My preference would have been to play the Disney songs in the lobby and create original songs for the actual show. The new show is cute but I can it see it being a "one-and-done" for most people.
Yep, it’s great to see the animatronics looking so improved now and still having the Country Bears here is what matters most to me! Disney could’ve easily removed them completely and added something entirely new. Thank you so much my friend!
I’m not a big fan of this update. I miss when they sang actual country songs. Especially Big Al singing Blood on the Saddle. Now they are just singing Disney songs that we already heard before. Plus Try Everything isn’t a good fit for Trixie and Fixer Upper was a very questionable choice for this show.
Technically them singing covers of other songs is on brand for them, overall it’s not as obviously trying to get you to buy Disney merch as say a cancelled Tokyo show that would’ve had the bears singing Disney songs while wearing Disney merchandise, that would’ve completely spoiled the whole immersion of the show
I feel like it’s a mixed bag - on one hand, they should’ve made the show longer to allow each bear to have more time on stage, or kept the length but had less songs. And I do miss the original songs. BUT, I like that they didn’t only pick songs from new Disney movies, and there was some seriously good funny stuff (like the Trixie Tries Everything slideshow and the bear that used to sing BLOOOOOOD on the saddle trying (and failing) to sing Remember Me). And something about ending on the whole cast singing Bare Necessities is just so damn NICE even if it’s not “their” song, it just feels really appropriate for them:) And also….I seriously doubt this would ever have even been a consideration, but I would’ve laughed SO hard if Lester’s Possum Park was on the song list. If you know you know
I really like the song selection!! I wish there was some more silly banter, more cringey puns but oh well. I am really, really glad they kept this as the Country Bears!! Thank you for the video!!
🐻We can exhale - they didn't muff it up. Max, Buff and Melvin are so well used. Love you grabbed them being backup singers and they talk so much in the beginning. Most of the characters have keep their humor and the beginning even has an addition of a "spotlight" gag. You go into a dark hall with AC, bears sing & make jokes. It's cute and appropriately themed. Congrats getting in first day and in the future, maybe you can get the first room and added fixtures in more detail. (the crowds will die off) Thanks 4🐻💜
For me, the changes don’t bother me that much so I still enjoyed the show. Naturally I’m not a fan of IP being added in places where they weren’t prior but I’m just glad the Country Bears are still here, cause they could have easily scrapped them completely. Thanks so much as always Liz!!
Thanks for posting! It will be a while before I can see it in person. As much as I LOVE the original show--and always will--I must say that I think the Imagineers did a WONDERFUL job. I feel like they really put a lot of care and thought into keeping the spirit of the original show. And based on this and other RU-vid videos of the show, I love that they made Melvin, Buff and Max more active. I enjoyed it so much, I wouldn't have minded if it were a bit longer!
Saw it on the 18th. Wonderful update. It really needed it. The sound was so much better and I like the song selection. More appropriate for younger kids.
Genius, I love it❣ So attractive, modern and still country style. More cheerful, funny and entertaining than the old one. Thank you 4K WDW and greetings from Costa Rica 🇨🇷 Can't wait to be there 🙌🏼
I saw this show during the d23 preview and let me tell you something. I love this show and yes I will miss blood on the saddle and other couple things. But I love the new show
After the “new” hub of the old Epcot’s Future World and the retheming of Splash Mountain disasters, I’m really amazed and relieved that our beloved Country Bear are back with a new and funny show for their repertoire! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Your Channel is Absolutely Awesome Your camera work is the best. We watch all the time. So peaceful walking through the parks ,the resorts ,wherever you go we just love it.Thanks for bringing us so much Joy.
Just back from the mountains of Colorado to get to catch this new show here (all the while looking forward to seeing it in person in September!!) Oh my goodness!! Love this!!! watching here at home, clapping along as though I'm there!!) Some of the old songs just had not aged well at all (they were all old country and "ole timey" songs before...not original...just borrowed). Using IP, more people can sing along now 😊. This show still has the same great heart to it...just some "new" (to the bears) songs. I do miss the "Blood On The Saddle" section...but Big All singing "Remember Me" is funny!! And...there just is not better song to wrap the show!! (you have to watch to hear!) And they kept the old closing to boot!! Wonderful capture, 4K!!! (Thank you for seeing the show for us…especially if you are not fond of country music!!!).
I’m glad I was able to see this on opening day, I almost couldn’t due to a hectic schedule but everything worked out! I can understand from a business perspective why Disney changed the show to include IP. As you mentioned, this new version will be better for everyone to sing a long. Thank you so much my friend!!
Hey guys! That was a great show from the country bears! The costumes and songs from Disney Movies were amazing!! This is better than the original!! 🎶 🎵 🐻 😊
The animatronics look amazing. The audio sounds great, but I hate that they threw in Disney songs. I know the original wasn’t very kid friendly, but they could’ve stayed the same vibe and not just throw guitar into the back of random songs. I want to hear old true country music.
Thanks for bringing this to us; now I don’t have to spend time on my next vacation with this waste of time! (On a positive, it’s better than the original)
@@365daysofdisneyworld wow. So many thoughts. I would plead the 5th, but it’s not because I don’t want to incriminate myself. There just isn’t a real good answer. I’m going to agree with Rick on this one, for the same reason you would go into the tiki room. Really good air conditioning!
Such a fun reimagining of the classic show. Though I do wish it was a bit longer and had some more representation of other movies (Lion King, Tangled, Moana, all feel like major omissions). But who knows, maybe it could get an update like Philharmagic did?
The Country Bear attraction was only ever an air conditioned rest stop for me. The updated version doesn’t change that. Unfortunately it’s now also become another vehicle to pimp IP. Sigh….😮💨
What is Disney Corporation if it isn’t IP? It’s all IP, since the very beginning, Walt made sure of that when he got screwed over by other studios in his early career. I just don’t get this argument, it’s all a giant Disney sandbox full of IP.
Thank you for the great footage! Really made me feel I was in the audience watching it there. I will admit, I came in with a bias towards the original. I did not think they could possibly replace the comedy and storytelling of the greats like Homer and Jethro or Tex Ritter. It turned out better than I expected it to based on recent renovations and additions, but it fell short of what it could have been. I agree with @rickhunter3930 that the Disney songs could have been left to the lobby, leaving the show to showcase more modern country and country western stars and their music. Simply hearing them belt out random Disney tunes in new outfits was really disappointing. The original show was what introduced me to so many great artists and their work which I never would have been exposed to otherwise. I heard the silly [or sad] song sung through a big bear and started digging into the original performers. New generations will not have that inkling, it will only make them want to watch an old Disney movie.
This is bizarre. Not bad, just very strange. The singing is good and country versions of classic Disney songs sound surprisingly good, but it’s a mediocre update overall IMO.
I’m glad you made this video. I gave it an honest look and unfortunately this attraction is now suited for very young children and parents who need air conditioning. I have learned to expect this from the hopeless current management . Where oh where has the imagineering gone???
I was hoping for new modern recent country songs. But they’re all just Disney songs. Probably because Disney couldn’t afford the music licensing to any country songs. It’s like the bears have sold themselves out to Disney, (even though they’re already owned by them.)
Thanks for posting- it’s interesting to see the changes they made, and now I know to skip this attraction going forward. It’s nice that they tried to keep the country/bluegrass style, and the animatronics look great, but it’s not something I would want to sit through- the song selection just doesn’t fit at all, making the show feel forced and unenjoyable for me. I used to watch the old show on RU-vid sometimes for fun- I don’t even want to see this one on RU-vid a second time, much less go in person. I understand why several of the old songs were problematic and needed to be replaced, and I understand the difficulty of finding country/bluegrass songs that would connect with mainstream modern audiences- however, this feels to me like a case of Disney trying to leverage IP at the expense of making the attraction’s theming meaningless, boring, and unenjoyable for many of us. We’ve already heard these songs over and over, in some cases right across the walkway from this attraction- the songs fit well in rides that are themed to the movie they’re from, but including them here makes them feel tired, overused, and played out. 5 stars for the imagineers who went above and beyond and for their efforts at putting a country/bluegrass spin on the songs, but -1,000,000 stars for whoever came up with the song selection.
Can anybody think of a time when Disney IMPROVED a ride by changing it? Consider this Bear Jamboree, The Tiki Birds, Splash Mountain/Tiana, Space Mountain, Journey to Imagination. Who makes these horrible decisions at Disney to ruin all their attractions? In this Jamboree, the bears look like synthetic stuffed toys instead of real fur. The music sucks. the lighting sucks, the audio is not in sync with the movements. None of the bears has much character.
Of course they HAD to include a song from Frozen and it’s the worst and most unnecessary one in the entire movie. Who asked for Fixer-Upper to be sung in this attraction? Why did Disney think that was such a good idea? (In fact, who asked for Country Bear Jamboree to be given a permanent IP-based overlay? NOBODY, that’s who.) Fixer-Upper is just one of the many, many reasons why Frozen’s the WORST and most OVERRATED franchise of all time. When will the insanity ever end? At least Let It Go was excluded.
I think its better that they didnt just pull the most popular songs from the movies. Otherwise we would have had Let it Go and Part of Your World (not bad songs, but its cool hearing the smaller songs get a spotlight).
