On the touring version of the Tenere 700, I would've liked to have seen cruise control and Bluetooth connectivity for Andriod /Apple iOS navagation maps
Wow, nice work. You are on fire with these EICMA videos! Lot's of great insight into many of the new bikes for 2024. Don't drink too much coffee and I hope you are getting some rest between videos...lol : P
i don't why yamaha won't put cruise control on this bike. it is must have for long distance touring specially if you had a bike with cruise control once you won't go without it.
I sort of think Yamaha put this out as a response to the Honda Transalp. I think they should have gone for a slightly bigger tank on a touring bike, though. 16L is small by today's standards.
Yamaha should have started with the WR model to create the explorer. You cannot explore with a 16 L tank and the aftermarket tanks for the T700 are not well designed because it increases the top heavy nature of the bike. Then there's tubeless wheels missing and only one way quickshift, also no cruise control. Had high hopes for this one but BMW and Honda are better at adventure touring.
You like many others do not get that 20l or more liters means lot of weight? And for what you need this fuel? Where on the Earth you travel 300km without possibility to refuel? Tell me where's that place?
They work out both configurators , the BMW with the ride pro pack and no luggage £14,500 plus luggage is £1048 = £15,548 or the T7 Explore £10,800 plus luggage is £916 = £11,716. So an extra £3,832 for the BMW. Admittedly it has all that electronics BS that can go wrong and leave you stranded that the T7 Explore is missing. As I just got rid of a GS, am looking at this as a bargain buy that is far more capable off road and has good heritage in Dakar
Is Yamaha ever going to sell the Tenere 700 in America? My dealer can't get one, I can't money down on one and I haven't even seen one since the 2020 IMS show.
@@inkjnk My local dealers can't get one and won't take a deposit on one. I've been asking them about the bike for 3 years now. Only one came in and the owner of the dealership bought it for himself. I hear he likes it.
@@jonathanr72 I know, I just figured they'd have it worked out by now. Honestly. the middleweight ADV class in general is lacking cruise control except for Aprilia's Tuareg, but most pass on it because of the 12K mile valve adjustment intervals. Honda really missed the boat with the Transalp too. Oh well, until someone comes up with a middleweight (700-800) ADV with extended valve adjustment intervals (or none at all like on my Pan America) and cruise control I'll just stick with my Pan AM.
@@jonathanr72 Yeah, big fail. I was sure it'd have CC, but nope. All of these companies would crawl over a thousand miles of broken glass before sacrificing a single sale of their huge ADV bikes when people are absolutely begging them for something smaller & lighter with CC.
Becasue not everybody is tall enough to ride stargard t7 comfortably and probably most t7 live on the tramac anyways - lower bike will handle road slightly better.
…and still not even a peep about the new Ninjette that replaces the Ninja 400. What gives?! Day 3 and no one is talking about it. If they didn’t rename it Ninja 500 EVERYONE would be talking about the Ninja 400 refresh.
Yet again no cruise control - why?!! Yeah yeah, I know not everyone wants it, fine, don't use it but there are folks like me that pass on bikes without it A real missed opportunity for the sake of a hundred quid or so
Simple. In order for bike to have cruise control and or TC - it need to have ride by wire throttle. Since Yamaha is trying me make most of what is already developed, they dont change it becasue it would probably rise the cost of bike a lot more.
No tubeless! No, adjustable, low seat included in price, but as extra. Yamaha banking on the good reputation of a solid bike, not wanting to make the effort to cater for everyone interested in this bike. Disapointing as usual.
Just buy a KTM 790 Adv comes with all the toys and 25 additional HP, just picked mine up for £8500 new…..happy days 😀 and I can get my feet on the ground.
Well BOB - here you put, probably, many of us, in a slightly inadequate position : on one hand we like you videos - some of them are pretty good .... On the other - THIS bike is SOOOO outdated, sooooo worn OUT, that only reactions, from seeng it exibited as NEW, should be - 😨😨🥵🥵🤮🤮🤣🤣❗❗I have no idea how some, can STILL consider it .... And we do understand that you, maybe, live from these videos, and you can't throw 💩💩on whoever, whenever... you must be nice, but - this bike is DONE 4 it and not worth mentioning 🤷🏻♂🤷🏻♂STILL - NO TC, NO CC, NO RBY, NOT EVEN SLIPPER CLUTCH ( on the ordinary vers ) !!!
I think you have missed the whole point of the Tenere. It is popular in part because it doesn't have all the extra guff. It is also reliable and very good off road and excellent as a travel bike. However, I agree that the pricing is getting a bit steep and putting it in the same category as the bikes with all the electronic aids.
