No it’s not available in USA currently. Krix is a local Australian brand but has long been in business since 1970s and we’re the first to develop the “wall of sound” concept in large cinemas and then eventually for the domestic market. Check out some of my room tours and you will see what it’s all about!

Looking forward to part two. And massive shout out to those Theatre seats, first time in a while someone has actually chosen a chair that doesn't block or cut off the back,side and surround channels. So many seem to choose 4ft tall chairs that go up and over their ear hight. I watched the Sydney IMAX set up not long before your video and IMAX have the seats come in just below ear height. It's so important and shocks me that so many don't choose the right level.

High back chairs have never bothered me or obstructed audio. I agree it’s better not to have it there but I still like to be able to have my head back and supported during a movie. These new ones can still have a head rest pop up so best of both worlds!!

My system became little less ambient with echos and reverberation a really old film called Darkness Falls, cheese fest horror but the first 10min was a great demo and when I got the first seats they seemed to just pinch off sense of immersion. I am having a lot of fun with this project. I generally don't do comparison videos. It would be impossible to cover off every model and each review takes me 20-30 hours to make so its just not feasible. What I try to do with my videos is give as thorough an insight into that specific projector so you can make a judgement for yourself. I think the JMGO N1 Ultra is my go-to for this project as I wanted to keep the room to a budget.

Excited for the project, Tony. Do you plan on fitting the power amp inside the entertainment center as well or on top? I'm running into the issue where I don't have a place for a media closet but I'm starting to have more A/V gear than my entertainment center can fit. Are you dead set on a Yamaha power amp? I've been considering an 11 channel power amp and have been bouncing between Monolith, Emotiva and now Tonewinner.

For sure! The unit I have has lots of space inside the cupboards as well but if I can get the amp in there I will for looks more than anything! I would love another Elektra amp like my dedicated room but thinking to keep it to Yamaha. I’ve reviewed Tonewinner and very impressed.

Thanks for all the great videos you have made. I am building my theatre room in the near future and your channel does help a lot! Just wanted to know what makes you to go with JMGO n1 ultra instead of something more dedicated for permanent ceiling mounted like the w4000i yoh just reviewed. Don't get me wrong, JMGO n1 ultra is an excellent projector and it is in my consideration list too. But my thought is it is more of a projector for you to carry around or bring along when out for camping. ps. I haven't decide my projector yet so I'm very interested with your decision
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage 10 месяцев назад
I have a dedicated room with a JVC NP5. This room I had the objective of building an awesome room with as little spending as possible. I got the JMGO N1 Ultra during the Kickstarter campaign and was so impressed with it I decided it will be my projector of choice for this space. The Benq is 5000 Aussie dollars so a little out of my price target as I had to buy a Reciever which is more than that… the n1 ultra is excellent. Definitely not a portable projector for camping.
@leeeejea
@leeeejea 10 месяцев назад
@@BuildMontage Fair enough! Thanks for the reply Tony. If the plan is to have 150 inch screen, would you recommend JMGO for a dedicated room? I prefer projector with either laser or led so I can be worry free for longer. I hope to control the budget for projector under A$3000 so I'm actually eyeing on BenQ x3000i too. My dedicated room will be use more for movie watching, media consumption with minimal gaming. So not sure if paying additional for the gaming capability is worth it. Unless the image quality is far superior compare to JMGO N1 ultra
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage 10 месяцев назад
@leeeejea 150” is quite large. You may need to spend more and look at a Sony 5000es to get the brightness up or possibly the Epson Ls12000b. The JMGO is certainly bright but I don’t know how it would handle 150”.

@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage 9 месяцев назад
It's a fair question. I have lots of Krix speakers so I reckon I can answer. Part 2 is almost ready to starty editing so you will see heaps more on the subject from me. I now have Harmonix to pair with the Vortex and also a beast of an amp top go with it so I biamped the whole LCR! It's a different sound but not less lacking if that's what you would think. The Vortex is a monster. If you can't do an MX, I would highly recommend something like this. I also have the Epicentrix as well, which is slightly bigger but man... what an epic trio of speakers... You wont be disappointed with it that's for sure.

Hi Tony, looking forward to watching part 2. I'm looking at upgrading my current centre speaker to the Krix vortex Mk2 however I have been informed that it will not pair well with my reciever which is a Denon AVC-X4800H. Just wondering what your thouts are on this?
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage 10 месяцев назад
Ive not heard any issues about the Vortex with any specific reciever. I can't imagine what the issue would be. I plan to run mine through the Yamaha a8 and possibly even bi-amp them with a power amplifier as well. Ive heard this center many times and have it's bigger brother in the Epicentrix - both sound incredible.
@straightspine9870
@straightspine9870 10 месяцев назад
Hey Jesse, I'm getting a Vortex any day now to pair up with my Denon X1700H and there's been no mentions at all of any issues. Did the place you're going through give specifics as to the issues they think may occur? The X4800H is an absolute monster, so I can't imagine there's any issues power wise etc. That said, like Tony has called out it could be cool to add a power amplifier down the line and bi-amp them. Either way it shouldn't be an issue with your AVR as far as I'm aware.
@jessezahra5437
@jessezahra5437 10 месяцев назад
It was a place that didn't stock Krix, so they may have been trying yo sway me in a direction of brand they actually sell. They said that the Denon isn't a very bright sounding reciever and Krix also isn't very bright sounding speaker, so they wouldn't match very well on that basis. However, I have since spoken to numerous suppliers who have all said the Krix would work great with the Denon.

@BuildMontage thank you for the reply. I'm also looking at pair of used Krix Lyrix to use as the front speakers. My only concern is running the 4 ohm speakers just through the denon x4800h reciever for now. Do you think there would be an issue just using a reciever to power the speakers or a power amplifier is essential with these speakers ?

@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage 10 месяцев назад
Absolutely! No way am I blocking them. Basically I’m making panels which will friction mount over the window so I will take them down during the day and put them up only if I want to light control the room. It’s that or I get some blinds made which can lower down like I built over the door
@commanderrussels2612

@@BuildMontage Ah okay, that makes more sense. Do you think you'll actually bother to put them up though? I think the blinds are way more practical.. I know the panels are for functional, but, just in practice I don't see myself going into a multipurpose room and putting up sound panels since I have a theater. Like my living room just has compromises and I'm okay with that. You might be surprised how good it'll sound in there without that. I vote nixing the panels and just doing some window coverings! That's one hell of a centre speaker. I'm considering buying either the Krix Harmonix MK2 floor stander's or the Polk Audio R700. Do you know how they compare for movies and music? Of course the sound quality is the greatest priority by far but the R700's look vastly nicer than the Krix. I like the look of the Krix Neuphonix Mk2 speaker system but the Neuphonix seems to be the exception to Krix's rule for not making the look of the speakers much of a priority. Though I realise the very significant price difference in Australia but how does Polk Audio R700 compare with the Neuphonix MK2 tower speakers?
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage 6 месяцев назад
Wow that's the first time I've heard that about the Neuphonix! I love that speaker. There is so much work that goes into it visually, that front baffle is a separately machined piece which takes longer to make than the actual speaker. I have a Krix factory tour coming this week, so look out for it - you will actually see some bits on it. I can't speak for comparison to Polk. I have a preference for Krix and supporting an Aussie company is a no brainer + the Vortex Harmonix combo is WINNING!
@MaZEEZaM
@MaZEEZaM 6 месяцев назад
@@BuildMontage Oh I meant the Neuphonix were the exception for Krix in that i Really love the look of them but i find many speakers to be very ordinary in their boxy shape. I am looking forward to your Harmonix MK2 review. I also have a preference for supporting Australian products and companies. As far as buying tower speakers that cost around $6,700 because i live on low income and those speakers would represent a hell of a lot of savings, i do have a preference for buying Australian but this would be pretty much a once off purchase so i need to make sure I'm getting the very best speaker i can for its value. If i do get the Neuphonix, i would have to save further and buy the Epicentrix and matching rear speakers separately. It's also why i'm interested in the Harmonix MK2 speaker range as they are much more affordable for me.

I also own the Neuphonix and Epicentrix in blackwood finish, and they are amazing - but I love the look of Krix speakers. The MX line up are fantastic... They have wireless rear surrounds . Because I couldn't imagine having to re hook those speakers up when you wanna use them
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage 10 месяцев назад
The issue is I have no where to put them - I will just move the speakers back when I want to watch something... its not really a huge deal. I have nothing to mount them to as there are a long line of linen closet doors behind and my son's bedroom door. Its all about compromise!

@@BuildMontageyou are better off having 5.x instead of 7 with the surrounds forward. Less speakers is better in proper positioning rather than more speakers with out of spec sound coming from the wrong direction. This is from personal experience where positions do matter

I don't want you to take this the wrong way. It's disappointing for someone like a youtuber that other people watch/subscribe and for something is done incorrectly. Really unfortunate and disappointing. The whole purpose of home theater is for it to be done as close as possible to correct. If it means losing speakers to do it right. That's the better option. I don't see your valid excuse of having the Seating so far back when the side surrounds are forward. If it means having a meter shorter viewing distance. You'll want to at least try it out before dismissing it. That looks to be like 3 meters viewing distance or so? You can do it! I know you can. Hope you understand this is for your own benifit rather than you making a mistake that will negatively impact your 5.1 content viewing. Best regards!
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage 10 месяцев назад
I don't really want to engage you but here goes. You are hyperfocused on one thing completely negating the fact that there are physical limitations of my room which prevent me from doing spec. I full well know spec but you have to work with what you have and your mentality is what turns so many people off of this hobby because they feel if they cant be perfect then dont bother. You make so many assumptions which are simply wrong. I cant pull my chairs more forward - your perspective is not correct. I would be so close to the center speaker my feet will be blocking the drivers when reclined. I would also have a compromised viewing angle and position. I am showing people that you can still do a multi channel setup and it not be perfect and not fall prey to to people like you who try to tell people unless it's correct dont do it - NO - you do the best you can and enjoy it. You also made incorrect assumptions about speaker placement in your other comment. 5.1 means side surrounds. 7.1 means side THEN rear surrounds. I cannot just put them behind me and call it a 5.1 setup. You also misunderstand how dispersion works. From the distance to the side speakers, I am still within the "side" of the speaker so after calibration, sounds are still feeling like they come from the side even though the speakers are more in line with the front of my chair. I am not "misinforming" anyone - I quite clearly state that its not ideal, not perfect, but Im working with what I have... If I was telling people this is the correct spec then you would be correct but I clearly say it. You're hyper fixation on side surrounds then misses the whole point of the hobby and the setup - pulling the chairs closer wrecks the whole esthetic of the room, brings the viewing angle to be very bad, makes the room look strange with chairs pulled so close to the screen, and blocks the drivers of the center speaker. You're entitled to your opinion, but you need to understand not everything revolves around speaker placement - in an ideal world you can do that but my whole journey has been to show people you can still get an awesome home theater setup in an imperfect room. Check out my other 9.4.6 setup with a Trinnov and you will see everything is to spec and angles correct due to having a dedicated room. Compromises still needed to be made but they were still within acceptable spec - compromise is good if it means youget to have a home theater. I hope you can take this in the spirit of what it was written - not to be antagonistic but to show you that there are other factors and considerations and that perfect is the enemy of good.
