Great video. Your fitter really knows his driver physics. I especially liked his comments on shafts not impacting your result as much as people think. Wish I had your swing.
I was just going to say, whoever this fitter is, he is solid and unfortunately rare. You can walk into a hundred Dick's Sporting Goods or Golf Galaxy's and run into maybe 3 guys with his knowledge. Man good fitters are underrated. People buying off the shelf from young Bobby or old crotchety Gary are doing themselves a major disservice for their $600 they are shelling out.
Hi Coach Lockey Great Video👍, wasn’t Nick a great fitter👌, I haven’t heard as much technical info explained (with out confusing) you😃, Brilliant!, Would have liked to know if The New Driver was better than the Rogue🤔, Distance, Flight, Shape, etc. Can you do a Comparison Video with the Std & X with the Data and your thoughts, Thanks Dickey 9hcp 75year Senior Golfer
Nick is a great fitter there should be more fitters as knowledgeable as he is as far finding out what you as the player are trying to accomplish because we all different. Great fitting video Coach.
I just got fitted a Rogue ST MAX LS with a Ventus TR Blue 6X shaft two weeks ago. I wasn't a shaft guy, but was blown out of the water by it. It felt so much more easy to hit and so stable. It's like I feel that I'm aware of where the club head is at every part of my swing. Just like the fitter said, it doesn't change the spin and flight by itself, but it does make a difference how you react to the driver/shaft. Whatever combo, it should be in sync with you.
That fitter dude provided valuable information to consumers, that may not go get fit. Paradym is slightly stronger lofted & slightly fade bias compared to Rogue ST. Haven't heard that from any other review 👍
Callaway has long had extra loft & draw bias in their "neutral" retail offering. Good to see them getting close to true specs now. Their loft sleeve & sliding weight can put plenty of draw bias in for those who need it.
Yes I got fit once but it was by someone who dedicated to selling one brand. I took the information and used it to have my own driver modified, new shaft, loft adjusted etc to fit the specs
I got fitted by my swing coach, for Calloway Rouge, he made changes, but I told him Don't tell me what setting he made. And to this day I haven't look, because All I need to know, was for my swing, I can fade or draw with good dispersion .. Getting fitted for the Calloway Paradym to see if there will be distance added....Great video
This fitter reminds me of a man who owns a wine store in town. I’m glad the paradym came out so I can pick up a rogue now. I just sold my old teal rogue. Gonna slap my penley shaft in it and hope for the best. Always good stuff, coach!
I didn’t realise I cared much about shafts until I came across an EPIC Flash driver with my ooolllldddd Tensei AV blue in it. And it just felt effortless. I’ve actually sold my ROGUE ST Max LS and now playing the cheaper Flash because it’s simply performing better than the newer, more expensive shaft in the ST. Very strange
Great video, one of the best things I take away is how you are communicated with Nick on what you are doing, trying to do etc...not just playing whack a ball and musical shafts. Even a cameo from that Robinson fellow (fore LEFT!) :)
Got fitted for a ping g425 max. Needless to say, it lasted 3 weeks and I got rid of it. Bought a stock Hogan gs53max sight unseen and it was much much better. Starting to look at new drivers again and the paradym & tsr2 are the top choices so far. I will use a fitter (a different one) to zero in on the finer points.
Great video Coach! I’m a little late to the party. I got fitted today with the Paradym X with a lighter shaft in 9 degree. This combo made a consistent flight window for me.
Great vid coach....I especially like how the fitter understood your strike variance and your personal plan. My last iron fitting kinda went this way (Callaway Apex 2018). I understood my swing and strike, and wanted to avoid being fitted for a club that was too forgiving as I want to be able to work the ball and this is tough with a Super Game Improvement club...it's not all about distance. Am I correct that the end result for you was no real improvement from the new head vs your old head? BTW, I am a Titleist fan boy for driver and hybrids, but play Callaway irons and wedges and a Callaway Diablo 3 wood that I was fit for in 2018ish...it's very consistent for me...and I am more about consistency than distance. I am a 9 HC....if only I could chip and putt...
The best part of this video is the fitter understanding that golf is all about "how bad is your bad shot." This is deeply understood at the highest level but retail fittings are usually done totally upside down (selling drivers based on the best shot being X yards farther than the old driver).
This guy speaks faster than I can hear lol! But I love how he's separated the driver from what the golfer is trying to accomplish. Skill still number 1. Then it's about finding the right tool! Keep making the vids. They're really helping us think correctly about this great game
I love that shaftoid talk. LOL. This is interesting though to talk about the things companies are trying to work on now outside of marketing. Using a shaft for a feel trigger is interesting. Great discussion Coach! Can’t wait till the new setup comes!!! Hand Crafted is staying… BOOM!
Coach...Did you notice any diff in ball speed numbers with the different shafts, and what was your numbers with last modell compared to this Paradym? I was fitted for my G410 and now consider to try the LST version of Pings 430.
Fitting is useful when Fitter like him and get more detail information player and what is the player wanted to see on his new driver without working hard changing swings to adapting the new equipment.
Would not have thought a guy with your swing speed and hitting up on the ball would ever be at 10 degrees. Pretty interesting stuff, tells me what I know about fitting(next to nothing).
@@canyonaro Yep, and the biggest unmentioned variable is the handle position. He is more handle forward at impact, which closes the gap in the spin loft between his AOA and dynamic loft on the face--drops the spin quite a bit because the impact is less "oblique". And these new heads play pretty strong.
That was so good. Ventus red, nah not for me Bruh 😆 I’ve had my x stiff tensei blue in my Mavrik sub straight into my epic max ls. Once you find a shaft you like it’s hard to change
That's the difference of having a fitter from the manufacturer as opposed a retail one they are looking for what is best for you and the shops are wanting to get a sale
Dude just a total waste of time for you to have that fitting. All it proves is you as a decent player would override anything that guy put in your hands pretty quickly. Re assures me that form year to year best money spent is not on the latest generation on equipment. Love you still and enjoy seeing your sparkles new (not shaft) golf gear! Great content 👌
Talk about the ludicrous cost of this club£600! Made in China, as all the big manufacturers do now, for probably not more than £50 if that! Never hear these golf influencers ( as they are called now) comment on this.
@@CoachLockey I get mine from Callaway preowned, on Black Friday I got an EPIC SPEED 3 wood for £111 - absolutely brand new, still in wrapper when it arrived. Did the same with my GBB Epic driver for just over £200 around 18 months ago, again brand new in the wrapper. I will hopefully get a Paradym driver in maybe 18 months to 2 years and do not expect to pay much over £200 for it 😁
That’s my advice to people, wait until they’re second hand and get them for the prices you’ve suggested! A message needs to be sent to these manufacturers on ridiculous over pricing. No one including your mate has replied to my comment, so you have impressed me by actually replying. Good for you👍
Its all about the shaft , head less important. It’s rare to get a custom fitting like this. It’s probably a great driver but only if fit correctly, that rarely happens in my experience. Callaway demo days at ranges with range balls….. a far cry from this video.
