When I was researching to buy this bike I noticed there are not many videos out there when it comes to this model. Great video.. I purchased the exact same bike a couple of week ago, and love it. In the UK we also have to pay for the box (£18). Unfortunately, mine came with a broken clamp and missing extension bar cap, which is more down to UPS and not Canyon, although they are replacing it, the the estimated despatch date is September 24th 2021. Thought I’d share, happy riding.

😂 I freaked out about the seat tube too and it took me a 30 min to figure the piece was in the box. The assembly videos don't tell you this. Loving my Speedmax CF SL.

Right?!? A friend of mine just got the same bike as me but the blacked out version and the same thing happened with him! Found his all the down the seat post tube. Had to fish it out using a wire hangar! LOL

Very helpful video, it helped me make my decision on a Speedmax so thank you! Random question, what bike stand do you have in this video? It seems like it’d be very helpful to use while assembling, also for future tuning/cleaning of the bike. Thanks again!

Hi James, sorry for the slower reply. I've got the Bikehand repair stand. I purchased it on Amazon. There are many great bike stands out there, no need for something super high end but don't aim to cheap out either. This one cost me around $130 CAD if I remember correctly.

Great video. I have an issue with the bottle holder. I have the SLX but only one screw hole available for the bottle holder adaptor. Canyon support sent me a link to your video for support!!! Do you have a close up shot of the attached bottle holder?

Great video! Got mine assembled yesterday. Looking forward to getting fitted so I can start racking up the miles and smiles. One quick question. Which bottle adapter did you end up getting? GP0024-01 or GP0221-01? I’m pretty sure it’s the first one, but want to double check with you. Thank you!

@@gregstrijourney hey Greg, awesome video’s I am looking at the same bike and had a follow up question on the size. I am just about 6’1” with a 34” inseam. Imagine you are around the same. Are you happy with the medium? I feel like I must be on the top end for size for the medium and don’t want to go to small or too big.

@@kenthrasher9987 Hi Ken, thanks for tuning in. Im glad you enjoy the videos. I appreciate you sharing that. To answer your question. I am 6ft and 32" inseam. I have SOOO much available seat post remaining to raise hight, so that should easily address the inseam element and I think you would fit fine on the medium. I recommend following the size recommender on the canyon website. It's quite accurate. I've almost always ridden a large/56" but canyon's are made much much bigger. I would trust Medium is likely good for you if the website says so as well! - Keep me posted on what you end up getting!! :)

Hi Pablo, thank you for tuning in and for the nice message. To answer it’s the Shimano Ultegra R8000 4iiii Powermeter and it’s single sided (left side).

You can send the right crank to 4iii and they will install a powermeter on it. So this way you have a double sided powermeter.

Hey Chris - how exciting! Did you get the non-mint as well? To answer your question, the plug comes inside the "Let's Get Started" box if I remember correctly. It's rubber with a flat front but the part that affixes to the inside almost looks like a half moon? Wish I could share photos here, if easier message me on instagram so I can send you what it looks like. From there you simply pop it into place and you're good to go!

@@gregstrijourney thanks for the info. I found it. Somehow it ended up up at the bottom of the bike box. Luckily I hadn’t toss the box yet. Mine is the black one. Going through fitting and adjustments. Can’t wait to hit the road and try it. Weather is finally getting warmer over here, I’m from Toronto. Cheers!

Beautiful bike! Congrats man! I'm interested in a Canyon as well. Would you know what the percentage is that UPS charges for taxes, duty and brokerage fees? I live in Ontario. Have fun with your bike.

Hey Hernani, I am also in Ontario. I am in Ottawa. UPS charged approximately $1100 in fees in addition to Canyon’s $99 shipping flat rate. So for your budget aim for bike cost plus $99 shipping and then ~$1100 in taxes, import and duty fees from UPS. When the bike arrives in Canada at Customs they will contact you and ask if you would like them or someone else to broker it for you. I just asked them to do it, a day later the bike was released. Hi Luca, it’s technically an after market part put I purchased it right off the wahoo website when I first purchased my element bolt 1.5 years ago. It seems Wahoo has since developed their own and It’s called aerobar TT mount bolt computers. Search mount on their website and it should come up 👍

Amazing! I’m excited for you and hopefully this video helped get you even more excited! To answer your question, canyon sends some spacers, 5, 10, 20mm (20 already on the bike). Hi Tom! Thanks for tuning in, I am glad you enjoyed the video. Yes the bento box can be removed. I have a new video coming out in the 2 days about cleaning up the cables and removing the bento box. However, you would need to cover the hole.

Congrats, Greg, and thanks for sharing!! Awesome bike. Question for you (as a fellow Canadian triathlete), when I look on the Canyon site and go to check out my cart, it says for the CF 8 Disc Di2 that the total is 7977$, plus estimated taxes of 1349$, and also estimated duty of 1037$. Do these numbers make sense? Seems like I would be paying taxes twice at this price :o Thanks again and enjoy your tri season!!

Hey Seth - Thanks for tuning in. I am 6ft0 tall and I ordered a size Medium. Canyon does have a find your size calculator on their website. If I remember correctly it's on the Speedmax page. It felt strange ordering a medium as most bikes i've ridden in the past are a size Large but it seems Canyon's specs are a bit different. A guy like Lionel Sanders is riding a small and he's 5ft 8 for reference.

Hi Jake, the walls we built ourselves, a fun renovation that took some time. The flooring comes from a local Fitness Depot, which is a fitness equipment store that sells mainly to commercial. They also sell to private consumers so we picked up 3, 3x4 mats and they’re awesome!

You say it has an integrated Cadence and Powermeter? My knowledge Ultegra Di2 doesn't come with a standard crank based powermeter.

silly question, how do you mount the lower bento box?

Hi Jarrett, the lower bento is 3D printed to fit right into its location. From there when you open it up and look inside theirs a little hold just like a water bottle cage hole. I’ve got mine screwed in as it had popped off before during a race with the rubber pin they give you. Make sure it’s on tight!

Paying for the bike guard isn't something Canada exclusive... Here in Germany (where canyon is from) we also are forced to pay extra for the bike guard 30€ and 20€ for shipping ...
