Great review as always! I recently purchased a thin and crispy pepperoni pizza from Heron. It was their x sell range {330g}. It had fifteen slices of pepperoni no frills packaging and cost £1.00. I added a few jalapeno chillies the taste was very good and the crust did not go hard. Considering it cost £1.00 I would have to give it a nine out of ten. Looking forward to the next review!
I know what's coming everytime, you cut into a pizza, the joke about how many pieces to cut it into. And i still laugh everytime, keep doing what you do pal
Good review. My nearest Iceland is about 8 miles, small in town with no parking nearby. The other is a Warehouse with a huge car park but about 17 miles away. Don't bother with either. Used to shop Iceland regularly but life has changed, I've moved home. I'd not buy Blue Dragon stuff, as many have said a weak western version of Asian food but expensive. Make your own sweet chilli sauce, it is incredibly easy and you can make to your own taste. I conned a mate for years that I bought a special one, but they called one day when I was making it. Opppps! You could easily make one batch for the children and add extra chilli for you. I add little chunks of red or orange pepper to keep my chopping skills in check.
Hi Gareth I love your reviews because they are so authentic. However, I have coeliac disease and can’t eat anything containing or contaminated by wheat, barley or rye. This includes secondary things like malt vinegar because malt is roasted barley. Could you do a few gluten free reviews please.
Got one of these in my Iceland order yesterday along with a bag of frozen chicken fajita mix. Going to try the pizza tomorrow and add some extra frozen diced chicken to it.
Just been to Iceland I saw this new range so i got the sweet chilli pizza too I also spotted a new range, the grill house I think, it's all Donna kebabs and kebabs meat also Donna burgers! Maybe review this range next gaz? Spot on review and vlog keep em coming they are useful when we're doing our food shopping.👌👍
I was in Iceland earlier and wondered if you had seen any of this range. I almost got the Hoi Sin version. I picked up the pork belly slices that im defrosting for tomorrow. 👍👍
ALDI has a very similar pizza, sweet chilli chicken stonebaked thin crust pizza... 340g for just £1.39. After I take off most of the onions (yuk) it's so tasty. In fact ALDI's range of pizzas are nearly all less than £3.50 and some are over 400g. Just out of interest, did you weigh the pizza? It didn't look 450g to me. just asking. Cheerio.
Great video! I'm coeliac so wouldn't be able to eat this, it looked amazing though so it's given me the idea to get a basic gluten free cheese & tomato and then top with similar toppings and drizzle sweet chilli sauce over. Thanks!!
Appreciate the channel, especially the drive trips out and about. How about going to Bath Street Bakery and sampling their gorgeous vanilla slice? Supporting local businesses is a must and using cash.
It's good to see a pizza that once cooked, looks exactly like the pizza on the packaging. I recommend you try the Asda stone baked spicy meat feast pizza. At only £1.79, it's great value and my regular choice 🙂
interesting to see that the curry pizza is making a comeback of sorts. I remember the lasot time curry pizzas made an appearance in supermarket freezers - they weren't bad, but, they also didn't last very long and everyone dialled it back to 'normal stuff on a pizza'. given that pre-made pizzas are subject to more base than toppings, I've always opted to make my own - cheaper!!
Should do a review on an Aldi frozen pepperoni/ sweet chilli chicken pizzas which sell for £1.39. Amazing and much better value for money. The supermarkets must be absolutely raking it in with the mark up of these pizzas especially when you consider what they cost to make.
I wasnt keen on frozen pizza before, but then i cut one in half and cooked in air fryer. (190-7mins) The result was amazing, cooked to perfection. I even eat the crust now, no dryness at all. Iceland pepperoni for 1 pound, add extra toppings.
I love sweet chilli sauce. Blue Dragon and Sharwoods make some delicious Asian-style sauces. I would go for this pizza, especially as I can get 10% off on a Tuesday.
Iceland used to make their own sweet chilli chicken pizza, I'm talking about fifteen years ago but it was really good as I remember. I might give this one a try. Thanks for another honest review 💜💜💜
It was until very recently actually. It also had the green peppers like the BD one does. Rather a strange coincidence that it is now discontinued. I'm sure the Blue Dragon branding makes it taste loads better though (not) EDIT: just looked and they do actually still make their own sweet chilli chicken pizza for £1.65
I buy a few Blue Dragon items. Their sauces and stir fry mixes are pretty good. I didn’t know they did pizza. It looks better than most but it is on the small side for me. But for £3.50 you don’t expect a Domino’s quality 🤫🤫. It’s OK for a quick snack though. As a lover of sweet chilli sauce, I would probably like it. Another great review Gareth.👍🏻👍🏻.
Hi Gareth , maybe next time you go on hol's to France you can try out Carfore megamarket . You can get allsorts in there , wines & beers galore . Their cheese department alone is bigger than most tesco express stores ! A
You think pizza is best made fresh...... Never in the world 🤣🤣 So does everyone else if you didn't know but frozen pizzas are alot cheaper and more available to people
@@terryrealgooner5870 On the contrary, it makes a huge difference to the base. Stops it from being soggy in the middle like many frozen pizzas suffer from.
Certainly looked okay but I don't think I'll be rushing out to buy one at £3.50. By the way, next time you're in Iceland have a look out for their brand new "Heinz Tomato Ketchup Hash Browns". Just happened to see them whilst I was shopping in there earlier on today 👍
I`ve never tried that sauce and don`t really have a sweet tooth esp., where hot food is concerned. Would you say the sauce could have been used more sparingly on the pizza Gareth ?
Gareth what the hell are Blue Dragon doing in the pizza business 😄 . The best selling frozen pizza in Italy is ' Dr . Oetker ' maybe a message there . Hey Gareth , a boy racer like you could be back from Sainsbury's in 20 mins 😁 . Take it easy 👍
Not for me, I’m afraid. I haven’t tasted one, but my preference is for chillies and olives and pepperoni style pizzas. I do like to add a few slices of tomato and chop up an extra chilli, spread a little more cheese perhaps, onto any pizza that I buy frozen. I don’t buy them very often though. Once or twice a year maybe? Thanks for the vid.
£3.50 for a ten inch (was it?) pizza from Iceland seems an awful lot - until you get a Domino's Pizza leaflet through the door. Their prices are truly staggering!
Dominoes are very clever and completely re-vamped their menu to include ingredients and food stuffs that are highly processed, inferior in quality and therefore much cheaper in bulk purchase. Have you not noticed they count a squeeze of mayo or mustard piri piri or chilli sauce as a topping these days!? unbelievable! @@andrewrice6596
Not actually a food product but would you consider doing a crimpit review? There's two sizes, one which folds full tortilla wraps into something like a calzone and the smaller square one for making toasties out of thins.
it does seem that really just get a base and put the stuff on it if all you need is a bottle of that sauce then you are looking at very small amounts of the toppings. So £3.50 is too much money for it
I don't know what the colour Blue signifies in Chinese, but I know Red is supposed to be lucky. So luckily your Blue Dragon pizza wasn't anything less. Nice review Gareth. Cheers 👍🤤😀
It means long life and healthy and harmony. Blue /green is even luckier and is often used in homes. My Taiwanese daughter painted her bedroom blue to bring harmony. Hmm 🤔
Great review Gaz pizza looks great but sweet chilli is a no no for me and who ever invented it wants telling off chilli is hot not sweet but keep up with the great reviews 👏👏👍👍
I don't mind it on some things but I once asked for mild chilli on my doner kebab and I got sweet chilli. It really didn't work and I was pretty annoyed 🤣
I'm with you on that one, the texture difference doesn't match. I stick to Pepperoni, Olive and Jalapeño with a soft dough base so I'm probably different to most as alot like crispy bases
Hi babe can you tell me if you go in a shop and there is a price tag saying whatever the price is ,but when you go to pay they want more money saying they have put the wrong price on can you by law pay the price on the tag
@@stephenscarff471 the multibuy is three for £10 so he saved 50p. Although he only really saved if he needed the items, and he only saved against the cost of items but probably spent quite a lot more than if he shopped elsewhere for similar products, so the word 'saved' should be taken with a pinch of salt. Iceland make their own sweet chilli chicken pizza for £1.65 so you can get a good idea of how much of a markup it is for them to put a Blue Dragon logo on that box.
@@LindaWYorksUK they've been around for donkeys years. I remember trying them at uni 20 years ago and thinking that it just tasted like sickly syrup. As far as I know the brand is entirely western and has no links to Asia whatsoever. It's just junk made by English people with some clever and expensive branding. Incidentally owned by 'AB Foods', who also own the (now) equally crap Pataks. AB stands for 'Associated British'. Very authentic.
@@PotatoPirate123 and the syrup taste is still disgusting 20 years later! Fortunately, some of us have learned a lesson along the way and discovered how to make as close as we can to the real McCoy! Any excuse for a trip to Wing Yip for ingredients 😂
