Feasting Junkies Blog: feastingjunkies.blogspot.com/2...
Recently, Tropicana introduced their new buffet named "Savor The Buffet". I couldn't wait to enjoy their new restaurant and decided to go try their weekend buffet, hopefully to see their best selection of dishes. With the Vegas strip being essentially a smorgasbord of buffets, how will this one contend? Well, I intend to find out.
Upon entering the dining area, you'll realize this is a cozy comfortable space. At a glace, you can see the entire buffet area, which unfortunately, is not exactly a good thing -- one tends to look for grandeur and excess at a buffet and it appears the selection is somewhat limited.
Walking around, I found that the staff were amazing and the food quality was great, but alas the selection was the weakest link in the chain. Unfortunately, you'll see in the video, that this wasn't a whole lot of dishes to choose from -- and that's essentially what the essence of the buffet is -- the variety and abundance of dishes.
Due to the limited selection, there was no "wow" factor in the dishes. Very wholesome well made simple dishes. Being priced at about $35 USD per person, this is essentially a value buffet, but priced at a premium buffet.
I would suggest pay and extra few dollars and go next door to the MGM Grand buffet where the selection is mind boggling at just a few dollars more.
Pros:
Custom made dishes: Made to order Burgers/Sandwiches, Pizzas, Pastas
Friendly servers and staff
Dishes served where prepared well
Cons:
Very limited selection
No WOW factor -- standard dishes
Priced at the premium buffet, yet offers standard dishes
Their website and address are:

Could it be that this was just an off night? If you have been there, let me know if this is your experience as well.
Happy Dining!
