@@jimbo1058 And most Ferraris are red cars with sponsors. And many of the frontline GRT Grasser Lambos were just green cars with sponsors. A livery can be nothing more than solid color choice and sponsor placement and still work well.
The Panoz LMP from ‘99 had an amazing big ol’ V8 thunder. I swear the first time we saw it, could picture the pavement wrinkling up behind from the torque.
@@spongesurf12 got to hear that at the monterey historics a couple years ago, those side pipes made it easily the loudest prototype there, even dwarfing the 4 rotor mazdas.

@@floppa933 I’ve been to Sebring two times. They were my first ”professional” races. And the Rolex 24 will be my 3rd. The reason I said professional is that I sometimes go to the dragstrip where they have local events every week.
@@RubenHernandez-lx1ej That’s sick. There’s a drag strip near me where they have NHRA races I’ve been there a couple of times. I’ve been going to the Long Beach GP since the ALMS days Daytona will be my first IMSA race outside of Long Beach. I wanna go to Sebring also.

Having the exhaust outlets closer together than the GTE and modified GTE car this year makes it sound way nicer. Much nicer note especially up the top.
What. A. Car! NOTHING beats the sound of these big V8's. The best thing about winter is the Rolex 24, and I haven't been there in a few years, it might be time to plan a trip
We rented a condo a few miles away from the track years ago and every once in a while you’d be outside and hear a bunch of motors revving etc. the great thing was you could go to the track, find a parking spot and just watch . It was great . I could tell the difference between the Audi V10’s, Vipers.
I agree it’s great that they rev higher but there’s no backfire on the downshifts anymore and these will be quieter overall due to catalytic converters required in GT3
@@chipattack912 Oh my god cats on race cars smh. We have just a few years left of decent race cars and they choose to intentionally make them worse to have effectively zero impact on the environment.
I’m English so obviously I love an Aston Martin but oh my god the Corvette’s are such a good looking car. If I had the choice it would be a yellow Z06 for me with a loud exhaust just to be an arse.
Not to sound negative, but I miss the sound of the front engine Vettes, you could really pick them up even in a pack. I know that's progress and we should be happy with any sound, because one day all these beautiful sounds will be gone.
We have gotten a few of these Z06's with the flat plane crank and the new sound is wonderful. They are hard to get because there is a great demand for them. We got a black one in and the sticker was $172,615...what did it sell for after receiving bids on it from other customers? $201,000..!! Its a beautiful car though.
Damn, that thing sounds more like a ferrari than the damn ferrari's do. Enzo must be rolling in his grave watching his company start using v6's in all their race cars.
Sounds nice, it seems like the shift sequence is a little off from the rev timing. I'm sure they are dialing it in. It sounds like they have a hefty clutch on that beast.
Yeah it'd be interesting to see all the differences. When they tested last December they had both cars on track and sound wise the GTE was louder and dirtier sounding
That's the most powerful naturally aspirated production V8...ever! And it's not like Chevy just made it and said, "well, good luck if it lasts." No. It's going endurance racing. That's some badass stuff right there!
I just seen the 2024 IMSA entry list for GTD Pro......Earl Bamber and Dani Juncadella will be with the 3 and 4 Corvettes along with Garcia, Milner, Simms, Catsburg. I thought Bamber was a Porsche factory driver and Juncadella AMG.
Juncadella leaving Mercedes and signing with Corvette was just announced the last couple days. Bamber was a long time Porsche factory driver but he drove the Cadillac LMDh in WEC last year. They haven't named the drivers for that car for next year yet, but it is not racing at Daytona like this year.
@@xphxntomx These are the factory supported Pratt Miller team cars. AWA hasn't revealed liveries yet but I wouldn't be surprised to see black and yellow for them
Thank you. Question: is Sebring as accessible for fans as Road Atlanta? At Atlanta fans can pretty much go anywhere and see every part of the track. True here?
Yes it's very similar as far as being able to get to the turns and low fences and open paddock. No hills to go up and down at Sebring, but there's 4 bridges over the track you can walk up and down haha. For testing like this the track is closed so there's a few areas outside the track where you can see in
Could I ask where you were standing for the shot at 2:01? I'm looking for general recommendations on where to spectate for primarily front end shots, would greatly appreciate it, thanks!
The track is closed during testing so all of these shots are from outside the track. That particular spot is outside of turn 13 (tower turn) but during a race week that area wouldn't be accessible to spectators. During races you can get a good front end view inside of turn 4 area looking towards turn 3, especially if you stand along the fence the cars come right at you for a moment
Corvette Racing is done in WEC. TF Sport will run Corvettes in WEC. This car is completely different from the GTE and the GTE that was converted to GTD(gt3) rules for imsa.
