Oh my gosh, what a dream! My partner and I have been saving and can't wait to have our first home together. My dream is this! Saving saving saving..... our time will come hehe. ❤️ Subbed. X
Congratulations! This is honestly a dream first house, me and my hubby are currently saving up for ours! I've just subscribed and can't wait for your moving vlogs 😍
Absolutely with anything your not happy with then write it on the snags page and they will sort it out and change things with anything tour not happy with. We regret to not of put enough down on our snag list. From scratched things down to the painting not being tidy etc I would literally put absolutely everything down you find. And really go through your house and look carefully xx We moved in to a new build 4 years ago in Gloucestershire and it’s still annoying how much we noticed after it was to late by just not looking properly and also problems that came to light later on to with windows and doors etc. If you want any more info let me know, we have had a lot of problems, looks like our homes are similar in way maybe same company :-) xx good luck in your new home. It’s lovely xx
Thank you for this advice!! We are in a david wilson home! They have come round and fixed all of our major issues like the cracked window etc! Its crazy how you notice things as time goes on! They told us we would get cracking as the house dries out which we are now starting to notice.. did you get much of this?? Thank you for watching and for the lovely comment xx
Hey just found your channel! So happy for you both me and my boyfriend are just about to start our first time buying journey so if you have any tips of getting a new build id love to see a video or just have a chat maybe :) x
Thanks for watching!! I will probably be making a video about it soon!! If you have any burning question I am always happy to message you on instagram!! both my instagrams are linked in the description box so feel free to message me and we can chat 😊 Good luck!! xx
Congratulations. Love the big lounge. They are a rarity these days in new builds that seem to be all kitchen. Are you getting a professional snagging survey done ?
Thank you!! No we didn't get one done! I know a lot of people do but our building have been pretty good with fixing anything wrong!! It was quite a difficult time to get one done because of covid we wanted to limit people coming in the house!
Thanks! Ah that great it will be lovely when you finish it!! Are you planning to live there or make a profit and do it all again on a different house! I’d love to renovate somewhere one day!
@@MegLev_ were planning on moving in after we have done it up! But what we have done to do it had added value so when we do come to sell it will be worth more!:)
Good-size house and great-sized garden! Wonder whereabouts in England this is...seems to be a struggle to find anything that's not some pokey apartment in the south of England, particularly South-East, for a viable price-point for someone in their 20s. Everything 400k, 500k...just not feasible for the vast majority! My issue as well is being a single person looking to get on the property ladder, its tough, but then again, I'm not keen on hitching up with someone on the sole basis of getting a shared mortgage and lumping our deposits together lol.
Thanks! it is really hard to buy as a single person so I admire you for doing it, everything is so expensive now!! we live in the east of england but generally things are cheaper the further north you go and cheaper for non new build houses!
Lovely house, congratulations it’s not easy getting on the property ladder these days. Just a question is the radiator in the third bedroom position in the right place it’s not under the window and I just thought the location would really restrict being able to put a wardrobe in, and you couldn’t put a chest under the window due to the door.
Thankyou! Yes it is unfortunately is in the right place according to the plans and we weren't able to change them. I is in such an awkward annoying place, building companys dont think things through sometime I swear!! all of my other radiators are under the window so it seems so off this one isnt!
Very beautiful house, congratulations! We were looking at the Hadley as well but in the end booked for the Ingleby. What's the upstairs landing/bedroom's carpet called if I may ask? thanks.
Thanks!! Yes the Ingleby is lovely too!! They didn't have any of those on phase 1 when we got ours but they have just started building them on phase 2! I just looked for you and its exact name is 'new stainfree affinity antique ivory' Wish you well on your journey!
“Snagging” just as well the builders come back and put things right after you move into a new build. It makes you wonder if the builders know about some of the problems but hope you won’t notice.
Thank you!! Our house has now started to crack where everything is drying so we need them to come round and paint again!! They were really good with our major snags like the cracked window!
Thank you!! yes we had a few snagging! they were really good at fixing them tbh! still got a few issues now but just waiting on them being fixed as waiting for a kitchen cupboard door to arrive etc! x
@@MegLev_ ah I get you! It looks amazing! Me and my boyfriend have just reserved a barratt home new build which I think is owned by David Wilson so really helpful video!! xx
It is so hard to get on the property ladder now, we are very lucky! I am sure you will become employed soon, its a really difficult time to get a job at the moment because of covid etc
I LOVE this video! such a good job with filming it, you should be so proud of yourself. Hoping to move soon and I cannot wait to film the empty flat tour xx
Thankyou, I am glad it was okay because I felt so silly filming it haha, I couldnt believe we were actually standing in our house as it had been delayed about 4 times because of covid!! I hope everything goes smoothly for you xx
Yes it definitely does!! even my neighbours who have the same house have a different version!! they have their patio doors out of their kitchen instead of their living room!
Yes we really like them!! They have great floorplans and they have sorted out any problems we have quickly but had no major issues!! We have friends that bought with other builders and are still waiting for things to be fixed over a year later!! DW homes are a bit more expensive but I think you get what you pay for as not as many hidden extras! x
@@MegLev_ we bought a new build with all Electrolux. We've had to replace all the freezer drawers on numerous occasions. The microwave failed to heat after 2 years. The dishwasher has a huge crack that developed a few weeks after moving in (still works amazingly) on the control panel. The gas hobs scratch super easy and the logo and hob markers come off very easily with wiping them down. The oven blew the bulb in quit catastrophic style firing glass into my face. And the oven will cut out all the time if the grill is on too high. maybe we just got unlucky.
They're not massive as it is only a 3 bedroom house but I do think its hard to get perspective of an empty room on camera!! They are looking bigger now we have furniture in!
@@Roxjetlagged The US is a huge country when compared to the UK. So that needs to be considered when comparing home sizes. Again, in the US some areas are really expensive and you get tiny spaces.
It's hard to say as it really depends on the area of the UK its being bought it! You can always search up 'david wilson the hadley' on google and it will come up with the same house and the cost on different sites that are in different parts of the country so you can get an idea!
It's amazing, just be more relaxed when talking and instead of talking what is this ( rail, door etc.) 😊tell what you like in it or what surprised you, ( like you said in the bathroom about shelving❤️)and who is filming let him do few steps on the back, to let us viewers to see what are you showing, like and subscribe from me👌
Thank you so much!! Thanks for the advice too it’s very useful for future videos, I will try and take it on board and handy to know what other people think! I am trying to work on being more relaxed I think I felt very silly and giddy on the day we filmed this because it was such a big day for us!! 🥰🥰 thank you for watching and subscribing ☺️
Thank you for the feedback, I will take that on board! During the filming of this video I actually felt so overwhelmed and silly filming it because I didn't want to come across that I was bragging etc! It also felt so surreal because we reserved the house back in january and we had about four different completion dates because of covid so I was actually in such shock we were actually standing in out house, I couldn't believe it had actually happened! Thank you for watching 😊
haha I get what you mean but I just use that to explain it as most houses in the UK don't run like that they have a kitchen/living room at the front and then vice versa at the back of the house! I hope that made sense!
Congratulations. Yours is okay But Why are British most homes so souless ugly and boring . Why can't they build like USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. Ive never seen such ug.ly homes in my whole life . And please global weather change is real so dear British builders include central air condition in your homes. 2022 summer was just the beginning of more extreme summer heats to come. Its got nothing to do with space. I was a realtor in Atlanta GA and Americans can use the tiniest piece of land to build the most spacious functional homes ever. No washing machine in kitchen and no 4 bedroom 1 bath.
Thanks, its just the style we have here in the UK, I really like the look of the outside much better than modern! I guess we all have different tastes if not the world would be boring!
