I always felt like the superblast was overpriced as well. Very regular feel to me nothing special. I returned mine. Also didn't like the neo vista, way to soft. So to each their own. If this preforms better than the 1080 with a peba blend and the superblast can fetch $200, i don't see why this cant? I'm in line to try them since i love the 1080v13.
When you can get last years models of excellent trainers for $100 or less on sale (Glycerin 20, Boston 12 to name a couple) I don’t see why on earth i go spend $200 on this. I’m sorry but the value is just not there. $160 max for a product like this in my opinion.
Brands actually think exactly like you as their shoe release model is the following one : - new entry at maximum price for the fashionistas who desire the latest design whatever its price - previous entry at normal price for the "reasonable" customers --> it's a two-three year cycle! This way the ROI on the new shoe development costs is covered quickly while its price is high, and by the time the shoe gets "affordable", its production costs is at its lowest point so rentability is still optimized.
Been eager for this shoe since it was introduced at TRE. The Prima to me feels like an upgraded Clifton 9. I do wish it had a lower drop like the Clifton, but I really enjoy that shoe.
Agree with other comments on here. $200 price point is to much for this shoe with their own line having several shoes with Plates in them for the same, if not less that this shoe. If they want you to pay a premium for this shoe going forward than they need to drop the price of the 1080 which in turn would drop the price of this model. I don’t see the price premium justification here.
Great review, regarding the size. I am TTS in the SC Elite V3 but half a size down in the SC Trainer V2 //Rebel V4 & SC Elite V4. When you say race fit.. Like in the SC Elite V3?
Not quite race fit but clearly more precise than say 1080 v13 with its stretch. For training which the shoe is for I would go TTS. I worry at half size down to short.
Thankful they kindly add some 10 or 20% PEBA blend and only charge 200 $ for it. Why are they so generous, don’t they know running has become a premium sport?
Eh, everything’s relative. I ran XC and track in school so 3:30 marathon does sound slow to me. But I know a lot of people who started running when they were older, heavier, etc where 3:30 would be considered pretty fast and impressive.
