Just because its a new house doesn't mean it isn't full of problems!

seems like the inspection was filmed before the final inspection. there is still a lot of work to be done if it wanted to pass finals. new windows comes with warranty so whichever company they brought from would have came out and replaced the cracks. covers plates would have been taken care of by the electrician to pass. attic stairs is cover by builder. hvac for lineset is taken by whoever does mechanical to pass. also thats not mold growing on the trusses. ive set over 50 truss packages and seen wood ingrained with black spots all the time. the trusses dont use common 2x4 as they built with southern yellow pine which is stronger and can carry more load.

Or maybe a crappy CM that isn't aware of his houses. I see this in the field everyday. Call for final inspections when the home isn't close to final. Always saying on the phone "my guys said they did it" haha

Exactly, this video is dumb. In the real world you take care of the final "punch list" before! The inspection

You sure have a lot of excuses about what was pointed out in the video. Did you build this house? Come on, it’s okay if you did you can tell us, we’ll understand.

Good luck finding a house that doesn't have mold growing on wood. I don't think I've ever got a lumber pack in my life that doesn't have black or white mold growing on it somewhere. Granted that's in Canada, maybe in more of a desert climate it doesn't happen but yah.

Even in hot Arizona that wood molds, while in a bundle. A lot of that wood is wrapped and shipped a little wet. I spray a little bleach on them and wipe them down in the shop and let them dry in front of a fan, before the next days build, or remodel. Heck even treated wood can mold.

Oh my goodness. How would a person notice all of these things without paying money to someone else? Thank goodness for grifters like these that can make something this simple into an actual industry. I understand that builders can be fast and/or careless, but to act like the market and courts wouldn't take care of them in a hurry is ridiculous. We do not need inspectors.

But they don't, like at all, that's why inspectors are needed in the first place. The builder is intending to close this sale, or the inspector would not be there. They are willing to give you a house with shitty work, say its finished, then deny warranty after. If the inspector was not able to document it then what recourse would they have? Court you say? You think it's ok to make a person who just bought a house, a brand fucking new house to the tune of 200k at a MINIMUM, hire a lawyer and take a multimillion dollar construction company, one that has a stable of lawyers in house, to sue a builder to complete the job they are already paid to do. Imagine you build cars, and you sold a car that had no seat belts and was missing a single spark plug. Just didn't put them in, now would you say you did your job? Stop defending shitty half assed lazy millionaires, if the construction industry could be trusted to do their jobs properly inspectors wouldn't be needed in the first place. They are so notoriously lazy as an industry that laws have been made requiring oversight by inspectors. And if you think you could honestly do without this rather nessicary oversight, look up Chinas styrofoam construction. That's what happens when there is no accountability. People inevitably die when a rich dick spray paints plaster to look like concrete

Who calls for a inspection before the work is done?

Inspections take place throughout the construction process. Anyone that has ever worked in construction knows that.
