Throwing this exact setup into my 09 tahoe only thing that worries me is the Bose system that’s included in the truck hopefully I can figure out a way to retain it all.
Pac sells a small harness, like 10 bucks, that solves that. I just installed a pioneer avh4500nex (DVD) in my 07 tahoe LTZ and it does my DVD brake override.
HAVE THE SAME IN MY toyota sequoia,, did you get the alpine relay 15 bucks amazon , one pos. one ground one reverse wire lets you use back up camera without putting your truck on emergency brake, has apple carplay and android auto, wireless.
No constant annoying white noise from your unit? I hate mine because of that. My old single-din Alpine is perfectly quiet when plugged into the same wiring. The ILX W650 sounds like I have some radio static no matter what my source of music.
I have tried a number of brands of radios with built in mics in the head unit. Depending on where the head unit is, the caller on the other side get wind noise from the HVAC system, engine noise, road noise, or the caller can not hear you at all. Sometimes, you have to yell. So I have to use an external mic all the time. Normally I put the mic near the edge of the dash cluster trim panel or on the steering column. If you get too much external noise in those area, I have to move it to the headliner on one of the two sides of the driver's sun visor. Then again, placement of the mic is different between cars.
I still buy CDs. I refuse to go down the digital hole where I'm paying my hard earned money for nothing. Alpine is one of the best you can buy. I've also used Kenwood and pioneer over the years and I loved the Kenwood DVD receiver I had in my suburban. Had android auto and it was awesome for maps and texting. Having the Bluetooth mic is so worth it. I mounted mine down next to the console. Never had an issue. My 80 Z28 has a sony mobile ES flip down face CD player from 98 in it and two sony 6x9s in the back And it sounds like there is a sub in the back. They don't make car audio like they used to.
Five hundred dollars? Your checkbook is outrunning your truck by 10:1 here lately pump the brakes !!! I do love your videos don’t get me wrong just seeing a ton of outgo and the miles can’t keep up!!
Just had one installed 2 days ago and the sound is terrible!! My factory unit that was replaced by this one was much clearer sounding! I don't know what the deal is with it, but maybe I got a defective one. Going to return it and stick with QUALITY for the next unit. It's sad that my first car, a 1986 Mercury Topaz, had a better, clearer sounding cassette player.
