NEW IMSA Mustang GT3 Startup and On Track Testing at Daytona

Haven't been so excited about a new race car in...well, it's been a while. That sound stirs the soul.

I really miss the Ford GT's. One of the beautiful cars out there

If only the corvette had a deeper rumble like the previous generations. This mustang sounds pretty good in my opinion

this is going to be such a great year of racing!

Been a very very long time since a factory Ford backed Mustang went back to endurance, but Mustang by way of Saleen Mustangs has a storied history running in Lemans24hrs back in the late 90's 97 to be exact running the same event as the then new McLaren F1's.

That intake sound is incredible

I am very excited that the Ford Mustang is racing at the Rolex 24 of Daytona. I will be watching and pulling for them. Now, if they would be running in the 24 Hrs of LeMan.

I see they went with a Saleen-Allen-like livery (horse on the side), though less aggressive. I guess tradition since the last mustangs to compete in GT2/GT3 were Saleens.

The Mustang is more of Mans Man machine than the whispering sound of the C8 Vette..

Now thats what a race cars is to sound like. Not any of that EV junk.

The results are now in and Multimatic, as good that that company is at doing what it does, it seems it's no Carrol Shelby. That said, I hope they are able to learn what they need to learn from this race and make these cars podium finishers. I deeply want this to be a success.

First On Race Day

It soods quite good. Not GT3 R good but good.

If the Mustang isn't the fastest it's definitely the best sounding car.

All the other kids with the pumped up kicks sound like little buzzing bees in comparison. Like “zzwwweeeehhhh” vs “BWWUUUUWWW”

Would be fun to see them at the Nürburgring 24 Hours... lol... na, not gonna happen... i hope for Bathurst at least.

I know this may be sacrilege but I prefer the frenetic sound of a Zytec/Judd V8.

The only good sounding ford V8 was the GT40 and that was due to the exhaust and firing order. If you count the Cosworth DFV flat plane crank engine (with Ford financing and participation), it was the best sounding and most successful for decades. Otherwise the only great sounding GT3 engines are the Porsche GT3 and the Vette new flat plane crank C8 Z06 which unfortunately don’t run straight exhaust so you can’t hear it in its glory
