Starting at a lower heat and increasing when needed is a good practice! Also, I’m going to say your hair isn’t smoking, I’m 99% sure that it is the product you put on it. Which is a good thing, you’d rather it burn the product, that’s what the protectant is there for!

Also ulta is super good with their returns especially if your a beauty member, you should return it if you got it recently and just repurchase it for the sale price because It’s a steal 🙌🏼 even if you don’t have the packaging they will still take the return because you bought it with your member and they have all history of our purchases under your phone number. I love ULTA 😌💕

I read the instructions after and they do state to start with the lowest setting and increase heat gradually as needed. As stated in instruction manual: Low heat - Fine, thin hair Medium Heat - Wavy to medium hair High heat - Thick, hard to style hair It also states smoke is normal during first use due to the oils the plates are coated with. Overall, I am very impressed. What do you think?

How do you usually style your curtain bangs would you recommend using this product for styling curtain bangs or more like a straightener?

I struggle with the curtain bangs. When I use this waver I still use it on my bangs too but I just wave the ends of them .. then either hide them behind my ears or run my fingers through to flip my hair around. They’re so confusing.

It could be a mixture of either and probably pretty hard to determine what’s good or bad smoke. All smoke is scary to me haha

Since owning both I have been reaching for the three barrel every day. I haven’t used the mess behave since. They’re both equally worth it honestly. Maybe shorter hair would love the mess behave more. But the digital features of the wave affair are so on point.
