I took my official Shahada today. Thank you Mufti Menk for helping me make up my mind as I was researching. You were my favorite voice among so many beautiful voices, and listening to you made me know this is where I belong. Thank you. Barakallahu Fik! Subhan’Allah ❤
Beyond the aesthetic appeal, the beard holds a deeper meaning in Islam. It symbolizes a man's submission to Allah and his willingness to follow in the footsteps of our Prophet (PBUH). As we cultivate our beards, let us also cultivate our hearts with the values of compassion, humility, and righteousness. Let's strive to be the bearded ambassadors of Islam and spread its beauty and wisdom to the world.
Besides the aesthetic and religious aspect a beard is part of a man, it's natural and its meant to grow naturally on your face and separates us from women.

What's wrong with grey hair. Amr ibn ‘Abasah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever has grown a gray hair in the way of Allah, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection.” Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 1635 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani
Greetings of peace to you my brother 🙏 thanks for the tip, I like your iteration to doing things properly and thoroughly. There's no short cuts to living a discipline. May Allah grant us goodness ❤
Recite this before you sleep: Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa anta, Khalaqtani wa ana Abduka, wa ana ala ahdika wa wa dika mastata tu, A”uzu bika min Sharri ma sana tu, abu'u Laka binematika alaiya, wa abu'u laka bizanbi faghfir lee fa innahu la yaghfiru azunuba illa anta.
Letting the beard grow is not only for the sake of being different, rather it is also part of the fitrah as is proven in Saheeh Muslim, as letting the beard grow is part of the fitrah with which Allaah has created mankind, so that they regard as beautiful that which is in accordance with it and regard as ugly that which goes against it.☝️❤️
Sheikh, jazakallahu khair. But isn’t the sunnah, to let the beard grow without trimming it, or taking from its length? There’s a Hadith rasulullah (saw) saying “pardon the beard”.
Assalammualaikum Mufti Menk. Thanks so much for this video. I have always been wondering about your beard being black and been pondering about what the hadith says. Thanks for clarifying. This is indeed a forgotten sunnah. If it is not troubling for you, would be great if you can do a video where you show the method of how you dye your grey hairs on your beard. There are not many videos of men showing how to dye their beards with henna. I am interested on how you personally do it because MashaAllah yours comes out real nice. Also I think this generation is not too keen on dyeing our beards orange :D
Ameen jzk khair for the reminder Our eyes are an important organ of the body and we should try to use all that we have permissibly May Allah bless you and keep you safe for us ameen
I saw u once at a conference just before COVID when I was really falling apart and had no hope In sha allah would like to meet you one day and this time in sha allah in better circumstances and conditions
Forgive me for asking what may be a naïve question, but I am wondering something. I thought one of the main pillars of Islam was humility, yet here we are talking about how to get the best beard shine possible. That to me feels very vain. I have no idea about it, but I can imagine vanity as something you don't want to aspire to, so what makes the beard vanity different? :) Thank you for your time
I'm no scholar but I do recall one aspect of such a thing is to hide weakness in the form of old age. If you were at a time of war and saw men with grey hair fighting you would see them as weak and frail but with youthful hair colouring that isn't as obvious.
@@LagunaLeonhart Funny reasoning. You could benefit if your enemy actually misperceives you as weak-it's a war strategy. No smart person in this current age would be scared by mere beards anyway.
I never took noticed of mufti menk's beard until today and I have to say, Mashallah it looks great. I'm a girl but I watched this because my younger brother has a beard (that teen beard yknow the young teens tryna grow facial hear) and honestly his beard looks nowhere close to mufti menk's so I thought maybe I could get a few tips and help my brother. Hes young so maybe his beard will grow longer over time. Mufti is so calm, soft spoken that I can listen to him talking about anything. The "Noor" on his face just radiates his positive vibe.
I had the same problem, but a proper beard care will do, beard oil with ricinus oil and argan oil will help alot, also brushing it every morning or night. As-Salamu Alejkum to you and your brother
The report narrated by at-Tirmidhi from Ka‘b ibn Murrah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say: “Whoever has one hair that turns grey in Islam, it will be light (noor) for him on the Day of Resurrection.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh at-Tirmidhi
I don't think my beard could ever make its mind up light browns to ginger now foxy silver strand or too I don't mind I did not think I could even grow one til I embraced Islam an let it grow was a custom to clean shave all my life but Alhamdulillaah for everything you would have tell me I'd look better to add colour to it an I'd think 🤔 about it but I'm not fussed the grey is a sign from Allah SWT we ain't here for ever Allahu Akbar ✌️❤️
Interestingly the only reference I can find online relating to grey hairs is the following: "The Holy Prophet (peace be on him) forbade the plucking away of grey hair". I am not Muslim, nor am I religious at all, but I did find this interesting and wondered where the "deface the grey hair" reference coms from?
Mufti's words, demeanour and smile always makes my heart warm. I do require a bit of help though. Maybe someone knows more than me. Alhamdullilah, I've always been able to grow a nice, natural beard. There are two problems now however. 1. I have eczema and if I grow it too long, my face gets hot, itchy and I end up with spots, nasty oozing ones. So I have to keep it a little shorter than what Islam teaches, is that acceptable within Islamic rules. 2. This is an easy one, I think. But I have developed alopecia and I have patches in my beard now. I'm guessing that it is beyond my control and I am not to be blame for this... Correct? Any help would be appreciated. Jazakallah khaire.
Brother you should: 1. Ask the question to a reputable scholar on what you're doing. 2. Try to use some moisturising oil like Coconut oil which reduces the itching a lot and make more naturally healthy beard. (Worked for me) 3. Wash your beard with a PH Neutral soap/ washing lotion for daily hygiene and once a week use some shampoo with conditioner. (It eases the itching as well and keep my beard more hygienic) 4. For the alopecia you'll need to get to a doctor. May Allah reward you for your efforts and ease your path.
Naratted by Umar bin Al khattaab A.s I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for."
Slms when i dye my beard i look ten years younger. I also get a feeling of being playful and get a tendency of wanting to date younger woman. But as people from Adam. We cannot indulge into what is Haram. Like adultery. Im 57 and for me keeping my grey beard with black here and there. Reminds me of who i am. And somehow stops me from doing wrong. And as i am a widower im safer with my grey beard. However when my wife was with me. She always made me dye my beard as she was 10 years younger. So it would work for some but not me. Thanks for info. Cause i thought to dye beard is Haram.
The most beloved of people to Allah is the one who brings most benefit to people, and the most beloved of deeds to Allah is making a Muslim happy, or relieving him of hardship, or paying off his debt, or warding off hunger from him.
@@ayman4307 I can take you to the water but I can't force you to drink. Please do proper research. You would have to consistently apply it if you're using it for the hair on your head but what it does for the face is different, it stimulates folicile growth. Genetics plays a massive role there's no denial but I can almost guarantee you that it works however there are side effects. All the best brother.
@@zameerjaffer9454 i will stick to growing it natural im 19 and its almost full but what i have heard from others is that it wont stay👍🏻 salam aleykum may allah accept your fast
This hadeeth has supporting evidence in the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not pluck out grey hairs, for they will be light on the Day of Resurrection.” And; “If a man’s hair turns grey in Islam, for each grey hair he will have one hasanah and will rise one degree in status.” Narrated by Ibn Hibbaan. Al-Albaani said in Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth al-Saheehah (3/247): its isnaad is hasan.
Let me share my strategies; I hope you don't mind. To be successful in anything requires 101% effort. The same with exams. The preparation begins the day the course starts; many wait for the exam season to arrive before starting the preparation! This is a big misconceptions. Similarly some people think they will start preparing for the akhirah when they are old. Research the topics you are learning by reading widely. This will help you widen your vocabulary. I would say use most of your free time reading! Remember the first word revealed by Allah was IQRA (Read)! Work smartly, revise at times when the brain is most receptive ie early morning NOT late at night! You will need to change your sleeping habits! Practise past exam questions using the precise vocabulary. Lastly don't let your mobile phone control you and ASK Allah for success! All the best!
Is it sunnah to cut any of the beard? I know that the Prophet saws said "trim the moustache and leave the beard". But today we are forced to do so. He cut none of the beard so why do we? May Allah make it easy for us to obey Him and worship Him. Ameen.
dear Mufti Menk, you didn't address how your beard is so proper and nice and symmetrical. Allahumma Baarik. would really like to know that bit because not a lot of us have such a tidy beard
But in Quran it mentions that about beard leave it alone so should we trimm it colour it and all is that won't go against, let me know about this place
Stay well groomed and fragrant the elegance will show like it dies with sheikh mufti Menk it’s part of sunnah to maintain personal hygiene not be like a scruff bag
You can just tell your beard is enhanced, the lining you can tell you uaed something to keep the colour and make it look fuller with either a coloured pencil or enhancement
Daily dhikr Hadith whoever remembers Allah Allah remembers you no matter how small it is Allahu akbar LAILAHA ilalahu Muhammadurasoolullah Subhanallah alhamdulilah Astaghfirullah Allahumma ajirni minan naar Hasbunallahu wanimal wakeel LA quwata ila bila hil aliul Azim Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi Subhanallahil Azim LA ilalaha ilalahu Wahdahu LA sharikalahu walahul hamdu yuhyi wayumeetu biyadahil khair wahuwaala kulli shayin qadeer 3rd kalimah ayatul kursi
Its totally prohibited to trim a beard. We only follow the Prophet. اطيعو الله و اطيعو رسول و لا تبتلو اعمالكم Follow ALLAH and His Messenger, and do not invalidate your deeds.
