12 roman szmal watercolors you would pick if they was the only ones you could use. Maybe a 12 color palette, a 16ish and/or a 24 color palette as well. Think of someone not needing a starter palette "they already have watercolors" but are looking for unique/awesome colors to buy from roman szmal. I myself am trying to put together a all Roman szmal palette of colors that are not just the normal ult blue, phalo blue, quin red, burnt sienna, yellow ocher....etc. as i have a fairly large collection from mainly Daniel smith, WN pro. So 12 unique roman szmal colors that still give me a versatile palette " at least a warmer an cooler color from the primary's". And since you have tried/own pretty m7ch every color in there line up....who better to ask.

My favorites from your swatches Azo Yellow, Raspberry Red, Lapis, Phthalo Blue Turq, Strontium Violet, and the Benzi Brown. Aquarius Violet with its granulation is the star of the line-up!

I've been checking Jackson's every day, and I noticed that they added the new colors to the US site today! And they are on special! I immediately threw most of them in my cart. (Skipped the mixed blue, graphite, and mixed black). 😄 Thank you for sharing the swatches!

Such a thorough and informative video, thank you for the hard work you put in. So many colors I want, but I checked the Australian Jacksons site and the new colors aren't available there yet...nooooo. 😦 My faves are the Urban grey, Lapiz Lazuli Afghan, Aquarius Violet and Nickel Tungsten yellow!
yeah, i think the new jackson's site is slowly being rolled out for each region, aus just got it first. but hopefully that'll mean you guys will be updated first in the future as well ;D hang in there!
Thanks for the video. But I am confused. Qor just announced that the pigment PR207 is being discontinued. I it just the particular one Qor uses? And also there was once a talk the RS will come out with tubes. Do you know, if this is still a thing. Thank again for all this great info and swatching!!
i'm not sure. maybe Qor gets their PR207 from a different pigment manufacturer because rembrandt revamped their range a few years ago and added PR207. i'm sure if it's a discontinuing pigment, they wouldn't have done that. same with roman szmal. schmincke also still has PR207 i believe. yes, i believe roman is still working on the tubes, i'm waiting for them tto be available myself :D
Great video, perfect visibility and lighting on the swatching so I feel like I really know what they look like. You are definitely lucky to have been sent these goodies! I put a bunch on my wish list but I already have very similar colors to some of them so I'm going to hold off for now. I will almost definitely get the strontium violet since purples are my weakness, raspberry red, perylene vermillion, and aquarius violet. I do really like the browns but I have a bunch of similar PBr7s and the PBr25 from mission gold which looks really really similar, so I don't think those are justified for me :)
thank you so much! i was worried i wouldn't do them justice. i feel you on those choices, sometimes i do that too. if i had to buy any, my first would be urban grey since i feel like maybe it's kinda similar to schmincke random grey and i missed out on that one haha
@@PaintinHiding Urban grey is very interesting but I don't think I would end up using it for the things I usually paint, I don't do much urban sketching :)
I’m gonna CRY! Lapis Lazuli (Afghan), Bi Orange, and Sr Violet are my favorite and I can’t even buy them yet! Roman Szmal has the most interesting colors! I feel like they’re some of the more interesting brands.😩 Also, you’re really coming up if a company is supporting you like that.😌
@@PaintinHiding it’s so weird. I try searching through my browser and I was able to see some of the new colors but not all of them. Maybe I’ll try on my desktop and see if that works.

Hi! Does anyone know if it’s normal for lavender to shrink? I have about 30 colors in a personal collection and it’s the only color shrinking on me. It’s the only one shrinking. Ultramarine is shrinking a bit too. Guessing that’s normal even with honey?
