Congratulations on your New GSA. I too picked a 2023 R BMW 1250 GSA Triple Black. Very comfortable ride great power. Only has 260 miles on it. Trying to get 600 miles on it so I can get the first service done. Looking forward to your upcoming videos.
Ah, I was disappointed up until you told me you were going to buy a new Africa Twin and didn't want to wait. I can understand that. Look forward to seeing what you do with it.
This was a smoking deal. The bike is a 2020 and only had 147 miles on it. Hard to pass up. I figured I could always sell it if I’m disappointed with it and get another AT
Looking forward to your reviews and adventures on your new bike. I ride a 2017 AT and was thinking of upgrading to a GS in the next couple years. So congrats on your purchase! I’m sure many of your followers will be interested in the transition.
I’ve always enjoyed the content on your channel. Congratulations on the new bike. Being a big GSA fan. I am so much more. Looking forward to your contact. In the future. Especially on the long trips. Alaska is one on my bucket list. Enjoy it. Be safe and ride on.
I have a 2007 1200gs standard with spoke wheels and progressive springs it goes anywhere and every where . Love mine even though it’s old good choice bud 👍🏻
I was for sure it was the T7. GS is a big bike, you've shown us that you can bring them in spots most won't. Stoked for the new ride. Looking forward to seeing more.
Congrats on the new Starbucks machine Kyle. Guys at Outback make a mean set of lowers and skid plate. Solid choice, sure look good on my new 1250. Congrats on the purchase. Hope to see you on the backroads of CDA.
Maybe we can meet up. I know one things for sure you’ll never see this bike parked out in front of a Starbucks. Maybe at my Coffee house that opens in July but not a Starbucks. 😆
Coffee house, that's probably smart. Get some ROI on all that coffee you drink. Push some name brand, good stuff.... Ill figure out a way to shoot you a DM. #IncomingPatreon
Nice Middle-weight adventure bike! I’ll miss seeing you on the Africa Twin. I’ve still got my 2019 base model with 36k old man miles. Can’t pick it up anymore without the MotoWinch.
Gorgeous looking BMW! Looking forward to seeing your build out! Just bought a R1250 GS myself recently; installed ALT RIDER crash bars and skid plate last week! Trying to decide between MOSKO and LONE RIDER for soft panniers!
I have a loaded up T7 and a new 1250gsa. I put 30,000 miles on the T7 in 8 months. Now that I have the GSA, I would do all the same miles on it as the T7 and it would do it better. The GSA is a fantastic bike even off road. Plus all the maintenance is super easy to do myself. I love my T7 but I’ve only ridden it 1 time in the three months I’ve had my GSA.
I was hoping the TW200 was going to pop up. It's a goat of a bike. Might be to late for this, if you've already got your "Why I bought this bike" video done already. Will you share your thought process of why you chose what you did, and what you were considering, and what you weren't considering at all. Eg. Pan America, 1290 Super Adventure R, Desert X, Multistrada Rally, Tuareg, etc.
I will absolutely do that. It’ll probably be a couple of weeks honestly before that video is out. I want to get some good time in on the bike before I released anything. But there were definitely some options out there that I was looking at. My Mind was made up on a 2023 Honda Africa Twin, but just a few days before I made this video, this deal fell in my lap, and it was just too good to pass up. The bike had 147 miles on it and it is a 2020. I paid only a couple of thousand dollars more than what the 23 Honda was going to cost me.
Haha I was going to do the reveal video stopping at a bunch of Starbucks on the way home from Boise Idaho to my house in North Idaho, but the weather turns complete shit, so I just hunker down and made it home. That would have been fun too.
Way to go , I got one this year a 2022 got it mostly kited out for now. WeGher is getting g. Ice so will be getting out in the woods soon, got to get some different tires for it. What kind are you going to put on yours? Live in Wash. State on Olympic Penn. lots of riding areas to train on getting back to the dirt after 20 years of riding Harleys. An not wait to get it out, what a bike still getting to know it. Can not wait her your opinion of it once you get it out. Love your. Channel watch it all the time great content beer and gear is great too.
Congrats..hoped you’d try the dct adventure sports just because I’m blown away at where I can ride mine, but the gs is very cool. No chain to mess with would be awesome. I’ll be looking forward to seeing your future adventures!
Thanks. Yes, the ease of maintenance on this bike is going to be real nice. I put almost 500 miles on it on the way home yesterday and I am just blown away.
The gsa is an awesome bike on and off road. I had a 2018 that I did 5k miles in 7 days on. The adventure also has better suspension than the regular gs. Congrats!
5000 miles in seven days is pretty amazing. I don’t doubt it though because just doing 450 on the way home yesterday I was the most comfortable I’ve ever been on a motorcycle.
@@backcountryadvmoto Felt the same way when i traded my Africa twin on a regular GS. @dubuqueDue you can get the GSA suspension on a regular GS. Its the sport suspension option with the Rallye package.
Should be interesting to hear your feedback on it compared to the africa twin! Also would like to hear about why you don't do the T7? i get it for longer on road travel but when it comes to anything else i feel it'd be a better feel to it than the 1000cc+/500lbs+ bikes.
I will gladly work harder off road to be comfortable when pounding the pavement. I put 450 miles on it on the way home from picking it up yesterday and even though it was raining and snowing, I was way more comfortable than I’ve ever been on any other bike.
@@backcountryadvmoto ya I’ve rode a lot of bikes of the years and man can’t beat the set the Cruze control and put down the miles. Hit the trails get back on the tarmac and keep rolling.
Congrats on the new bike, absolutely love the color choice. Just finished watching Ariemann on the Safari and it's definitely a capable bike. Sounds amazing with an Akro pipe on it. Can't wait to see what you do with it. *T4S*
This is great!! I love the fact that you’re sticking with the big bikes. I’m nowhere near as talented a rider, but am drawn to the larger bikes. The ability to go slightly silly places with them and also tour if that’s what the ride is calling for. Or if it means my off-road riding is 1200 highway miles away and I want to be comfortable for that. I also just bought a 1250 GS! Still hanging onto my Africa Twin tho… too much sentimental value lol also my Honda spent 5 weeks in the shop last October so they could troubleshoot /order parts for what came down to being a faulty TFT screen. So I wanted a backup in case that ever happens again 😂
Thanks for your honestly. I totally get it. That’s how I am with KTMs To each their own. There are so many good bike out there. We are pretty lucky as consumers to be able to have such great options. I hope to show watchers of this channel that these bikes can do more than pavement and Starbucks ☕️
I don’t ,that was part of the joke. A lot of people on RU-vid make money on things that are relevant right now in the market and then move onto the next thing, and then the next thing and I get it business wise but I make videos for myself and others to enjoy not just to make money.
I had every intention of buying a new Africa twin until about four days ago when this deal fell in my lap. Couldn’t pass it up. The bike only has 147 miles on it and I paid just barely over what the new AT cost? To be honest I thought of you and some of your comments and I’ve watched your experience with your change from the Africa twin to the GSA and it had some weight when making a decision so thank you.
Great! Great channel and very very helpful content. And now even better you are continuing on a big bike. Excellent choice and a great bike. Looking forward to the video
Started watching your videos several years ago when I bought an AT. Loved the bike but my riding buds had GSAs and peer pressure got the best of me. Like you, I found a killer deal on a r1250GS "Sport/Rallye" 2 years ago and haven't regretted it one bit. Congrats on the new bike!
Congratulations on the new Bike ! I'd have still followed along with you on the Honda 50. I'm really curious what you think of the BMW and I've never seen you be anything but honest with your reviews and knowing that longer term you will b e putting the miles on it that it deserves. Congrats again and happy to be along for the ride and see what you think. (this is coming from a guy who bleeds Orange but loves everything with two wheels) Also huge props for Mosko for partnering with you to have their luggage on your new bike.
Lol. This tickled me. Great choice with the BMW. I have one too. Just bought a 500 KTM to make an adventure project but miss the comfort of the GSA already. Will probably see you tearing it up and go back to taking the GSA out. Looking forward to the build vids. Enjoy! Cheers, Jim. Portsmouth, UK. 👍🏻
😂😂 hell no! I can’t stand Starbucks coffee. I am actually opening a Coffee house in July and you will probably see a lot of that in my camping gear here soon.
@@backcountryadvmoto just giving you a hard time, it’s a bmw thing, I just sold my Africa twin and got a new ktm 690 , loving the weight loss , but miss the twin a little
I too went from ATAS to new GSA and dare I say that the gs has been slightly better handling in those inappropriate off-road detours. The hype is real! For me at least. A mere mortal. I thought you’d get a Norden. Ha! I’ll be keeping up with your progress as you dig into your bike. It’ll be a really good resource for us hopeless boxer folk.
Congrats, man. I actually started watching you because I couldn't find many channels with the ATAS - was (is) my first bike so I was learning from the ground up from you in lots of ways. Thanks for the educational info shared on that bike! Good luck with the new one. The guys I ride with have bmws and I am the odd man out 😅
I KNEW IT!! No I didn’t. I didn’t know that. Bit surprised to be honest. Interested to see how that front suspension holds up to your riding style. GREAT choice for the long distance plans you mentioned for sure 🤘
You and me both! I actually already have a lead on new suspension to make it bulletproof. Working with touratech right now lots of new goodies on the way from partners to help build this thing up and make it even more awesome. I put almost 500 miles on it on the way home yesterday and I am just blown away.
Can’t do it. I had my eye on an 890 R, but like I said, I like to go against the grain. Bummed that the 23 Africa twin is not out yet. They’re not even released on the honda website yet. A quarter of the year is gone by.
Damn dude, not at all what I expected to see!!! Great bike, but I thought you were going lighter!! I hope you freaking love it, and I can’t wait to see the content it inspires!!! I’m gonna ride my 16 AT for the foreseeable future, and it’s great, but happy to see you step up to the GSA!! 🤘🏼
I really did love the Africa twin and like I said in the video had every intention of buying another one, but this deal fell into my lap about four days ago, and it was too good of a deal to pass up.
Man, you are gonna miss the AT! I love my 2021 ATAS, performed great on the IDBDR. I’ve seen many GSA’s off-road and rode a couple, although they are very nice bikes they are too too big! That big tank negates the low engine design. But congrats and looking forward to seeing your adventures on it.
Thanks! Don’t take this the wrong way, but I hope to prove you wrong 😁. I have friends that have GSAs and they do everything I did on my AT. Time well tell I guess. 🍻
Hey Kyle!, looking forward to your new adventures on the new bike. Really liked your last trip on the continental divide. So your planning on doing it again. Your choosing a new route I would suppose. Looking forward to it. Are you going to ride the Oregon BDR this summer?
I am going to do the ORBDR this year. My last big trip was WY and the divide ride will be my first time. I’ve done the Pacific Divide which mirrors the pacific crest trail along the Cascades and Sierras
@@backcountryadvmoto There's a challenge for U take the TW out for an overnighter it makes a great way to change things up and challenges your perceptions.....
@@backcountryadvmoto I meant the GSA is a nice bike in my original reply so really interested to see your comparisons to the AT. While U still have both bikes in the shed do some footage of both bikes together U can use later. It would be nice to see them side by side ... Great to see your sense of humour come out ☺️
