Zoodiac was the main reason Zeus got limited

The entire Sanctifire play is only strong with the Gimmick Puppet Nightmare. Every other version is a lot weaker since you get counterplay against the other alternatives. Gimmick Puppet Nightmare is just a one-sided floodgate that locks out the most important mechanic in the game for an entire turn for your opponent. Nothing else matches Gimmick Puppet Nightmare in the slightest in terms of unfairness.

Any hit to a floodgate card is very welcomed. I been puppet locked a few times but not in a few weeks or so.

Konami employee be like : "Oh no i got locked into gimmick puppet, let's ban this" lol

Ido was used for a while in my Dark World/Danger! deck, since Lucient dark world when summoned, can special summon a fiend to your opponents field, you slap em with an Ido

I barely play the game and last time i turned it on i immediately matched against a branded player who puppet locked me

sanctifire was a mistake at least make this stupid card targetable or the monster summoned to opponent negated

Branded is so overloaded that I was getting puppet locked even if I ash'ed branded fusion

no snake eye hits 😢 I’m glad they hit the puppet and I don’t mind them not hitting Yubel. SEFK is definitely still better no matter what the tier list says. Yubel having a higher rating is just because it’s new and not because it’s actually better people are just tired of snake eye I hope they hit snake eye in the future and not fire king as fire king is a fair deck but snake eye is cancer. every card being a starter and an extender is just too much it should be either or at least for some cards

Ido was used in a bizarre danger dark world combo with 6 negates & your opponent can’t summon

Yesterday some one puppet locked me but i did not care because i played floo.

Guess it’s time for Branded to jump to the next nearest floodgate. I think Archlord Krystia and D/D/D Vice King Requiem are gonna go up in usage.

Zeus was limited because you could put a zeus on a zeus and get another board clear

You can make Sanctifire with Jowgen. The problem is you can't give Jowgen to the opponent because it can wipe your board if you give it to the opponent. Ido also got used a lot less than Puppet because one Dark Hole or even just crashing into the opponent's monsters and it's summoning back to their side and wiping their board in the process. Ra's Disciple is the closest thing to being usable out of the remaining options but doesn't stop Normal summons so you can just tribute something or use Droplet/Dark Hole and then they're back to business as usual. Subversion also does a good job of getting those "while on the field" floodgates off funny enough.

I think Sanctifire should join the ranks of Halqifibrax as degeneracy enabling card. I cannot see locking your opponent out of special summoning as worse than generating some field and card advantage. So unless they want to keep banning next floodgate that Sancti enables, they should deal with the enabler itself. (Though if Konami is going to ban all floodgates this card enables, I am all for it)

i mean, it's either ban sanctfire, or ban these two idiots that is a nuisance in a BO1 format. Also, I like to add: Puppet Nightmare was designed to be neutered so hard to not break Rank 8s in the 2013 anime pack, even tho Rank 8s don't really do anything back then. let that be a lesson to card designers in corporate, don't make stuff that says "you cannot summon anything other than x on the turn this is summoned"

Puppet was a problem card but it should have BEEN banned. Now it’s the main focus for this banlist when you literally have a much bigger problem still ruining the game.

Homestly every deck I play lately has all the bystials possible in for yubel reasons so I usually get to avoid the puppet lock. But yeah, I get why people don't like it

Playing Infernity as i watch this lol, this is good news. Also As a Gimmick Puppet enjoyer and new Quattro fan after stanning Mizar for a millennia, i was only playing Nightmare at one - but this is most unfortunate indeed to get my decks cards banned due to another more popular deck.

I’m only been target Ido few, I play jogwen and archlord kristya for branded.

Yubel is going to fall off the play rate before anything gets hit. Its not even a top 3 strongest deck in MD right now it just has the anime deck buff for play rate while being new. So I don't expect anything in the deck to really see hits until at least around when Fiendsmith is dropping.

I got puppet locked a lot, every branded deck I faced are either tryied that combo or simply done ice mirror pass. I play that deck myself but I hate this card so much I don't even crafted it.

The best part of Ido was blowing it up and watching it end the Branded players duel

The banlist disappoints me they need to hit fire king that deck is driving me insane.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't ban them sooner, once sanctifire got released we all knew it was going to happen

I have the puppet in my deck but it's so unsatisfying. Gang (dragon spellcaster dude) has so much better targets that provides better resources and grind game. I only use puppet to fight back at degeneracy coming my way first. I'm all for the banning of locks and floodgates including my own.

Lowkey so glad ido got banned. I remember someone gave me ido and had one of their link monsters point to it preventing it from attacking meaning i couldn't even crash it to continue my plays. Sat through their entire turn which took ages just to not be allowed to even ATTEMPT any plays on my turn. At that point if i see I'm not going to be allowed to play, idc anymore. I just leave the game and surrender early now.

Still find it gross how branded, a deck that's at least three years old now and a fan favorite, keeps getting hits while snake-eyes remains unaffected and still broken, but nah, Konami wouldn't dare touch a deck that makes money simply by being too broken.

I still think they aren't really hitting Snake Eyes until after Worlds because of how the format works. You gotta split cards and its hard to play almost any of the decks in the past year if they hit the snake eye/Diabellestar package anymore.

I was hoping for this kind of banlist where it wasn't too heavy handed on hits/limits but focused more on unlimits. Wish it had more cards though like sprights, enchantress, nimble beaver, destiny fusion. e-tele, trickstar lightstage...so many cards can definitely come back please konami dont forget them!!

Im definitely one of the Branded players you all hate lol but being the devils advocate, getting to puppet lock means i was able to do my full combo uninterrupted turn 1. Its likely that you would lose the duel, like with many other decks, if they go uninterrupted. Puppet just seals the deal. That being said, Sanctifire and expulsion should be erratad so that they only work on your Branded/Bystial/Despia cards and your opponents GY

how is no-one talking about the LIMITED Heavy Storm and the unlimited/limited snatch steal? im happy to see gimmic puppet get banned but heavy storm could be really big especially if your playing Labrynth and the opposing player hits you with Heavy Storm 😧 we going back to set 2 pass?

Zoodiacs were the reason zeus shouldn't be unlimited. As long as they are kept in check, zeus can hang.

Two Zeus is definitely something that matters vs one Zeus, but Three Zeus does absolutely nothing.

I got gimmick locked twice in MD in the past two weeks. And somehow, my opponent opened with grass on their first turn. The puppet and strategy can very much go to hell.

TLDR: No SEFK hits and Branded couldn't care less about the puppet lock. A decent Branded player out grinds you and breaks your board regardless and other splash-able locks exist.😅 Nothing else mentioned matters not even SHS stuff.

I’m a brander player but I don’t play puppet and I’m glad it’s gone. I thought it was bad for the game and also made branded players way too reliant on it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people who should have won games if they would have just stuck to a good board but lost because they tunneled in on puppet locking. Selfishly happy it’s gone instead of sanctifier!

Yes, I been puppet locked multiple times AND ras disciple.... they need to stop making cards that can lock the opponent for the entire turn....

I just want super poly banned. I faced Yubel today, and it fusioned my entire board away today for Yubel, the loving defender forever

I think they should errata puppet nightmare so it only locks the main owner of the card In this way it doesn't need to be banned from other gimmick puppet players and any other deck like branded can't abuse it

Albion is the one that must be banned. It's pointless to ban puppet or idol 'cause Branded players has a tons of replacement for them. Crimson + Calamity turn lock is draw 3 at least under Maxx C. But Albion is a 1-card Branded f*cking Fusion into turn lock! Da' hell Konami???

I've been puppet locked a couple times, but that was also when branded was a T1 deck, and was crawling all over the ladder. I almost never see branded anymore.

Honestly I'm glad that we are done with gimmick puppet, I'd prefer a sanctifire hit of course but puppet being more unresponsive than anything else was frustrating. Against jowgen and ra's disciple at least their effects are off if they leave the field and they both allow you to at least normal summon unlike ido
