I've always said there's backup queens as the queen in FC would have disconnected from the hive when they went to the past and that's why they were building the interplexing beacon. I also think that Admiral Janeway was a Borg queen briefly in endgame before the unicomplex exploded and she told the Borg sphere to pick up voyager and carry it to the alpha quadrant rather than destroy it in the transwarp conduit

I like your theory but I'm not sure it's 100% congruous with Star Trek canon. One thing you're right about is the selection of the Borg Queen. We know from "First Contact" that the Alice Krige's Borg Queen was originally a member of Species 125, and Susanna Thomson's queen also says she's a member of that species in VOY: "Unimatrix Zero: Part 2." I don't think they're supposed to be the same queen, so your theory that queens are selected from a particular species could certainly be true. From VOY: "Scorpion", though, we learn that the heart of Borg territory is in the Delta Quadrant (where Janeway surmises they originated), so it can be assumed that Species 125 is probably from there. If Dahj is from Species 125, they'd have to explain in the show how she got all the way to Earth because she obviously wasn't assimilated so she wouldn't have got a ride with the Borg, and that part of space is some 50 years' journey at maximum warp. It'd be extremely unlikely she'd find the three former drones who have regained their humanity (Picard, Seven, and to some extent Hugh) and even if she did, she wouldn't need anything from them, and consulting them would only put them in danger if the Borg were looking for her. Finally, that also wouldn't explain why Starfleet officers were trying to arrest her, because they'd probably be trying to hide her. If you'll let me modify your theory a bit, I think Dahj comes from a species who's been assimilated by the Borg, but unlike the rest of her species, she has a mysterious physiology that's resistant to assimilation and no one knows know why. Given their recent encounters with the Borg, Starfleet wants to capture her so they can analyse her. They're also not too happy with her because she's stolen some of their research in nanotechnology so she can try to save her assimilated family. Hearing of Hugh's efforts on a Romulan colony to try to get a mini-collective of drones functioning as individuals, she decides to go there to see if they know anything. She seeks help from Picard to get her there because he has enough clout to get her past Starfleet, and he understands what it's like for the Borg to take everything away from you. Who knows how far off I am, but … 😉

Great theory. It's much more plausible than my theory that a low artificial intelligence orange creature will appear vowing to Make the Collective Great Again.

Comes across as exciting. I hope she is Borg so the character of Borg can return to Star Trek. It makes the series and movie franchise exciting for future themes in the Star Trek sequels,giving hope to a villain worth watching and Star Trek new life.

The Borg queen is Alice Krige I will accept no one else she is to awesome

This is my theory too. Basically, dahj were a part of the collective as a kid (not yet fully assimilated.) she probably still have the birds memories of Picard or rather locutus and hence she feels safe with him. Such ominous statements as she’s the destroyer, she’s dangerous, Picard: if she is who I think she is she’s in danger. All of this points me to the conclusion that she is the borg queen to be. I also believe that dahj will eventually become the borg queen. I think she’ll sacrifice her self for the greater good. Like they face some overwhelming enemy (probably the remnants of the tal shiar romulans) to save Picard and the rest of the people on the borg cube or the alpha quadrant from the bad romulans, she sacrifices her self and becomes the borg queen to take over the remaining drones to save everyone else and thus a new borg collective is born. Were left to speculate if the new borg will be good or evil. Maybe the lessons she’s learned during her time with Picard will influence the new borg to be good. Or they could go with. Yeah old borg is back, you’re screwed alpha quadrant bitches, errrr I mean resistance is futile 😂

Interesting theory. But the problem I see is. You said the queen had a interest in 7 of 9 because she could probably be a queen in waiting. Even though she had her implants removed the AI could not be removed. As you stated the virus couldn't do. Your theory is sound but with 7 being alive why wouldn't she be the new Queen???

I think you might be right about her being a Borg captive or drone baby and seeks out locutus because this would make since because in Star Trek Enterprises Daniels takes Capt. Archer to the Enterprise-NCC 1701 J to when the Federation defeat the Sphere builders in the future. You can see in that hallway they are in arguing that the Enterprise J possibly has Borg tech incorporated into it. Perhaps somehow over the 3 season's of Picard Jean-Luc solidifies the concept of individuality into her and she brings it back to the new and rebooted Borg collective as a Queen or drone. Ithough in that scene in Enterprise that perhaps Hugh and his liberated borg became Federation members and then they incorporated Borg tech that way but this would work as well. Let mot forget that in Star Trek Voyager there are liberated borg on a planet that tricked that crew to activate a node to create some kind of LAN borg network to bring peace to that planet and created an isolated collective. This theory with the A.I would also tie in season 2 of Discovery with the A.I known as Control injecting Leland with what look like nano probes and controlling him.

I definitely think that Dodge is the next borg queen 👑. Plus with all of the things going on in the series for her to ask help to Captain Picard that he must have some sort of answer or key to her past and is searching for answers and I think the Pickard being that he was once a borg himself he must have that some connection with her as far as being Borg. I can't wait for the series to come out and our assumptions to be true.

The Borg AI originated on the, accrording to Spok, "machine planet" planet that Voyager 6 encountered and thus was transformed into V-Ger - it wouldn't be far fetched if V-ger gets a mention in the storyline......

You must not have watched every single Star Trek that's including Voyager and Deep Space Nine and also the Next Generation because if you did they had a video describing this certain species that the Borg Queen is that he picked her species specific because they were good at controlling it will put an order what chaos was in place I forgot what episode was but as soon as I remember I'll push or to upload it on here

Good video, but I see zero connection the Borg in maturation chambers and Queens. If you watch enough VGR, you'd know the Borg assimilate many beings who are too young to serve as drones. Seven was one such person. As far as Queens go, they're simply the manifestation of the Hive Mind given one voice. They sometimes enjoy a degree of autonomy, yes, but the Queen and the rest of the Collective are still a shared consciousness. Think of the seeming division as your conscious mind operating semi-indepedent of your subconscious self. The latter keeps on doing its thing, but the Queen/conscious mind functions on a different level.

Looking forward to binge watching the series when it ends.

It would be a heck of a thing if this theory turns out to be true. That would mean it's that easy to guess their plot line before we've seen any episodes.

Or she is a queen but she is a augmented human. Or what if the original queen downloaded her mind plus soul in to the Borg endless computers. Then is trying to escape in to a perfect body to control the Borg again. Her body might have been made to be overridden by the queen.

The Borg queen is analogous to ants. Each ship, or complex is like an ant nest, each with a queen and drones. Because the Borg are the same species - even hough they are made of thousands of species, the Borg are a species of themselves - and the queen is the queen, and so all look the same.

This is most likely the case. I expected this after watching the trailers. The problem is that instead of a artificial computer, she is a biologic computer now. I would guess it is a safety measure, just incase there is a virus that would destroy machinery, software, and electronics. The Borg Virus destroyed software, hardware, anything that is electronic. Dahj is organic, therefore she is immune to the Borg Virus. If she lets some of the Borg hardware upgrade her, she will become the Borg Queen.

I blame the Elachi for the creation of the Borg. Since their Tech is advanced like no other and they love their drone controlled ships.

The queen is Borg and not of Borg, so what dose this mean? if you look at all of the evidence with an open mind, its become clear that there is, in fact more than one Queen. her mind however is of the hive queen collectively working as one. So whilst its true there is only one queen, it is also true that she is made up from a network of queens. this why she is always there and can not be destroyed.

You've inspired me to watch the 3 trailers (2 + 1 movie short trailer), Now I'm REALLY EXCITED. Though when Patrick Stewart made the original announcement to the fans, I have to say I believed it would be good at that point. He's a phenomenal talent, and played a beloved TNG character, and so it appears they've put a REAL writer on board who cares about the TNG & Trek cannon / storyline. A lot to live up to, but the initial looks are quite AMAZING! (and happy to say I saw NO WOKE lines or innuendo in the trailers, so typical of BAD Hollywood these days - so sorry for Star Wars!).

There're many different Borg hives, each one with it's own queen and fleet as it turns out, that explains that mystery, as far as the one who "bedded" him and conceived his kid, their daughter, Doj, that was probably something he buried deep in his mind, or he was completely out of it, due to their drugs that enhance the Assimilation process. Also, monarchs tend to be selfish and self-centered a lot of the time, and with the need for establishing a dynasty, hence one of her duties would be to become a mommy, and we do know that the Borg are capable of physical reproduction, so it fits that Doj is basically some kind of a "Borg princess" who's people were captured and enslaved in a gulag inside the Romulan Star Empire and are apparently slated for experimentation, torture, and extermination in the end, once no longer of any use to the Rihannsu, their masters in said prison-camp, and she's running to her daddy, who kept a degree of his personal identity as Locutus is not a Borg identity code of numerical values and a fraction as is typical, but rather a personal name- and the show hints that the Borg queen wanted him as some kind of a consort, a type of (in her case) husband, she desired him in that way. The events would be really and truly traumatic, but his personality and family history being a major element of his person, plus his past in a military career in Starfleet- the armed forces of the Federation, would harden him to his suffering and allow him to put down the suffering to allow him the drive he needs to rescue his kid's people and thus their people from what amounts to a death-camp; and what we know of the Rihannsu as the Romulans call themselves is that they have absolutely no respect for those they capture, and have a tendency to enslave those they conquer... her ship was captured in a "hit", perhaps by a secret operation by the Romulan government disguising it's operation as mere piracy and/or rebels/renegades, a typical problem for a large interstellar nationstate such as their own is policing its people to prevent hostile acts, and by and large, they might actually sponsor such unoffical acts, or parties in their administration might, come to think of it, especially if they can get something out of it. Particularly in this case, where they get subjects to experiment on or build weapons by disassembling the people from the ship!

@star trek theory well there was one book that stated that the Borg weren't Borg at all starting off. Looking at the material it states that Borg were initially V'Ger. So basing that on the Borg being a race of machines, which do not operate under the same ways life as we perceive it does it is not entirely unfeasable that the Queen can move her conciousness from one body to another, from one place to another even over great distances. Not to mention another factor, four dimensional is quite different than what we understand it. So compile all that into play it is possible this woman subconsciously could be having her mind gradually being overrun and taken control of.

The problem with this theory is that the Borg have never shown any ability to fight. They overcome their enemies with adaptive technology and sheer numbers.

This Borg Queen theory fits best. The other theories floating around like her being Lal, what difference would that make? Unless she was carrying a Phylanx Redux Transmitter to turn all those Androids into murder bots? Or some android rights campaign, the 'Destroyer' from that, don't think so. Shinzon's daughter WTH would that do to make her the 'Destroyer'? Romulus is space dust already. These last two would be so damn boring, unless it was the murder bot, lol. Now, her being that new Borg Queen (What if the Romulans did some manipulation on their own to her genetics to enhance her, an enhanced Queen), that's a story line with unlimited and albeit galaxy changing potential, 'Assimilation' fears baby! This would be a worthy and intriguing story line.

Agreed, there may be a contingency in any Borg vessel or facility, if there is no active queen, one is created (a program or app installed you might say into an appropriate Drone). The Romulans mucking around probably triggered it (intentionally or unintentionally), if this is the case. What we've seen with messing around with Borg technology is the chance for catastrophe. It takes a lot of Hubris for that, but we're talking the Romulans.

I thought this was fairly well understood after First contact and then Voyager delved into the Borg pretty deeply. There is no biological "borg," which means it has to have a technological origin.
