NEW BATMAN GAME, XBOX SALES IN TROUBLE? & MORE 

We need an Arkham level Batman Beyond trilogy.

Has no one else put two and two together, that console sales are lower and lower as prices get higher and higher? This is the only console generation I can remember where hardware prices have increased after a couple of years instead of dropping by like, half….

Console sales are down because inflation is OUT OF CONTROL. People can spare a pocket full of change every month for gamepass or $100 a year in game purchases... very few have $500 to drop all at once on a console.

Roll7 shutting down is really depressing. I loved Rollerdrome and I wished we could have seen something else from them

XDefiant is actually huge for a big portion of the CoD community. Specifically people who were fans of the “golden era” i.e BO/MW2/BO2. Development is being lead by one of the old executive producers of CoD Mark Rubin and the sales pitch is literally “What CoD used to be”. If they can deliver on this promise and keep content up (and so far they have) it will have a strong dedicated community of old CoD fans like myself. Also it does not release until May 21st.

Todd wanting to make more fallout games more quickly IS nice and all, but the creation engine has been dated since like 2013. They have to change It and that means a LOT lerning how to do the new engine.

PSN account isn't available in 110 countries. People who paid for the game and played it without amount for months are now unable to play the game. PlayStation sales were down too last quarter. It's not just Xbox.

My hot take: I don't want another Batman game (yet). We've had so many with the Arkham trilogy plus Origin, as well as the Telltale game. I'd rather get a Superman game, or that Wonder Woman game that was teased a few years back. Or how about a Green Lantern game? I love Batman but it's starting to feel like oversaturation.

to be fair, microsoft really doesn't care that much about xbox sales considering all these massive buyouts such as bethesda, activision/blizzard and obsidian were meant to gear up for the inevitable shift to the digital era which is what their real concerns are. the upcoming digital era is microsofts long term concern, not the console wars

no one else thinks hardware sales are down because we are swinging back from covid where you couldnt even find a switch or console? everyone worked for three years to buy a console and now they dont need one.

Roll7 and intercept games are shutting down? two studios that has been producing innovative game's rather than generic games that we usually get. Damn what a shame..

But it's been like 4 years since the latest version of Xbox, so with market saturation, isn't it normal that sales should be down? Are other older consoles still increasing sales year over year???

Isn't it natural for sales to decrease year after year through a consoles generational lifespan? I bought the Series X the day it came out, and it's been the only one I've bought. I'm definitely not going to purchase one every year.

Ignoring the fact I don't have any VR gear, I will say with my being deaf in one ear and arthritis controlling how much head movement I have(15 to 20 degrees each direction), I don't have any urge to try VR gaming.

The Bethesda comments on wanting more output just sounds like Microsoft told them "you're going to pick a few studios to start working on your stuff, this 1 game per decade isn't going to work for us"

Releated to the VR Batman game, Meta is licensing the quest VR software to 3rd party manufacturers. So more variety in standalone VR headsets. Supposedly also more Xbox integration with the Meta VR ecosystem.

Cost of living is insane right now that’s the reason why sales are down. As for Bethesda, Releasing new dlc for fallout 4 in the meantime would be good i think, I hope they do but I doubt it.

My question is why are they not surprised by the lessening of console sells overall? Once everybody gets what they want, granted the units are built to last, it only makes sense that sales would drop because nobody needs multiple of the same unit?

I think the worst part of the Helldivers thing is that Sony is not to be trusted security wise. They have been hacked an uncomfortable amount of times for my liking.

When it comes to XBOX.. I think they know what they're doing. Every time a new console gets released, it seems like there aren't enough titles to show the power and capabilities of said console. I think XBOX is trying to make more and better games while also staying in that hardware area so that there will be no shortage of games for the future of hardware testing and potentially for any company that makes a new console.

As much as I rather PlayStation over Xbox I don’t want them outta the console race. If they do better than PlayStation had to do better. Them competing equals out to better games for us.

Bethesda could always give the reins to Obsidian in developing a new Fallout Game, especially considering both studios are now under the same Microsoft umbrella. Starfield update is curious, primarily with the performance mode update. Todd used the "It was design decision" excuse as to why Starfield was originally capped at 30fps, but evidently, that notion has evaporated into the ether. Speculation is that Starfield is more than likely being ported to the PS5/PS5 Pro. When you connect the dots, it all makes sense: 1. Microsoft's shift in strategy in their game distribution. 2. Satya Nadella's statement of 7 of the top selling games on PlayStation were from Microsoft 3. Fallout 4 selling 8 million on PS4 alone, thus a game like Starfield is likely to do well. 4. A PS5 port already exists as revealed by the leaked documents (ABK acquisition), so porting it wouldn't be very expensive.

New arkham game is a dumb vr game.

If the new Arkham is actually a fully fledged game like the RE4 VR remake, Half-Life: Alyx, or Asgard's Wrath then I'm incredibly hyped. There aren't enough meaty, traditional singleplayer games for VR. Everything is still a walking simulator or short tech demo or an indie jankfest with great ideas but no polish and production value. It better be AT LEAST 10 hours long. Rocksteady needs to get their shit together and make that Batman: Beyond game we're all asking for. Why it's so hard for companies to just give us what we want I will never understand. Nobody asked for Suicide Squad, so why make it? Listen to your customers.

I remember buying a new console and pairing it with a next gen exclusive. This generation hasn’t really had any new exclusives. I still play with a lot of friends who have OneX’s. And they’re still happy with their hardware. Why upgrade?

the problem with the Helldivers 2 thing is that, a lot of countries don't support PSN. which means players who are in those countries who literally can not make a PSN account are going to be blocked from playing the game. if this goes through i hope those players can get a refund cause this is literally a bunch of BS.

Bruh I have no interest in playing any elder scrolls games or fallout games till they move past the creation engine, 12 years ago it was solid but now its embarrassing because half the reason they have gotten away with using it so long is the modding community is always there to pick up the slack but even they are fed up because they spend countless hours developing mods just for the dev team to add a 12mb update that does nothing. Starfield is a beautiful example of “oh its just fallout in space” and most people saying it don’t mean it as a complement. This company has unlimited praise because they gave us Skyrim but years later it feels like that guy that played football in college before an injury but he constantly brings up his football days because there’s nothing else for him to bring to the table

My question with Bethesda is what is the staff doing? You can’t expect me to believe that divisions are working 100% of the time on a game. There’s way too big of a gap in game releases for that dev. Microsoft needs to do a top down review to find out what is going wrong.

Anyone else not a fan of VR? I get the immersion aspect that some love but for me it’s too much. I know video games aren’t necessarily the healthiest activity but something about having a screen for that long that close to my eyes that puts me off. But hey I’m glad those who are fans of it are getting new games, I just really want another great Arkham game not on VR and definitely not live service.

I jumped into Helldivers (PS5) this Thursday…not really feeling it but not dropping it yet. Also, I’m mainly joking but there should be more Vessi sponsorship segments because of how much rain we’ve been getting (TX resident).

My gamerscore is 80,840.... had an Atari, NES, SNES, PS, PS2, then a 360 (not by choice), now an Xbox one Halo edition. I want to go back to PS, but have invested 13 yrs into Xbox. I want games released to all consoles. I want to play Mario Bros. 2 on my Xbox, Kratos (God of War) on my Xbox, Spider-Man, Horizon Dawn on my Xbox. Kind of tired of buying newer hardware, but it's either a PS5 or an Xbox One cube looking thingy.

You should add all Ubisoft and EA news to one labeled chapter so all the non-casual games can just skip it

Phill Spencer has made clear for years that Xbox doesn’t want to focus solely on console sales. It has been trying to diversify into services like GamePass, and put that first and foremost. We are just now seeing the effects of that plan more vividly.

Helldivers made a big mistake

I can’t do VR I want a true sequal to Arkham knight. Rocksteady needs to use the PS5 engine to it’s fullest or they can give us a Batman beyond game since that series is becoming popular again.

Just to preference I was a huge fable fan and told myself back when Xbox and PlayStation released the last generation that I wouldn't buy an Xbox one or PlayStation 5 until fable 4 release as it would be the determining factor on how I was going to decide what console I would choose. Well here I am today just in regret over all the good PlayStation games and debating witch of these videos I should actually watch because I don't want to spoil certain games... Can you believe I've never played the new Spider-Man games 😭 PlayStation has put out banger after banger and I've missed all of this. Even the new halo dropped and still I didn't budge for I was just determined (and well had a switch so that pacified my time) but what now??? PlayStation 5 time wait till GTA 6 comes out for that PS5 pro is my thoughts. I just had to share this story as I remember thinking fable 4 would launch and some how would catch the same manic it did back when it first came out

For the Helldivers 2 pc players needing a PSN account I love it enough to actually make an account If only I can make an account in my country TLDR alot of helldivers 2 players will not be able to play the game by next month due to the shitty mandatory PSN account as there is no way for us to register as alot of country aint supproted

From should reimagine the Dark Souls games in Elden Ring's style. Turn all 3 into one massive interconnected map with zones like ER. That way it saves some time on the lore and design front (since they can reuse some bosses and already have the world built). But they can also add more stuff, expand the world a bit, redesign it a little since it will have a dedicated jump button, pull off some of their classic trolls where players expect, say, a trap from one direction but get hit from another, etc., etc. I'm sure Dark Souls fans would love it (I know I would), plus that would let all the new people who jumped in for ER go back and experience a version of games they might not have played.

There was a demo for XDefient for the weekend (the other, week), my brother loves call of duty, and he said this was a cooler version of cod. And it is actually pretty fun. I thought Rivals was fun too, but no one really seems to play that!! A Elden Ring Sequal would be cool! Running around Elden Ring is so much fun for the world! It'd be nice for another one!

The vr Arkham game is probably better than Suicide Squad.

From an Elden Ring sequel i want a couple towns with npcs living as normal a life as they can in the decrepit, decaying world, not just one small hub area. Just to shake things up a bit on the formula (which i love, dont get me wrong).

I was an Xbox guy...then they started communication banning people when you reply to someone who says something dispcable to you then reports you. Also my 360 lasted 8+ years and my Xbox One shat the bed after 2.5 years. Actually a blessing as it spurred my switch to PC.

Thanks Jake! Thankfully, still Completely lost in New Vegas! Taking a quick break to replay Titanfall 2 this weekend. Plus, just picked up all the other Fallout games when the sale dropped with the show. Not to mention so many games I own that I have never played like Prey, Shadow of Mordor and AC: Black Flag... all "saving" me from dropping $80 - 100 to play a new game that is likely a buggy mess.

As for the Helldivers thing. Im not staying. No matter how much i love the game im not staying.

Best case is they outsource a new Fall out to Obsidian since they have done it before and pretty good at that, so they can focus on es6 instead and hopefully realize why Skyrim worked.

I regret not pre-ordering SoT on PS5. My wife and I put quite a few hours into it on Xbox. Now I missed out on all the pre-order goodies, so no point buying it until it goes on sale.

As an xbox fan, I'm tired of seeing their showcases of nothing but indie games and games that will never come out and their BIG reveal being a single game we have to wait till holiday season to see only for it to be released half baked or an underwhelming release. They need game testers and need to streamline some of these games. We get it, big games might have a couple flaws, I'm not asking for a broken game, but telling people to wait 5-8 years for a basicB game and still want full support of their customer isn't reasonable anymore. Convincing people to play gamepass is getting harder and Steam seems like the more appealing route.

Another gimmick VR game instead of a real Batman Arkham sequel. Literally just do another one set after Origins with Roger Craig Smith. But no, we get a lame VR game and a live-service Suicide Squad game(which I actually liked, but it still wasn't what I wanted).

I really enjoy my Series X, I prefer the controller, the UI, and just how quiet it is. I really stopped gaming on my PC because it’s so dang loud. I have a PS5 and haven’t touched it since I beat Spider-Man 2 back in November. I’d really like to see Xbox do better in the space, having worked in the gaming industry I really enjoyed working with their team over the other companies, and honestly they are sooo much more “gamer bros” than the competitors.

All the people who have been fired or who were forced to leave in the past few years should just go ahead and start their own company/companies. I'm serious. That would not only stick it to the companies who fired them or made them leave, BUT it would also let them be their own bosses more or less, it would let them be as creative as they possibly can, nobody would be rushing them with deadlines and stuff, there would be no corporate suits and/or investors breathing down their necks and the list of advantages goes on. And while I know it's easier said than done, still, most of the people who were fired already know about each other through the gaming industry overall, so communication wouldn't be a problem. Also bank loans and other similar procedures exist, so yeah, it would be awesome to say the least. For now, one example (people who got fired or left) comes to mind - "Obsidian Entertainment" and their masterpiece, "The Outer Worlds". Enough said.
