I work as a paralegal in Indianapolis. I have followed this case for a long time. There is no doubt in my mind, as a professional, that Mr. Avery was denied a fair trial and that Mrs. Zellner met her burden that entitles Mr. Avery to a new trial. If you do legal research and compare similar cases, you can find people getting new trials with LESS evidence than what Steven Avery has. The only difference is that those cases were not high profile cases.... I believe that politics are at play here. This would be a huge black eye for the county and state of Wisconsin if his conviction is overturned. Think of the money they would have to fork over. How their reputations, etc. would be ruined. Wouldn't there be motive for them to deny Steven relief? You bet there is. There are good people in our judicial system, but just like the other side of the coin, there are bad people, too. We see it all the time. One only has to do research. Read my comments below in the replies to see what I think about Brendan Dassey's case.
In the case of Brendan Dassey, he likewise is being denied justice. Others having made confessions, people with education with a 9th grade education, had their confessions found involuntary. See: GREENWALD v. WISCONSIN, 390 U.S. 519 (1968). Wisconsin courts have a nasty history of saying coerced confessions are not coerced. Yet, Brendan Dassey is being treated differently than other similarly-situated people...
Brendan was led by the Detectives to get answers that they could use to get Steven Avery. I find it a hypocrisy that Dassey's led confession can be used against him, but when in court and conducting direct examination, leading a witness to answer a certain way is prohibited and objectionable.
I think Teresa’s family have a lot to do with not having a new trial because it’s not fair to them to have to relive her murder. I don’t know if they’re truly guilty, but 24 ppl voted that they were and the courts would rather have them in prison for life than retry both cases which would disrespect her family and her memory. It’s wrong all the way around for everyone plus there may be a murderer still walking free.

During the trial...there was rumours about...that EARL lived in Menasha for a while...and his neighbor disappeared from her apt parking lot...she was Lori Depess. Miricale up on miricale his apartment and hers were suddenly ruined by huge apt fire. I would be willing to bet...He was responsible. No one looked into that connection that I know of. I lived in the area at that time. My friend had a small cafe and fed the Avery family and attorneys free of charge because she felt so strongly that Steven and Brendan were innocent. The prosecuting attorney had scandal later and is practicing way up north Wisconsin. This story is not over. I was unaware of many this gr8 you mentioned here. Bobby was home the entire morning and told police he was sleeping (which was proven to be a lie, due to all his computer records that show he was on and offline the entire day). There are also witnesses that saw Thersea pull out of the Avery yard (which disputes the entire theory the prosecutors put foward) and Bobby followed her. He was then seen by said witnesses IN her car and then pushing it into the Avery yard!! If that doesn't point to gult, i'll give you more.... Bobby Dasseys computer history (which only he had the password to) was deleted and investigators got it back. His searches included R@pe, How to burn a body, Handcuffing, How to kill someone and get away with it, etc etc i could go on and on and on.

I don't know how they found Steven guilty, there was a ton of doubt. If we are to believe the prosecutions case that he attacked her in his bedroom with a knife and then took her to his garage where she was shot, where is all that evidence. There was no blood in his room nor garage, there is no way he was able to clean it so well that the investigaters couldn't find blood with Luminol. Just that alone ruins the prosecutions case. I don't believe he did it and there were several other bad family memeber's and friends that should have been thoroughly investigated, but it seems law enforcement wanted to focus only on Steven because they have a history. That conflict alone should have compromised the case from the begining. Steven would have received millions of dollars in the lawsuit for his prior incarceration, why in the world would he jeopardize that and commit a murder. If he is truly guilty then he is where he needs to be, however if he was framed it's beyond awful. Hopefully the truth will eventually come out.
The truth has already come out and can be seen in the details of evidence inside and on the Rav4, but SA will never acknowledge the truth because having done so will end the support he gets from the idiots that send money to his commissary account!
There was no doubt when he was convicted. The evidence was vastly conclusive against him. The Making A Murderer docuseries was edited and misleading to make a compelling story. It grossly misrepresented the facts. Avery’s blood in the Rav4 alone was damning, as it’s impossible to explain otherwise.
2017 Bobby tells Detering he didn't know Teresa, or why she was there, or why his mom was selling the van. He didn't now the name Kuss Rd. He lies continuously.

We just need a retrial!!!! A crushed trailer en route. A crushed one month old blazer. A crushed Barb vehicle that she originally wanted to sell. If there had been any sort of investigation in the first place, we would all have no questions. People just want answers. Law enforcement have a lot (all) to answer for in this botch job! Barbs van is officially crushed as of today 2-3-22.. Not shortly after Steven was arrested or b4/after his trial.. As for Bobby's Black Blazer, that was sold to one of his friends and never junked at the yard.. Since it was never returned to the yard, they could have never crushed it.! Then again, they do still have the fiero yet as of today.
@debi12167 In the UK, we have what is called a log book... so if you sell your car, the 'log book' has to be sent away to have change of ownership details (this is required by law)... to the DVLA (driver and vehicle license agency-government dept)... Is there nothing equivocal in the USA that would evidence change of ownership?

Law enforcement only wanted Brendan to say that Steven had a fire. Then after talking they realised that they could pretty much get Brendan to agree with anything they said, so they kept him talking and guided him down the path because they knew 100% they can convict Steven. Brendan got absolutely railroaded. A 16 year old intellectually disabled kid lost his entire life because they were so hellbent on taking Steven down
Brendan stated in one of his interviews that they wanted to put her in the pond on the property or right off the property so put her in the rav. Then he decided it was better to burn her.. Have you not read any of the case files?

Bobby planted his blood from getting it from his trailer, SA has always claimed he cut his finger and there was blood in his bathroom sink that he didn’t clean up but it was gone after the headlights they saw on the property. Why would you think Bobby put TH in the fire SA lit? There’s a different burn site that was found as well as human remains

Because there was a single stabbing in the bedroom and puncture wounds like that rarely cause a lot of blood spatter. Very little or no evidence of blood or cleanup after the fact is quite common with single stab events.

Yes I watched all of it. It is very eye opening. Making a murderer left out a LOT of evidence so that people would side with Avery. Avery is not innocent like everyone thinks.

I watched it, and the documentary showed how the Mocumentary making a murderer cut and past answers from one part of the testimony to other questions asked, Then these rug munchers come out and say that they are story tellers and its entertainment. I remember seeing the blue trailer on the very first episode of MaM on a family video not in real time during the episode. I remember thinking where’s this trailer connected on the family compound? I’m sure if I go back and rewatch the documentary I will see or hear something different because there’s so much to take in and absorb. I just watched the documentary for the first time and finished the last episode today. I can’t believe it’s been around since 2015. I don’t know what to believe. I’m definitely on the fence regarding both Steven and Brenden. Bobby and the stepfather are two to go back and rewatch. Honestly I don’t think there’s much footage of Bobby, wondering why.
Regardless of the show. This case- like a lot in the states are a cluster fuk of terrible policing and even worse courtroom antics. I can't get past the lack of actual evidence, like no blood inside residence, and for there to be small fragments she must have been dissmembered, the barrel screams transported remains, sa was an easy fall guy

You first have to listen/see the May 12 interview (with that awful investigator and without his lawyer!!), then the interview with the LE, the next morning (again, without his lawyer!). Very few people changed their minds after watching CAM. Zellner's next court filing is expected to be filed in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully the new judge is able to rule on the facts of the case and not make false statements of fact like the previous judge did.

It’s obvious the family is involved in some way & it’s so strange it was like Mike O was off limits, didn’t have to testify, then you have Barb saying they were all set up, just speculation but I don’t think it’s that straight forward as just Bobby did it, there’s still something weird, the car reported to LE being spotted at the turn around, the report on the 3rd of finding the car & Teresa is kidnapped, the police battery in her car when found on the Avery salvage & also the absolute odd behaviour & no emotion of Mike, Ryan & Teresa’s family just makes you wonder what really happened to her I feel it had to be something that Teresa’s family had accepted like an accident of some sort maybe & then there’s a plan to fix the Steven Avery lawsuit. Mike not knowing what to hope for- just the car or Teresa in it, definitely was just looking for the car quite bizarre. Even if they were just helping to plant evidence there would still be emotions!! Just nothing makes sense! Why was there 130+ searches-visits to Teresa’s home anyone would think that that was the crime scene.

Illusion of Justice is a fantastic book! I HIGHLY recommend it. I actually downloaded it on Audible and listened to it. It cemented how I felt about Jerry Buting. He is an amazing human being.

How did Bobby get access to Stevens 22 rifle and shoot her in his garage without Steven being aware? Why is Steven's blood in the vehicle and not Bobby's? How did Bobby make a massave fire without Steven wondering what's going on? Why did Brendan blame Steven for the crime and not his brother, Bobby?
Even the state said in the appeals court that they never said that those bullets found in the garage went through TH's skull. It is all smoking mirrors. Do you really think that SA would shoot her and then put the rifle above his own bed, but clean up the trailer forensically.. The question of the RAV is not why Bobby's blood is not in the RAV , but if his finger prints on anywhere on it. You believe that SA would leave a few drops of blood in the victim's car but not anywhere else like the door handles, steering wheel or shifter and not check it but then leave the area and go to Crivitiz. ? Of course we don'[t know any of that for sure because the state will not let the RAV be re examined . Experts have waded in over the years and said the pit could not have been hot enough. to burn a body . Making it bigger would not do it. A burn barrel would work. Many people believe she was killed somewhere else and even buried at some point at Kuss Rd if you know about that. If you listen to the interview of Brendan you will hear him constantly shift his responses as he tries to please the interviewers.. Too bad his lawyer conveniently had a national guard meeting that day and could not attend

He would have to had been capable of placing the blood in ways that would fool forensic analysts into thinking it came from an open wound. He would also have needed to acquire the blood within half an hour from when it left Steven’s body, which is even more unlikely. The blood definitely didn’t come from the vile that Steven claims, since it didn’t contain the anti-coagulating agents that were in the vile sample to keep it from clotting.
Steve bled in his bathroom sink and didn’t clean it up. That’s where the 2 drops of blood that caused smears came from, it’s not that hard to figure out. The smear by the wheel looks like a Q tip did it, look at it u can see it!! I’m sure he was able to gain access to his uncle trailer or stop by to see him between oct 31 and nov 6
Why does not KZ or SA address the Rav4 evidence and the details of which that prove TH was attacked and her body loaded into the Rav4 and the TH blood transferred into the cargo area and the bottom right foot of the cargo seat as the Rav4 remained parked at the berm location? The details of the mud in the tire and fender well prove factual that TH was attacked in the salvage yard at the location her car was found and the Rav4 moved forward a few feet from the location it was originally parked when the attack occurred. KZ and SA both avoid those evidence details and try to offer alternate locations of where the crime could have occurred while ignoring the obvious details that prove an attack having occurred at the berm location. If SA had moved the Rav4 forward and had accidentally left his blood in the cargo area, it is not proof of it Having been SA that attacked and murdered TH, but to deny the mud evidence details in the fender and tires that proves the Rav4 was moved forward and gives reason for the SA blood having been transferred and dripped in the cab is an obvious deflection of factual evidence that proves when and where TH was attacked and her blood transferred onto the door jamb and into the cargo area when her body was loaded for concealment before having been retrieved and burned.
That was NOT even close to being a "blockbuster interview." Avery's stories have changed so many times over the years, no one knows what to believe when he talks. Avery is a liar. He's a crook. And, he's a murderer.
