Its nice to see companys keep prices affordable for the working class , because the working class keep the wheels rolling , so thank you alpine and all those companys that say puck your elite made inflation , thank you alpine
Good in depth video was thinking about getting the new version I have the w650 but this convinced me to keep what I have because the equalizer settings are way superior on the w650. Thank you
Actually the 670 can do the exact same eq settings as 650 if you get into the settings but honestly the presets are close enough and then tweek bass n treble from there. You would like the 670 I got a relay that wires up in the back and I can turn reverse camera on whenever I want lol it sounds amazing. Clarity is alpine all the way
The sound is alpine to the fullest. Very impressed with SQ and i just ordered the kta-450 that should match up in the back and sound awesome if the clarity stays the same but off the head unit the ct sounds 3 way meso and 6x9 meso coaxial sound awesome just off 15watts rms i cant wait to hear the kta 450
@SEABASS05 well to be honest it sounds super good but then I was doing research and the pro audio speakers I have want a lot more watts according to the ct sounds people. So does it sound awesome yes. But they said I should give these speakers a minimum of 100watts per speaker and I am only giving 50-60watts rms and they really came alive vs 15 watts before so I am getting a real amp that puts out 150watts rms per channel but if I couldn't afford to do it with a high end amp I would 100% be satisfied with the sound of the alpine kta-450 but I am also adding 2 10in ct sounds meso subs so without the added watts the subs could drown out the clarity if the highs so I am not taking that chance
@SEABASS05 just to clarify. Yes it sounds awesome and the kta 450 puts out super clean 50watts per speaker. The bass in my mids hit so hard the rear view mirror slightly wiggles and the door mirrors wiggle now but volume is tapped at 18 or 19. Maybe I could get more out of the amp if I ran a totally separate power and ground but then it would defeat the whole purpose of getting this amp. So yes it sounds awesome using factory head unit wiring to power it and so far it has not overheated or anything so yes I gotta say it's bad ass. But in my situation I got high powered speakers so I need higher power to feed them. But if a person had standard mids n highs I am sure this would give plenty of power. So I rate 9 out of 10. Good job alpine. I just need more power bc of the type speakers I chose
Great comparison video. I’ve got two w650s and happy with them. Sad they changed the swc input. I’ve got older vehicles and all the adapters use the 3.5mm plug for this feature. Looks like things got more complicated.
Bruh tell me about it I was trying to figure out my swc on this unit come to find out I have to buy a 3.5 mm male aux cord and wire it to the provided swc harness from the alpine one.
Glad to see the screen color can be changed and custom backgrounds can be uploaded on the 670. Two things missing from the 650 that caused me to not recommend it
its a shame theres an issue with built in steering wheel programming with this head unit. alpine has come out about it and its not fixed.... i can get every button mapped, except for volume buttons... you can only map 1 volume button. if you try to map a combo of up, down, or mute, it resets all saved buttons. you can do one volume and all other buttons though. its a weird bug. hope they fix it. spent like 3 hours troubleshooting it in my car to figure that out. other than that, its awesome. alpine has always been a top tier head unit brand. been using them since the cda9811 back in like 2003
Love the unit but only i have is the auto dimming from night and day is too sensitive, when we go under a bridge or a shaded area it will change to night mode or even a truck went beside us and shaded our car it'll auto dim, kinda annoying but the unit works great
These Alpine units look nothing other than your typical Android head unit. I suppose gone are the days where DAC and high voltage pre-outs were the primary factor for high quality sound (ie. Alpine 7909). Knock em off as cheap as you can :O
Is tha alpine kta 200m enough power if i wanna use this deck to power 4 speakers but no subwoofer? Looking to get speakers maybe around $100 a pair. Would the amp help them sound better or not at the $100 price range?
You mentioned that you can use the AUX input fir a front facing camera, is there a way to use it while moving very slowly like when yiur trying to pull into a parking spot?
Had the same thought but unfortunately according to Crutchfeild you cannot use this aux as input unless the vehicle is in park, rendering it useless for a secondary camera. Dumb to drop it. This downgrade and the smaller screen size make the 407 a better choice for camera use.
Crutchfield is 100% wrong they sell a thing called MICRO BYPASS its only 20bucks and this hooks up behind the deck and allows the front or rear camera to turn on at any time ; ) I know your welcome 😄 🤣
Does anyone know what part I use to get the steering controls to work? I'm in a Nissan Altima 2015 and I had this 670 installed with a (PAC RP4-NI11 Radio PRO Interface for Nissan Vehicles) off amazon but he (guy who installed it for me) says you don't even need it cause the 670 has controls built into it... which is confusing cause once I turned the car on n off the controls he put in were gone or not working correctly. So now I might have to take it apart myself to get that part out (PAC RP4-NI11) and send it back lol.
Ok a couple things. 1. That radio doesn’t have built in steering wheel controls 2. Alpine changed the format on the 670 so when using any PAC adapter you must select “other” instead of “alpine” on the radio select circular selector. 3. I want to say 2013-2018 Altimas you cannot tap into the steering wheel controls with any brand module or adapter. You can call PAC direct to verify. Here is the direct tech line. 1 (727) 592-5991 Hope that helps.
@@BreakersStereo I got it working again I found out I have to do the barking break (on, off, on) then that enables the settings, to go in and put the controls in on the headunit. I'm just really new to all this, lol.
I've tried them all and my favorite car audio headunit has to be the Alpine! The sound quality is amazing and it's so easy to use. Highly recommend giving it a try if you haven't already! 📻🚗 #caraudioheadunit #alpine #kenwood #jvc #pioneer #sony
Nope can't bc the reverse trigger and the hand brake wire are different other than that they are the same or if you don't have reverse camera maybe it will
In the wake of the video above, I have a question... Today (2024) Pioneer's most complete Multimedia Receiver models have advanced features, such as: 13-band graphic equalizer; active crossover; time alignment; 3 pre-amplified RCA audio outputs (4V); 3-way network mode (Low, Mid, High). So I ask: could the use of a Multimedia Receiver like this from Pioneer “in theory” eliminate the need for an audio processor (DSP)? Or in practice will using a DSP always yield superior audio quality?
Great question. So some radios do have all those features you mentioned but most dSp will have double or triple the bands on the eq. Also they have individual each on each channel, needed for true time alignment or stagging. So although some head units have great features nothing beats a true DSP. THANKS FOR THE COMMENT/Question
They make a range of amps that easily just connect to the back of the head unit so you don't need to mount one in the trunk or under the seat, yes. It's still compatible with other styles, though, so whatever you want.
If you never plan on using the Nav, do you need to install the satellite thing that comes with it? Really, I just need an sd card slot for my mp3s, a volume KNOB, and Next BUTTON. :-)
on a 2011 silverado what do i do with the speed sensor wire? also it does not have nav so why did it come with a nav antenna? also do i have to hook up the park brake wire if i never plan to watch video?
Unfortunately they did not. I wishes they would have bc I have found it to be a pain in the ass while driving to turn the volume down at stop lights. You have to locate the little ass buttons and you also can't hold the button to go down in volume you have to tap the button 18x to turn it down ughghhhh. That is bullshit. I would 100% buy a volume knob for this unit if they made one but they only work on the halo wtf? You messed up there alpine. You could have made millions just on the knob to people
mine won't go into video setup for rear camera. I saw yours didn't either, and then your video jumped like you stiched in an edit and suddenly you got in. How did you get in? Did you power your rear camera without being in reverse in order to do it?
Yeah good catch. Ok so in order to get into that menu you have to ground the parking brake wire, remove it from ground and then reground. It it’s installed engage the parking brake, release and re engage. That will unlock safety feature. Ok hope that helps
Just came in today, everything is perfect except for the sound quality… Highly recommend having an amp for your speakers if your going for a high end build, I do have an amp powering my speakers and it’s absolutely amazing… if you just want a high end head unit with Apple car play and android auto… this is extremely solid…
With it being 2024 why do you need a antenna seems old school why can't we just use the phone that has to be connected to the radio? (Can you answer the question)
thanks bro i have another question please i need your help please and so in their website they said that the w650 is anti glare wvga display with capacitive touch screen and when i hit the w670 does not said that i want to know if the w670 is 7 inch anti glare wvga display with capacitive touch screen as well please help@@BreakersStereo
What would you recommend for a single din head unit? I have a jeep xj that would require me to cut threw the a/c vents for double din units, and I would rather not do that. Must have bluetooth. planning on getting a subwoofer in the future.
An alpine single din with bt is probably a good deal, crisp sound and lots of performance. I have one my self and am looking at this double din alpine for my is300
It has Bluetooth so android auto is pretty much pointless i mean you can use your phone keypad that makes it nice to type for info or apps the hey Google rocks. I just wish it could pick up wifi from my phone and then do any apps my phone does. And maybe it can but i havent figured it out yet if it does
My 2016 ram didn't come with a factory backup camera. If i installed an aftermarket camera with this unit, will it automatically turn on the camera when i shift to reverse?
So haven’t done it but you need to have a power wire connect to a reverse power source. Look it up on RU-vid how to hook up a back up cam. I saw where someone took the power wire and hooked it up to the power wire on their reverse lights. That’s makes the camera automatically pop on.
