That’s some beautiful packing. The spot uv on the guarantee is a real nice touch. I’ve worked in the high end audio business for almost 30 years on the design side and seeing little details like I use in your work is just awesome. Fabulous product with incredible attention to detail.

I have learned more watching you on this journey than anything else on this platform. I’m jealous of the instrumentation you have access to. You’re very talented in this venture with all of it, and you’ve made it look easy, however I know it definitely isn’t. I truly hope you plan on teaching this to the next generation one day maybe. Eventually I will own one of these clocks. It will convincing the wifey that will be my biggest obstacle. Great work. Thank you for sharing all of it here.

3:51 a good way to enlarge fine holes would be to get yourself a "model maker's shim punch set" (or make your own if size ain't correct). Simple, effective, and with the support given by the two plates sandwiching the part, there's no deformation.

Totally excellent! For the under sized holes try a tapered diamond burr. These have very fine grit so they can take out small amounts of metal without galling. They are available low cost on ebay.

It's a beautiful product and very nice packaging indeed. I only missed a brief shot of testing the clock after the tubes had been put into their base before they disappeared in the nice split cover box ;-P

what was the solution to the glowing wire? last I saw you tried ceramic but we're getting glowing spots I think?

What if you coat the bottom of the letters with a ceramic-based coating or something similar to prevent them making contact if they bend?

So if that's how you package 1 nixie tube, what if a customer orders 4? That's a whole lot of material for one tube.

The digits have only a contour? Why don't they have a intriguing grid pattern instead, you could then go back to thinner sheets

...nice to see you're experimenting with metal thickness to increase rigidity. I proposed this solution when you mentioned this problem a year ago and now you're actually doing it. :D Also, that butane torch for welding glass. Can it be replaced by some sort of resistant metal wire "ring" heater as ones used in electric kilns? This way glass would be made uniformly welded around the whole rim and could eliminate human "error" in the process...:/

Hi. Barely 2mins in to the video, and my first thought is would it be possible to form the numbers in the similar way that LED digits are made? i.e.7 segments? Or would that require more, or too elaborate switching? I assume that when activating a given number with a Nixie tube, only one circuit is energised, whereas with say an LED number 7, three segments would have to be energised. I also realise that Nixie tube numbers are VERY different in appearance, and of course this may not be acceptable to you. Regards Mark in the UK

Why don't you use the laser marking machine for increasing the hole size? Multiple passes cut the material perfectly. You will need to use the air blow cooling on the part, but precision is 0.005mm
