Smashing video Jon. I didn't know the Cresswell family connection with capturing the first enigma machine. Can't believe a company was allowed to mine sand at Druridge Bay.
Thank you. I will keep going as long as I am able. Bulletin 12 released on friday gives you a run down on what is coming in the months ahead. best wishes Jon
Hi, yeh thought this one was ok but also needed redoing. A recut of Episode 6 just about to go up. Havent announced it yet but each of these recuts have new footage in them. So its not just a case of watching a repeat, something new in each of them. Hoping to be done and back on schedule by the end of the week ! cheers Jon
Jon please don’t take my comments highlighting inaccuracies as me being disrespectful of your work - I really enjoyed watching and listening so keep it up 👍
Hi Ernie, this reply is to all your comments and thank you for sharing the information. I always say on my videos that people should write if there are any inaccuracies in my naratives. Obviosly I am relying on my reading of other s accounts, I sometimes have the benefit of talking with an expert, but the vast majority of time I research as best as is available. Your comment on Lynemouth biomass and Druridge sand extraction is extremely helpful and thank you for those comments. My comment on Cresswell scars is a theory based on my Geoligical knowledge of the Northumberland coast and maybe I didnt make the point clear enough with regard to Timescale or maybe I confused the point by talking about two subjects in the same paragraph. The geological time scale I meant was over many millions of years and the whole coast of the north east has altered significantly over that time. So my apologies if the video was confusing. Glad you are enjoying them though, as long as people watch and enjoy I will keep making them. Best wishes Jon
Correction 3: Sand extraction was undertaken by a local farm land owner not Banks Mining. The Highthorn Open Cast mining planning application was submitted by Banks Mining but was not granted. The sand extraction rights were granted in perpetuity and could recommence should the local land owner wish!
Very interesting but some facts incorrect … Correction 1: The biomass burnt at Lynemouth Power Station does not contain any manure or household waste, it’s is 100% wood.
Very interesting but some facts incorrect … Correction 2: The high tide line at Cresswell Scars has not moved landward by 200 metres! The outfall pipe was designed to have its discharge point under water at low tide this is still the case today 99% of the time! From high tide to lower tide the sea level varies to a maximum of approximately 5 metres on spring tides, on average the change is around 3 metres. The land and rocks have not sunk significantly! Some coastal erosion of the sand dunes has occurred, photographic evidence would suggest this is no more than 5 to 10 metres in front of the Lifeboat House now the Village Hall.
