Liking the crusade system so far it seems fun, wish there was a requisition for putting overlords on command barges for when they've earned the right to ride the space chariot
Just a note for Matt, be sure to remember the Implant Attack stragagem; it's made to finish off characters taken down to 1 wound. That could have chest-bursted the Phaeron and (if she stayed down) swung the whole game in your favour, all for 1CP.
Love MWG narrative campaigns! Luka seems to have gone down the rabbit hole of the necron collective: cold-hearted, cunningly calculating, and SAVAGE at the end of that game taking out the hive guard.
That was truly and heroic EPIC battle! Thank you for such amount of positive emotions! I very like games like this - such funny, soulful and intriguing!
I'm not gonna lie, I'm an ignorant American who perceived the release dates from all the trailers as October 2nd of this year, not February 10th... BUT BOY am I glad I was wrong! Super excited to watch a new narrative campaign series!!
Must say this has been my favourite batrep from you guys since the release of 9th. Was a close game with a lot of tense moments that could have swung it either way! Not only that but the mission was fantastic and the deployment helped the tyranids have a fighting chance. This narrative crusade has given me reason enough to get a membership if it continues to be just as good as this game!
Just to comment, i know in the middle of a game is hard to think but i think matt could had won the scenario in turn five: He could for 1cp used opportunistic advance on the haruspex, as a kraken splinter roll an advance (3 dice and take the best) and double the number, with enough high roll he could have put the haruspex on the middle starstale within 1 inch, and even if the necrons could've heroic intervene it would've been harder to kill the full haruspex than the hive guard. And then just run with the tyranid prime. The game was 40 to 60 victory points so he had a chance to take it all. High risk, high reward, it all would depended on the advance roll Love the content, nice game
Every time I see Tyranids played, I wanna build a Tyranid army.... this can be said for Necron, Chaos Space Marines, Chaos Daemons, Space Marines, Orks but, never Tau...
Any idea how many episodes are going to be part of this Crusade? I love watching Mat play Tyranids and Luka playing Necrons. So, this is kind of the perfect campaign to going the Vault for.
Female dynasty leaders use Phaerakh instead of Phaeron, so it should be Phaerakh Varia. Unless she wants to use the male version for some reason; she's in charge, so she can do what she wants!
Ah, Dave has felt the touch of fungi. Soon now the spores will take root and out of it will grow subsuming the old "85k point Chaos Army" Dave and turning him into the new Warboss of a 210k Ork army--an endless green tide of miniatures. From there He will go on to host a new weekly RU-vid show called The Shrine of Gork (or possibly Mork). He will still not like Tau of course. WAAAGH!
I love seeing nids played but honestly, having recently got back into the hobby from when I was a kid, Ive switched from nids to guards. Tyranids have great lore and all that, but honestly on the table there are serious balancing issues. I remember collecting them as a kid and my friend collected tau. He used to say that my nids would be destroyed at range, to which I would say that I get way more units than him and if I were to ever get up close, he has no chance. In actual fact, whenever we played we had roughly equal units (sometimes he even had more than me) and when I did get up close I was marginally better at best. Obviously different armies have different abilities but from a high level in terms of specialities, nids are really underpowered.
I have been so excited for this campaign!! There haven't been many Crusade BatReps released, so I am very excited to see how this goes. I will say I would have liked to feature all factions without new Codices, but I get why that would have been difficult. :) At least it would have been nice to see the Necrons have to use the same rules as the other armies just to level the playing field so to speak. :) Matt: you forgot Catalyst on the Hive Tyrant. :( I mean, it may not have helped but it is possible!
It's quite amusing how Luca keeps badmouthing the Acanthrites and they end up doing a lot of the work for securing secondaries. Canopteks don't reanimate well and hit like Guardsmen, but most of them are pretty damn fast, which is something Necrons are comparatively lacking in.
Hey guys love the content and kinda of new vault member. Would you be doing an Age Of Sigmar narrative campaign? Broken realms has some pretty awesome story arch’s but you guys do a fantastic job of creating your own.
I'd love to join as a vault member, but the memberships only show up in USD... am I doing something wrong? I mean, I live in Ontario, shouldn't I be paying a Canadian price? either way, love the concept of this series, looking forward to seeing how it develops!
Why did he choose Kraken as the hive fleet anyway? None of the units in the list really want to advance. Leviathan or Jormungandr would have been amazing
Hang on how did the necroms get double XP for killing the gangs? They weren’t at full strength because they lost some models on the previous turn during the fight phase...
The real MVPs who missed literally every shot they took. 12 shots hitting on 4s and they missed every one. A 0.02% chance of that happening I believe. They never rolled above a 2 actually, iirc, which is a ridiculous 0.00019% chance. That said, I can't deny that they did in fact have clutch melees and do the important work of the mission. Begrudging MVP.
He never does, Haruspex should be at least 3+ WS, more attacks and maybe even his abilities reworked to heal more than 1 wound. Tyranids need stat increases throughout the board anyway. Let’s hope the codex comes out this year...
Yeah they made them like 2 points cheaper. Just taking more termagants is still better mathematically though. Maybe if the gun had ap 1 it would be worth it
