The 31-32" blades tend to be good for most people since they fall into 5 to 6 foot height range. 26-27" blades are better for shorter people, little kids or for a shorter version of a double bladed hilt. 36-37" tend to work better for taller or for those of average height who want a longer blade. I've got a 37" Saberforge blade that I use on occassion and it's not a problem for me being shorter.
I have a long hilted maul staff, with 36 inch blades, got it when I was 5’6, now years later still look silly at 5’9 with the tall thing, but it’s still the best feeling for me.
An interesting thing to note There is a correct way to hold both dookus lightsabers, that is with the thumb on the back of the hilt It was specifically designed, at Sir Christopher Lee's request, in a way that naturally mimics a fencing grip. So yes less fancy tricks but its much more agile in saber fencing when held in one hand (even if an rgb saber would be more ideal in saber fencing)
Curved hilts are mostly for fighting in Form 2 Makashi, where you keep your enemy at a distance with quick stab attacks & attacking at weird angles with just 1 hand. Most people didn't use this form since it's actually weak for fighting up close, because you can't generate as much power with a curved hilt as you could with a straight one (what's an rgb saber though?)
@@Necroscat its a lightsaber using an rgb light in the hilt so that when used for lightsaber fencing you dont worry about damaging the blade Also i was speaking on the out of universe origin. It was specifically designed at Sir Christopher Lee's request to be able to be held in a way that mimics the actual holding of a rapier, because he was a master fencer Which is also why form 2 mimics fencing in how it focuses on light cuts and thrusts

At first I didn't think there was a difference between the two Saber hilts until I watched your video and the comparison between the two hilts and I got to say I was very impressed although I'm not a big fan of curve in the hilt for me it's difficult to hold much like a Elite plasma sword from halo really hard to grip it right but all the same I like the sound and the coolness behind both sabers and I was fun to learn more about Count Dooku's past though I'm wondering why haven't they made the character Revan's sith and jedi lightsaber yet for the legacy lightsabers
I loved the Count Dooku jedi hilt during the Jedi Tales. I even looked up the curved hilt it is just like a rapier sword because once you weld it, it feels like rapier with confident matter
Just got mine and boy is it impressive. The flicker is super cool in lower lighting. All over a super awesome saber. Still love my Skywalker the best though.

Dude… right!?! I love everything about it, except for one little thing. It’s missing that one piece of black grit. It’s really a critical spot that if you try to spend the saber, it might slip out of your hand because you’re only holding chrome shiny metal. Everything else is super cool!

Nice video! I love this new design of the Jedi Dooku hilt! I like all the textures and variation on it. But I do wish it was a little lighter😬 and for me personally I like to do tricks with my sabers so When it comes to being heavy and having not enough grip that’s where it gets me. So for that reason I would have to stick with the sith version of Dookus hilt! Orverall I am impressed with the new design!

You should really take a look at the Saberforge (Sith) Count Dooku lightsaber. It's actually screen accurate & when the Galaxy's Edge one couldn't be more wrong. Just glossing over it I see 7 things wrong with it, besides how it's way too big & way too straight. I can only imagine how much they messed up the the Jedi version now... (need to do some research now) Just my nit-picking though because I always have to have the most screen (or cannon) accurate lightsabers. Still a great video & you got a like from me!
Now, don’t get me wrong, don’t misunderstand me, I do love the *Jedi Dooku* hilt; it’s absolutely _stunning,_ and a perfect precursor to his later *Sith* hilt… Having said that, if I’m 100% brutally honest, I kinda actually prefer the *Sith Dooku* hilt, with its harder-angled bend at the pommel, and that gorgeous, longer hook at the emitter end! 🤷🏻♀️ Now, if I could combine the two, having that beautiful Kestis-style shroud opposite the hook, but keep the *Sith* hook & pommel-bend, maybe have the lighter-grey *Jedi* colouring on the grip, _and_ install a _cyan_ *Kyber Crystal,* I genuinely think it would then be my all-time favourite *_Ultimate Lightsaber!_* I’d _proudly_ clip that to my belt & carry it _everywhere!_ *_Mat the Force be with you,_** Obi-Dad* 🤟🏻
Nice video and comparison of both Dooku hilts. Myself, IF, I was to get one I'd have to go with the Count Dooku/Darth Tyrannus lighter hilt. Not going to get a GE/Disney version though. I'm waiting to see if my usual seller is going to release one (I have hopes since they released a Mace Windu hilt slim "BMF" that take a 7/8" blade). If they do, I'll post it on YT.
Cool that they add more legacy lightsabers at Galaxy's Edge. I've never been, but hope to go one day. Do they rotate them out or can you get any of them as long as they're in stock?
Both designs are impressive, but to me, the Sith design wins because it's the OG. The OG (Sith design) also looks more ergonomically friendly to hold and not nearly as chunky as the Jedi one. IRL, I would love to get a Xeno/Neopixel Count Dooku Sith saber so I could switch between blue and red, so it encompasses both Sith and Jedi saber because they are so similar. One could even add on an extra shroud to the Sith saber, and it would become his Jedi one.
I gotta say i always felt like sith dooku lightsaber was so close but missing something. That jedi lightsaber is perfect. You can definitely tell his wealth in his hilt.

I work at the Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney. Unfortunately I have yet to see it because I was placed on medical leave for the rest of the year due to calling out sick a couple weeks ago because of bronchitis 😔 I was really looking forward to seeing this saber
I still love my Darth Tyrannus saber. I still have an OG Dooku saber from the Attack of the Clones toy line from 2002. I found it at a liquidation store in 2003, along with a Kenobi.
Taking a break from cutting Boba armor to…. Get tempted to spend more money. Might have to convert to a Treky if that will save me money at this point. Anyways great video, and very cool sabers.
I neopixel'd my dooku "sith" version with a cfx board, it is possible! It even uses the same connection system as stock disney. They really sound about the same in the stock config.
I was planning on buying this saber later this month. But I'm concerned about TSA not letting me take it on as a carry on because of the hook it has. Do you think I'll have this problem? Awesome content btw!
Hey bud, that’s very smart of you to think of that. I know how you feel, but I personally don’t think it would be a problem. I would probably pack it in a light saber case, if that’s possible. That way if they didn’t want it with you on the plane, they could just put it underneath the plane with the baggage. Have a great trip!

The Jedi Dooku for sure is definitely more cooler than the Sith version, I actually prefer buying Jedi versions of lightsabers they're way more awesome than the Sith sabers. I can't wait to get my hands on the Jedi Dooku saber, this'll be my very first Legacy Lightsaber I'll ever HAVE.

I got a 36” blade for my reforged Skywalker and I don’t like it. It feels way too long. The 32” are far better. Really I think the 36 only works for Kylo Ren.
Yeah, unfortunately it is pretty quiet. Although the sound is fairly accurate in my opinion. That’s what makes these Sabers so interesting is that there are so many pros and cons to think about when considering buying one.
@@FindingTheForce I like the Disney Sabers cause they are easy to get your hands on. I have the Skywalker box set the Asuka box set the Obi Wan Boxset the temple Gaurdi box set Darth mauls Darth Sidious Ben Solo Luke Skywalker the dark saber & Asajj Ventress Sabers I’m looking to get the Obi Wan Anakin Skywalkern box set next. I do agree the more technology the higher the price. Disney more likely have connections to people high up in the company’s who could get them the parts cheaper than other saber company’s do pay. I do think Disney would have more adequate saber sounds from the movies & tv shows it would be like holding the real thing plus Disney wouldn’t need to give you 6 or more fonts they just need 1 font & 1 colour plus leaves you room on a SD card to let you fully customise it yourself. I think the more the price goes up the more people will expect for their money.
Still prefer AotC/Dooku hilt > TotJ/Dooku hilt. The original look resonates plus I prefer the curve to the jedi saber. Plus the Dooku was on a deal at Dok Ondar's when I went last month. I will be back for Dooku 'Tyrannus' saber hilt, next visit to GE West.
I'd only want the sith one. I just want Luke's EPVI and Dooku's. I have a Master Replica Anakin/Luke one from way back but I'd like one I can put on a shelf without a blade in it. There are so many places out there that make these, and the Disney seems the cheapest so far but when am I ever going to Disney? I just want ones to look nice on a shelf.
The lightsaber is awesome but I’m sad that there are no neopixel versions because I’m poor and can’t pay for a neopixel blade but I think I’m willing to sacrifice 🧐🤩

I wish. All of the Disney sabers except for two models are set in their colors. The two that can change are the Ahsoka Tano from clone wars and the new limited Cal Castus box set.
I love the darth tyranus saber it’s my all time favorite so guess which I prefer and may I ask why the 🦆 did they retire it and if someone has one left I’d be happy to buy it when I have money🥲
