I have watched several of Steve's videos but this was the first time I can remember where he has spoken at such length about the width of the stance. The idea of trying to "force the ground" as far as possible from the centre of the body was a lightbulb moment for me. Excellent video.
Hi Coach. I'm confused- Steve says we need a wider stance for more power and others say we need a narrower stance to rotate the hips quicker ?? HELP !!
Old golfer here....played KRANK, FAIL-SAFE, DOTCOM, GEEK before anybody heard of them(play a FAIL-SAFE to this day)..... played the HOUSE OF FORGED shafts..... (I even played the PINK-O-MATIC) .....great equipment...... LOL.... you guys are learning (late but so what...at least you are waking up)
Problem with getting the hands higher as a senior golfer is standing up on the back swing losing posture. Should I try this even losing posture ? Is it worth a try ?
All that’s fine for young people like yourselves but trying to get your arms high and arm straight at 74 years of age is not feasible and we have to improvise.
I'm 83 and I could never apply these suggestions about high hands. Doesn't that contradict with Ben Hogans instructions? At 83 I'm ready to give up the game that I have played all my life.
@@GeneMoretti Don't quit. How far do you think you should hit the ball at 83? Jack Nicklaus said in May that he now drives the ball 190 yards "if I kill it". Adjust your expectations and you'll be fine.
Is it not just a case about turn your upper body backwards away from the target creating a whipping effect then club and arms goes forward and your lead arm also straightens up at impact. You would not see someone throwing a ball with arms and upper body both going forward. When you move your upper body backwards you turn also automatically your hips. I think your overthinking this. Try throw a ball and be aware what is going on. Your upper body works backwards as your arms throws the ball. Simple as that.
Not that easy to find in Scotland a force plate facility. Drumoig, St Andrews and Archerfield , so perhaps 4 or 5 facilities in the whole country. I think it’s virtually impossible for rank amateurs to improve the pressuring left fast at transition without force plate technology giving them and the teacher feedback. Downswing takes ? 0.3s and then you have to factor in the brain/ body lag when trying to do something consciously .
Hey coach at 1.52 into the clip, not best to pan down towards the pelvic region and ask about shaft question. Just seems a bit suspect lol. 🤘🏻🇦🇺 #NotThatTheresAnythingWrongWithThat
