In new construction, time is money, and contractors' margins take a hit when they are forced to wait for critical service or materials. In the case of termite pre-treatments, there are often very narrow windows in which the service must be delivered and completed... and often with very short notice.

The technician have a knowledge how to do proper treatment of termite but they don't have proper PPE to protect themselves just saying

Is it necessary to in conjunction do a wood treatment? Or is soil treatment good enough to prevent termites?

Hello, So is there a difference between digging a trench and filling it with the termiticide vs the ones that are drilled into the foundation at spaced intervals?

it’s the same thing only difference is the amount of gallons per linear feet you put out from trenching soil vs treating slabs, remember its all about getting the correct termiticide to the soil or to the top of the footer and to have coverage all around and anywhere termites can get through which can be 1/32in ( width of credit card) -btw i am a 5 yr technician /north carolina premier tech now consultant for orkin

My stupid builder didn’t consult with me it the termite contractor so the termite chemical barrier was put down, then the builder laid our concrete path round whole house. Now we have ineffective chemical barrier as soil has been disturbed by concrete and at my cost due to builders oversight I have the pay out to have the concrete drilled! Grrrr

welcome to florida!.....I suggest you contact your local building code official, your local DACS inspector, and The head of your state bureau of entomology. 99% of homes in Florida are treated without the required drilling.....tell someone!!!
