Finally I have the keys to the top F-Type R. Supercharged 5 L V8 with 575 hp and 700 Nm, and infinite head room in this convertible. Incredibly old school. Can it still capture the hearts of people?

911 is sooo expensive. I am happy to get this one. It looks better, cheaper, bigger engine, sounds better.

I recently bought a new 2023 F-Type coupe as a weekend drive. It is an amazing head turner over my 911. What a sound, nothing like it on the road! I love it 🤡

Buying this particular car in anything other than a coupe should basically be illegal. The lines/shape of the coupe is that good. The convertible ruins it a bit.

I love my '16 R, but I'm really missing the stick-shift and clutch I have in my Trans Am. I took the R to the drag strip in June. 12.1s @118mph. There's just something not right about no burnout (awd), no clutch, no shifting (auto is faster on 1->2 shift), no tire-spin, no nothing other than mashing the gas and then stepping on the brake when you hit the beams. I guess Jaguar made some V6 F-Types in Manual w/ stick and clutch but no such luck on the R (probably cuz you'd roast the tires so easily). I don't know... the exhaust note is unbeatable, but you don't get as much time to enjoy it having an automatic, even w/ paddle shifters. First world problems... :)

I have a similar R convertible. Love the car….but let’s face it…..the tech is wayyyyyy outdated.

Why? The Jaguar wins in looks and is different to anything else on the road. When youi spending this much money you want to stand out and what better way than a supercharged v8 than a car that nowadays sounds like a vacuum cleaner.
