I'm a simple man. i see Imperial Guard that has plenty of infantry and not 3/4 tanks and vehicles and i click like.

Woohoo...as an Emporers Children player myself...I'm very happy to see a Pure Noise Marine battalion...I have 2 battalions worth... I'm very interested in seeing how the Super Size 20 'Combat Drug Enhanced' Noise Marine Squad performs... as I was temped to make this excessive unit myself.. ALSO my top tip for Noise marine squads is All champions need to have combi-plasma (Super charge that baby when in character buffs or if killed) Doom siren (use when advancing unit or adding extra fire power with the rapid giring plasma gun within 9" of enemy..plus it provides excellent overwatch) and power mauls or axes as 4 attacks is nothing to sniff at... AND I love Deamons...but Mutilators (35 each or 105 for a squad) are tougher (3 wounds, 2+/5+ save) using Emporers Children buffs (strike first) and stratagem like replacing a single charge roll to a score of a 6 (making it unlucky to fail a 2nd turn deep Strike change)...add Excess Violence stratagem to make an extra attack for each enemy model killed...makes these guys brutal...I have two units...

really nice report. I particular enjoy the shorter new format really great. Only one thing the Shot First Shot Hard stratagem for me reads can only be put on "one" sentinel unit. Hence this does not affect all sentinels !

Music of the Apocalypse is crazy, it should trigger on something like a 3+ or 4+. The fact that they automatically shoot is madness… unless they are fighting ultramarines backed up by Guilliman, then it's fair game.

when luka said he was shooting 5 lascannons hitting on 4s at a demon prince expecting that to kill it, no this is guard shooting my man i don't expect my lascannons to do anything without buffs cause half the time they just don't do anything. in hindsight since you had command points left you should have popped one on the heavy weapons team so it would have a better chance of wounding the prince. granted, still may not have done anything cause invulns and d6 damage, but you really needed that prince dead so he wouldn't continue to threaten your russ so i think it would have been worth it.

Strike First Strike Hard doesn't work on all seperate sentinel units, it's choose the unit of Sentinels. Pay 1CP, until end of that phase that unit adds +2 to hit. So if you want to capitalize on a unit of sentinels, it should be a unit of 3 together.

I'm so glad you've decided to house rule that 1d3 victory points are always 2. A basic rule of good game design is to give the player some random inputs (e.g. drawing random objectives at the start of your turn), but NEVER make outputs random (points gained). It's totally unfair and unsatisyfing to bend over backwards to get a 1d3 point objective, only to roll a 1.

Plus for emperor's children 👍🏾

For someone who has essentially a podcast about warhammer lore, Luka knows absolutely nothing about the assassinorum lol. Culexus assassins are pariahs (people with no warp signature) that maximize their null presence and effects with a specialized helmet. Callidus assassins are masters of subterfuge, masters of camouflaging and mimicry they disguise as high ranking members of the opposing force and cause miscommunication/disorder from within. Eversor assassins are insane killing machines that are deployed when exterminatus is not a viable option, and are capable of murdering an entire Hive city if heresy/corruption is suspected. Finally the vindicare assassins are masters of the singular assassination. They are deployed when one person/target NEEDS to be killed, and will sit in hiding at a vantage point for days-weeks-months at a time waiting for the opportune time to land a single shot, and it is confirmed that they absolutely never miss when firing their Exodus rifles. The officio assassinorum is super cool, and deserves the lore plug!!!

Oh man, those bullgryns are AWESOME. Luka would need to study maths to use the N astra militarum books when N tends to infinity (the number of rules and stratagems diverge for sure). Perhaps a narritive list. Gaunts ghosts, infantry regiment lead by commissioner, lot's of commands and vox for orders. Lots of choices for back up ( depending on the book 1-11) from artillery batteries, tank units etc. We home brew the narritive of the 1st n only from tanith, as having a +1 cover bonus as long as you have modelled the infamous camo cloaks of course. And heavy las cannon can't be taken, instead replaced with the sniper squad ( ie Larkin n his ilk) 2 troopers with sniper rifle is fun to model . Lot's of tread fether's to take out tanks n walkers of course (missile launchers) . Lot's n lot's of modeling opotunitities , Corp Bragg n his hvy bolter replacing a hvy unit. A scout unit very hard to detect for McKoll Eszrath n his crossbow (vinicare assasin) Corbec n his close assault combat units with hellguns n straight silver (scions i guessing), Rawne n his bunch of nasty sculkers with demo (melta) charges n infiltrating (chainswords) Lot's n lot's of other commanders n sargents with troopers with that extra cover save n walking into the map, although there is enough valkierie insertion for air force inclusions. Of course Gaunt with powersword and incredible ws n b.s., Milo with best vox effects, appoctathery dolgin, n so many many more. Navy spotters, psyches, for command squads. famous artillery unit's, tank battalions, hvy blueblood infantry (badicly akin to ogrin shield walls) and even an inqisitorial or astarties unit can be used and stays in fluff. Just think it makes a great army to model n play. With all what's his names free conversation n modeling time of course. As an aside, I have boxes n spues awaiting for the soul drinkers army for my next project , been waiting for 3 editions so far lolz.

Unless the printed stratagem is different from the PA rules preview, the Strike First, Strike Hard stratagem only affects one unit of sentinels. So only one of the sentinels would get the bonus to hit. At least it only gave you an extra wound on a rhino this game lol.

unfortunately strike first strike hard only applies to 1 unit not all sentinels in your army. also, i think what really killed luka here was actually him putting his guardsmen squad out in view of the noise marines, allowing them to kill the entire squad with music of the apocalypse and making it so you couldn't use the guardsmen unit to protect the tank commander.

I play both these armies and love the both. Basically run the same chaos list AND own the Creature Caster keeper (even though I never bring the demon detachement that they run here.) And my third army is White Scars and that was played last week. It's like MWG has been to my house!

Your Sentinels didn't appear to be in coherency for a single unit so wouldn't the "Strike First, Strike Hard" only affect one Sentinel as they either weren't a single unit or weren't in coherency?
