Matt, you’re living the best years of your life right now. I’d give anything to go back to those times with my boy on the boat with me. Your video warmed my heart and inspired me to start taking my grandsons with me more often.
dude me to brother. 1 thing about berkley is they use scent to attract the bass and thats 1 thing i love about Berkley powerbaits then i do any other soft bait out there on the market. just when i thought i had enough baits for now to get me through the year Matt done comes proves that i gotta try the Maxscent chigger craw.
i echo all the comments on here about the special bond shared between fathers, sons, grandsons and perhaps daughters/granddaughters alike. i lost my dad to covid in january. i cherish the times we spent together on the water. he’s still with me helping from above.

Love it! Wait until Hank gets a Big Muskie 18 lbs will be 1000. My 9 yr old son this year worked one fish for over an hour. Didn’t want to leave it , so I didn’t. He got it.
That is one great video Matt! Hank will remember the times he fished with you forever! These moments are priceless! I was playing with flatworms the other day in my shop and I could not believe how good the 3.6 flatworm looks on a Guppy Head 3/16 or 1/4 with a size one hook. Thank you for all your tips!

Neat video! I love your interaction with Hank. You are providing him with a real life experience. Good review on the Chigger Craw. I bought some Maxscent the General after watching a video you did awhile back. I got a small largemouth when nothing was biting for any of the other Anglers on my boat. I may become a real fan of the Maxscent. Thanks for taking the time and sharing Hank with us.
Yeah this definitely gets a big thumbs-up for Hank's energetic fish release. And now I don't feel nearly as bad about the number of appendages I sometimes lose in a day. 😉

Matt youre making me want to go to bass pro shop and buy this max scent berkley craw now , even htough i bought the zoom black worm and black red lizard
I've been taking my regular power baits and putting them in the pack with my Max Scent baits so they'll take on some of the scent- it's cheating but it works. Then I rough up the outside of them with my thumb nail to kill that shiny, slick look they have. Max Scent has a mat finish to it, and a rough texture- very realistic. The only issue I have with them is durability- max scent seems to interfere with the binding of the plastic a little bit. If it's something fairly thick like a General- no problems. But, if it's something with tiny appendages or thin claws- durability is an issue. Unluckily for me, I don't catch enough for that to be a problem very often.

Do you ever continue using your plastic even when they rip a claw off? I do, one because I’m cheap, and two it seems like I get just as many or more bites. I think bass are smart enough to realize it’s safer to eat a craw with one pincher.
I saw some guy on RU-vid recommend tearing one claw off to make the craw look injured and more attractive to the fish. Not sure if it really works but thought I’d mention it.

Matt, have you ever fished with the gigantic 5” Chigger Craw? I bought a pack a couple of years ago and never really found a use for them. I think maybe C-rig but never reach for them when the time comes.
a lot of times i throw right back in with one leg remaining while i get other leg out and then switch. I want to get back in as soon as possible on an aggressive fish.
